We've had great experiences with AZ's best for jobs ranging from small to large. When we purchased our previous home, the seller informed us that they had the pipes hydro-jetted every 6 months to prevent a slow drain. So, when the kitchen sink was beginning to drain very slowly, we called and requested to schedule hydro-jetting with AZ's best. Shaq arrived and explained that the issue would likely remain and hydro-jetting was not advised, but that installing a vent would solve the problem. We made the mistake of avoiding his advice and proceeding with hydro-jetting. Unsurprisingly, the issue remained and the slow drain began to guconstantly. We called Shaq and scheduled to have a vent installed, which ended up fully resolving the issue. Since then, we sold our previous home and purchased a new one. We had Shaq install a new tankless water heater to replace a 16-year-old 75k gallon and are very pleased with the result. Overall, I would highly recommend AZ's best for solid work at a reasonable cost. read more

I've used AZ Best Pipe Plumbing Dr before and had a great experience. The 2nd time I asked how much it would cost to replace/install a water heater. Chris the owner said he would send someone to do an estimate and did not tell me once there would be a service fee $182. Matt came and did an estimate and advised me it would be $500 to install a new water heater if I purchased one. Then he said he said the $182 would be used towards the install if I did it within 2 weeks. When I got the actual estimate it said it was $650 cost, which was not what I was told. 2 days later Chris the owner came and did the water heater install. He did do a good job until he charged me the $650 and would not use the $182 as a credit which is what I was told by Matt. He said that the $182 was a service fee to tell me what the issue was and that was a cost for his plumber to do an estimate and gas cost. I advised him that I already knew what the issue was which is why I asked him in the beginning what the cost would be to install a water heater which would have saved the plumber the trip. He only used some of the money from the service fee instead of all that I was advised would be used. Versus honoring what I was told for the incorrect cost of the install, in addition to using the full $182 service fee towards the actual service you lost a customer. Next time be honest and transparent about your costs. Do not price gauge your customers and back pedal on what was actually told by your employees. read more

I did business with AZ Pipe Dr because when I bought my house in 3/2022 the previous homeowners used them so I thought there was value in using the same company. I'm done using this company and it's because of one of the owners, Chris Russell. The guy is a salesman who tries to price gauge his customers. If you get Chris, shop the market because he's going to try to and charge you way over market or he will say something is broken and try and upsell you. Shop and compare this company, they are overpriced and Chris is unethical. I think the comment below from Wendy addresses one issue, which another company was able to service it. However, it doesn't address the concern about other projects Chris has quoted. Or the time he came to my house and said he didn't have insurance to install a glass shower door, which makes no sense. Wendy is Chris's family so she will be loyal to him but PLEASE shop this company, don't get ripped off! read more

Didn't have the best luck with this company. Our tankless water heater was throwing an error code and I had a super full schedule so didn't have time to do much research about it, just needed to get it fixed. Called AZ's Best and they were able to get someone out to our house that same day, which was great. Took 30 minutes, charged us $350. I was pretty shocked by that price but what's done was done. I went to take a shower the next day and we didn't have hot water again. AZ's Best came out once more but couldn't find a problem and suggested we contact the gas company as it might be a pressure regulation issue at the gas meter. Gas company came out that day, took a reading, everything was fine. Still no hot water the next day and at this point I didn't want to call AZ's Best Back because they'd had two chances to get it right. I finally had time to do a little google search and saw that sometimes a dirty inlet filter causes the problem we were experiencing. Surely for $350 the inlet filter had been looked at, though? I decided to check it out and spent 2 minutes accessing the filter and wouldn't you know - it was dirty. I cleaned it out and that solved the problem. I can't believe we were charged THAT much money and it didn't include simply checking the inlet filter. read more

I was with Diane B. The technician replaced the housing. The house was vacant for the entire month of September. We she returned home a new filter had arrived for installation. The water pressure was relieved and the housing removed. The O ring was not in the groove but was stretched beyond. The technician refused to make a visit even though Diane would be without water until at least 8 the next morning. The tech told her that lubrication would make the o ring fit . No amount of lubrication can make an o ring shrink. It was obvious to Arizona Central Plumbing Supply, Ace Hardware and myself that the o ring was installed improperly. I was able to purchase a replacement and install it myself. It is obvious the pipe doctor cannot be relied on to honor their work. It is poor business practice to blame the customer. I have dealt with many plumbing outfits and this one has the absolute worst customer service. A complaint will be filed with the Registrar of Contractors. read more

