Today is my first visit so I can't really say much. I ordered Maria's 8 oz steak. I wanted my steak well done and received it well done but however the steak was on the rough side. This place seems to be quiet and the staff seems very friendly! I will have to come back another day and hopefully this 3 star rating will change into a 4-5 star. Update: This is my second visit and I ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger. Even though the burger was somewhat dripping with grease the burger was good. I changed my 3 star review to a 4 star review. $25 for two (lil skinny) omelettes!!!! On carry out!, one with no sides...is that an up charge too? I said my last visit was going to be my last. My last experience there was dine in, we had omelettes and coffee. I asked for a Togo cup for my coffee... $3 up charge for to go! For coffee? That I can drink 15 more of if I just sit here? That togo up and a lid must be breakin yall! Could this place find any other up charges? I need another breakfast spot near me thats open at 6am.... PLEASE!!! Thus will def be my last visit/order. I love this restaurant it's family owned and you can definitely tell it's ran by family. The food is delicious and the employees are so friendly. It looks clean and smells of great food and pastries being prepared. I would definitely recommend trying this little spot. I always get the pancake meal. This is a greasy spoon! If you are expecting fine dining you are kidding yourself. That being said one the food is great when it is correct and you actually get what you order. I come here semi regularly and it seems like every time some one always gets their meal brought to them incorrectly. The latest example was by the worst. There were eight of us and 5 of us got our food incorrect. We were missing extra breakfast meat on two plates, brought the wrong kind of toast. Brought toast with butter when we order dry. We had onions when we requested no onions and there was also no cheese when we asked for cheese . More the half of us had our party had the wrong food. The waitress even brought it out and said hey this is wrong is that okay or do you want me to take it back. Stuff like this has happened almost every time I've been here. The wait staff is nice and friendly but they either don't pay attention when taking orders and definitely don't pay attention to make sure that the food there bringing to the table is what was actually ordered or not which is actually part of their job so. That being said I would like to remind everybody that the food is pretty great just make sure that you're very clear when you order and you actually get what you want. read more

OK....what prompted me to go in was the advertisement of the "all you can eat salad bar". I'm pretty much a vegan nowadays and I didn't want to do anything that evening so I thought, "Why not?!" Being as I don't expect miracles, I kept my mind open going in..... I ordered the salad bar and the person opposite me ordered some kind of chicken dish. That chicken was so SAD-looking (dry and small and sad)! I ventured to the salad bar to fulfill my hunger and was greeted by plates the size of saucer plates....the ingredients available were freshish and all that but most weren't even ingredients for a salad while obvious salad choices were missing. I felt like I had no options whatsoever as far as what I could eat. In summary, I ate a lot of lettuce and beets...... The waitress was EXTREMELY nice....not even fake or just REALLY good at being fake nice. I'll take it though. The middle-aged woman in high heels clamoring around the salad bar adjusting the ice almost every 5 minutes was REALLY annoying. I found myself waiting and waiting for her to leave as to go back for my next tongful of lettuce and beets. For what we received and the quality of it, it was overpriced. Especially considering we were the only people in there that seemed to be under 60...possibly 70. If you want Keno, the smell of impending death, and need a good cardio workout go to Maria's and order the salad bar. If you just want to eat and do so in a good atmosphere, you'd be better off somewhere else. :( read more

I've been here plenty of times and this time I met with a friend. Unbeknownst to me, this guy is very persnickety about his toast and his coffee. The waitress was polite about it, though, which gets this place an extra star. The service was fast, as usual, and they only overcook my eggs *sometimes.* That said, the food is cheap and good for the price. We sat there for over 90 minutes and my friend did card tricks during our time there. Nobody tried to rush us out or gave us nasty looks. This place has the same quality food with better prices and faster service than Petie's down at Shoregate. If given a choice between the 2 I'd definitely go here. read more

This is one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. It took over an hour to get our food with a one year old and it was awful. I ordered my son a plain scrambled egg and it came with a big eggshell in it that anyone could have choked on, but especially a toddler! Maybe they should get someone in the kitchen who knows how to break eggs at a breakfast spot. We were there for over an hour and a half and barely got water or coffee. When we finally got our food, my sons with the egg shell, ours was gross. I got scrambled eggs with onion and they put raw onion in it. Do I need to specify cooked?? Toast came out as I was trying to calm my kid after we finished eating. Bacon and sausage were cold and gross like they had been sitting under a heat lamp all morning. Their excuse was they were busy, but what do you expect on a Sunday morning at a breakfast place?? The waitresses barely seemed legal working age, and the people in the kitchen were slow and don't even know how to make a scrambled egg. I hate i have to give a place a bad rating over eggs and bad services but this is the case here. I was in town visiting my family and my sister suggested this diner for breakfast. We get there in order a grand slam meal that includes 2 eggs. She asked the typical question "how would you like your eggs" and my sister said boiled. The waitress leaves with the order and return to let us know that they do not have any eggs boiled. She offers to cook them a different way. My sister explains that she only eats her eggs boiled so cooking them a different way is not a solution and ask if she can substitute them for something else. The waitress of course says no substitution. We asked how do you have eggs but not boiled eggs - She explains that they usually do but the prep did not boil any eggs that morning so therefore they do not have any and again all she can do is cook them a different way - So I again I repeat "she only eats her eggs boiled" . The waitress then rudely replies "That is not my fault she only eats boiled eggs". I then state "and it is not our fault that you serve boil eggs but for whatever reason do no have them to serve therefore a substitution seems plausible in this instance". Again very rudely she replies "Look there is nothing i can do for you" and walks away. We just all look at each other in astonishment and get up and walk away. She yells out to us "Bye have a great day" Two words : unprofessional and tacky read more

Waited way too long for an assorted fruit bowl which had one type of fruit in it. (Doesn't sound assorted to me.) The waitress informed me that it was the only fruit they had. I went to the restaurant with a friend and the service was really poor from the server. The home fries were bland and not cooked properly. The wait time was very long as well. I live in Euclid and I recommend that no body ever go here. The people who work in this restauraunt need to take a class on providing people with excellent customer service. The owner of this restaurant is a hot head and extremely rude. I had ordered the fish and chips and was presented with over cooked boxed fish sticks...when I asked the waitress if I could maybe change the fish for a different kind... she said she would check...Next thing I knew the owner came over and got in my face all angry and said "what's wrong with your food" I proceeded to tell him and very rudely said "Well you ordered the fish and chips and that's what you got, what were you expecting" I told him I was expecting fresh fish. By this time my son had put up with the disrespect this was giving me and stood up and said "back off and walk away now" the guy said oh I am and went and called the police on us...Just cause my son was defending his mother. My son is only 6'1 and 175 lbs . Not a huge threat.. Well they made us leave and my son was banned from ever going back. Now mind you at no time did we ever raise our voice or disrespect ANYBODY. I am a soft spoken woman and totally did not deserve how I was treated. I would tell everybody to never eat there, there are MANY other restaurants with MUCH better service and food. read more

The second time today my husband birthday 10/4/19 my husband went to go pay I waited for her to come so I could ask for a box and refills and to go cup we were going to get desert as well and sit and talk for a minute but their careless ness of their customers they do not deserve our money because they do not appreciate it! I paid for free refills they are so unprofessional because they are soo comfortable because they are all family and they will never be out of a job and it's super unfair because we work hard for our money as well and I could have went to flavors on the vine or petties or angels or landmarks or shays like Maria's needs to be shut down for customer service training I'm always right I pay your bills honey!!
