For years we would drive all the way to Raddells for smoked slovenian sausage. Then they started selling it through Heinens. This was so convenient for us (West side suburb)....THEN , UNFORTUNATELY, Raddells changed the sausage casing to something that has the texture of PLASTIC!! Boil the sausage forever and the casing is still like plastic. Had to find a new source for slovenian sausage. A shame. read more

Definitely one of the best sausages I've ever had of any kind at any time in any place, and that's why I come here every time I drive through Cleveland by day. First off, this rating is for this year only. My family has been buying the rice sausage from Raddell's probably since they opened their doors. Always ordered the rice sausage and slovenian sausage. This is a generational family tradition for new year dinner. This year, someone changed the spices used in the rice sausage. Very heavily spiced and peppered. Some of us could not finish. Very disappointed, drove 35 minutes to get to this place after seeing a ad in the local paper. The young guys behind the counter were very nice but there products were not very good at all, the Homemade sauerkraut was very thick like ooze, not what you want in a great sauerkraut, there sausages which I placed on the grill. They came out looking pretty good BUT were LOADED and I DO MEAN OVERLOADED with SALT. Way way too much, I seen a picture they had of Michael Symon inside but Im sure Michael NEVER would want SO MUCH Salt in his sausage especially fresh sausage. Super cool place staffed by super friendly people. Went here today for lunch on a whim with my coworker. We both had bratwurst sandwiches which were fantastic and a great value. Had mine plain on a soft roll with stadium mustard. Tons of products available to eat on the spot or take home with you. They also have a nice variety of food products from Europe. This store is definitely much more than a sausage store. It's like a visit to a meat store and convenient store in Europe. I didn't have chance too visit this place in person but I would love too. Raddells shop was result of my search, how to feed my cravings for Slovenian food?! Luckily this research ended up pretty good. My family and my friends know one thing about me for shure, and that is, I don't tako no as an answer. Nothing is impossible for me. It started long time ago, when I moved to Slovenia and slowly discovered and falling in love with this beautiful country. Part of that heritage is Kranjsa klobasa, their protected product. After calling few people and doing my web research I discovered this place and decided too give them a shot. Gentlemen who answered the phone is current owner and grandson of founder. He continued tradition. I like that. He answered my question very polite and honest. He understood that I am taking my food very seriously. And I appreciate that. He led me too the web shop of their own and it was very easy to set order. I ordered some Slovenian sausage and Potica. They arrived very fast. Couldn't wait to try it so I cooked sausage as it was directed. It was good. I understand that spice and meat here have different taste, and it can not be original taste for shure. But I know that I didn't have problem with digestion as I usually have with sausages. I eat those with mustard and horseradish as it should be. Potica looked good. I ordered wallnuts one. I have never purchased anything from there until last week I normally go to there competitor Asmans but they were on vacation so i went to Raddell's and bought 4 pounds of Bacon the Bacon was so bad and fatty that when i reached my destination in Pittsburgh PA for our annual cousins party this year in Pittsburgh we had to go out and buy more Bacon because the Bacon I bought was total FAT I am very disappointed in Radell's I heard many nice things about them but it was terrible what they sold me I didn't look at the person cutting it fresh off the slab but I wish I would have I never would have paid for total FAT what a shame read more

Holy smokes! Killer Slovenian! They serve sandwiches up until 2:45. I got mine with a coke and a smile for $3 and change. I do have a background in bread and can be a snob at times because of it. The sandwich came on the blandest of all hotdog buns, but with their sausage it works great. Nothing distracts from bliss of the smoked kobasie. I tried a little dried link that was also superb. I wish they would have had a small bite of the blood sausage cooked up so I could have sampled it, I've been wanting to try it for a while and I bet Randell's would have been a great place to do so. read more

You've never had any sausage this good in your life - it's the most flavorful, tender, and delicious meat that exists. Cooking tip: boil water, put sausages in water, reduce to simmer, and slowwwww cook these angels in casings for at least 2 hours - the longer, the better and more tender. We are regular customers and were so disappointed this week. We went to purchase Slovenian smoked sausage and rice sausage. I cooked the rice sausage the way I always do and we sat down for dinner. I took a couple of bites and didn't like it and then looked at my husband and he said "this isn't the same and it isn't very good". I agreed with him and we chose to toss it out. I then made the Slovenian smoked sausage and the same thing happened. We are convinced that something has changed in the recipe for both items and it isn't an improvement. As my husband said, we should have known something was wrong when we weren't greeted with the usual wonderful aroma when we entered the shop. Based on this experience we will NOT be going back and do not recommend them at all. Very sad and what a waste of money. read more