Yesterday, a competitor came out to clean my kitchen drain for a bargain rate and could not do the job. They said that I needed Jetting, visual inspection, pipe cleaning and more. I thought they were a good responsible company, I was wrong. They replaced the housing on my filtration system, it was cracked and leaking. The system was less than 3 years old, they did not replace the One Ring. One month later we tried to replace the filter, the One Ring was very thin, and very stretched out, it was way too big for the housing, therefore, it could not be used, and I was without water. They were immediately notified that this was an emergency, it was about 3:30 PM, they did not care that I was without water, they would come the next day. We brought the housing along with the One Ring to two reputable establishment, they both told us it was completely stretched out. The second establishment had a One Ring that fit. We were able to change the filter. I had water; Russell from Pipe Doctor, came the next day, told me it was my fault, it wasn't stretched out, and I caused the leak, he was rude and yelling, There was no leak, I told him this four times, the filter was being changed, the water was turned off. he just kept repeating the same thing, and yelling, I told him to leave. this was the second Filtration system I bought from them, When they replaced the housing they told me to replace the system on its 5th birthday. I will never use this company again, Shame on you, Pipe Doctor Plumbing. read more

Although the water heater was a few years old, it was still in warranty. For much less than a new hybrid heater, we replaced our old one that needed frequent service. read more

I love my Rennai Tankless Water Heater. I can take a shower following my wife and kids and still have all the hot water I want. As an added benefit, I save significantly on my gas bill as well. My townhouse has a tankless hot water heater that is great but it would take 90 seconds to get hot water to the upstairs. AZ Best Pipe Doctor installed a recirculating pump that works off a motion sensor that now gives me hot water in less than 5 seconds. It took three service visits to get everything right due to pre-existing issues with my tankless hot water unit but it was seemless service. I don't live in this part of the woods so when I needed some work to redo the bathroom in a commercial building I called this company because I had seen some good reviews on the net. Well I first talked with Randy and she told me they would be glad to go out and take a look. What I thought was so cool was they actually helped me to pick out the right sink and faucet, then pointed to how I could order it and ship it to them. Later they even told me the owner master plumber Chris was going to be out of town and they wanted to make sure I was ok for their son to do the work. Well he did the work quickly and when I got the bill it was very reasonable for the time and care they spent helping me out through all of this. We had a plumbing emergency at 3pm the day before Thanksgiving and had to shut the water off to the whole house. . I had previously called a big name plumber that quoted me over $500 to "fix" the problem. When I called Pipe Doctor and explained the situation, the lady I spoke with was not only empathetic and understanding of our situation, she dispatched a tech to the house that night. When Mike came out, he was able to fix the problem so that we could turn the water back on to the house. The service call was absolutely affordable (1/4 the cost of the company we called beforehand) and they didn't try to stiff us with an emergency fee or holiday fee.....we ABSOLUTELY will recommend Pipe Doctor to anyone that needs a reliable and honest plumber. read more

They installed a sink and faucet set and also moved a water line during a kitchen remodel several years ago. More recently I had a leak near the water meter. I needed a new garbage disposal and I wanted to hire local family owned but a reasonable price. After talking to these folks I know I had a winner. They told me how to save money by buying the garbage disposal myself and told me exactly what to get. When I told them on the phone that I wanted to use the coupon they told me that all I had to do was mention it and not have to go through the hassle of all the clicking and what not. Called to get service on our tankless water heater that was working intermittently. The charge for the callout was $375 for an hour of work. The guy didn't fix the problem and tried to up sell a new heater at a price of $3800. Called my trusty local plumber who offered 3 different solutions (all at a much lower price) and charged nothing for the diagnostic. read more

PLEASE: If they tell you the part is no longer under warranty---call the maker yourself! Chris FLAT OUT LIED & said it was no longer under warranty, but it was. BE SURE they quote you their service fee ahead of time so you do not have to pay $375 for a 10 minute visual inspection. I can't get my money back, but I hope to save someone else from being defrauded by this company! Also, DO NOT sign on their tablet!! Make them produce a paper invoice before you sign anything. They will take your electronic signature & add it to their invoice after the fact--an invoice that now includes disclosures saying you cannot dispute the charge. The Long Version: I had AZ Best Pipe Docs come look at my tank-less water heater because it was leaking water. Christopher did a 10, MAYBE 15 minute, visual inspection after which he told me my tankless was ruined and needed to be replaced. I said okay, let me pay you for today and I will ask my husband what he wants to do. He swiped my card on his portable square and as I was signing I noticed I was being charge $375. I asked why such an egregious fee for not even 15 minutes of work where no actual labor was performed? He said not to worry, because that $375 would go towards the $2500 cost when I use them to install my new water heater. I said, "What if I find it cheaper with another company?" He said that's why the charge the high fee....too many people were calling them out for a free diagnostic and not using them for the replacement, so they were eating the cost of the free diagnostic visit. (I should have asked him, "Why not charge a normal service fee of $60-$75 for diagnostic visits then?!?!?") He then told me the part itself was $1800, so no point in calling other companies for a quote because labor would all be about the same. I mentioned that I thought it might still be under warranty since it is only 9 years old and they are supposed to last for 25 years. He immediately and specifically told me I was 1 year & 1 month past warranty. I took him at his word & went ahead and signed and told him to put me on the schedule to install a new one. They sent me an invoice that listed the type of tank-less that would be installed. I researched the exact model number they gave, and found that it was available for purchase for $785 on Amazon---$1000 less than he quoted me. Plus, it is a smaller, inferior water heater than the one I currently own. After discovering that lie, I researched what other possible lies I was told. So I called Rinnai (the company who made our tank-less water heater), they had no record of a technician calling on my heater (you have to call with a specific code to check warranty, so they would have record of his call). Rinnai told me it WAS still under warranty and they would pay to fix it! I did not need a new one after all! I asked as a courtesy if AZ Pipes would split the bill (which still gives them $185 for 15 minutes of work and gas to drive to my house). They flat out refused. I cannot get my money back, but I will make it my mission to ensure others are not defrauded as I was. I hope to spare anyone else from paying $1500 PER HOUR to this company. After attempting to dispute the charge through my credit card company, AZ Pipes informed me I had signed away my rights to dispute the charge. They took my electronic signature from the tablet and super-imposed it to an invoice and added the fine print stating that I was waiving my rights to dispute. That fine print was never on the tablet I signed. read more

Someone recommended the Pipe Doctor to someone else on Facebook just when I needed a plumber to fix a pressure valve. I had received some pretty expensive quotes to replace the valve. I call Pipe Doctor, after a couple of emails exchanged, they suggest that it could be repaired. Sure enough, Pipe Doctor repaired the valve at a fraction of the cost. what an unethical company. I had this company come out to repair a steam shower. they 'stated they were experts on steam units'. after the first visit, they called the manufacturer of the steam unit for repair advice and of course ' they had a better solution' for the repair. I paid for the work, and the next day the unit did not perform. called them back, this time they took the unit to fix them ( now, I already paid for the job) and after a few other issues they send me a bill for over $1700.00. NEVER even discussed prices with me. as I already paid for the work prior that was not properly done to manufacturers specifications. STAY FAR AWAY, as my attorney's will have to get involved and the registar of contractors. guess I should have read these YELP reviews prior, looks like this is not the first time for these boys !! read more

I own a landscape company here in Phoenix and I needed two commercial back flows replaced within two days. These guys did an awesome job. Chris did a great job communicating through the whole process. They were the best company I've worked with in the valley as far as there communication. EDIT: My original review was posted almost a year ago. We have been using Pipe Doctor for 2 years now and have been loyal customers. Unfortunately, I have had to take my review for them from 5 stars to 2 stars. It seems Pipe Doctor no longer cares to retain their customers. The problem started when I suspected our water softener wasn't working properly. I scheduled an appointment to have it looked at and they NO SHOWED us! After calling the office, the new girl answering the phone (what happened to Randi??) told me that their scheduling system was "down" and rescheduled for the next day. Ok, no big deal..things happen. The next day, a guy (also new) came out to look at the softener. He wasn't familiar with it at all, even though his company is the one that installed it, and had to call the manufacturer to find out what was wrong with it. Turns out the machine hadn't been set up correctly and wasn't working since the first week it was installed! (we paid $1200 for the system!). I asked him if he would mind fixing a running toilet while he was here and he said sure....but left after reprogramming the softener and never fixed the toilet. Just my luck...2 days later said toilet overlfowed and flooded our bathroom! I called the after-hours line and was told that we lived too far for them to come out that night and that I should call the office to schedule a visit. I was ok with that except that Chris also said "how did you get our info?" with an attitude that said "why are we bothering with you?" I guess he didn't realize that they've been helping us for 2 years and never had an issue driving to our house?? The toilet issue was on a Thursday. I called Friday to schedule a repair...and Saturday...and Monday...and Tuesday....and never received a call back to schedule. Seriously? I've been nothing but courteous through the whole ordeal but if they can't bother calling back a REGULAR customer, why should I bother to continue as such? I had family coming Wednesday and couldn't waste any more time with them. I called 602-PLUMBER (recommended by a neighbor) and they were there in 2 hours. Was that so hard? It's really a shame, as we are planning a major bathroom remodel and had hoped to use them for that project. Very disappointed. We needed a leaking hose bib replaced last spring so we called Pipe Doctor after reading good reviews online. We've had a lot of bad luck with contractors in Phoenix, but after using Pipe Doctor could NOT be happier with the service, quality of work, or prices!!! We've had 2 separate plumbers come out and both of them were extremely knowledgeable. They've not only done the work right, but they've pointed out things to us that past plumbers did incorrectly and we were able to remedy some of those issues. We're having them install a water softening system next because their quote was very reasonable and they use quality parts from a local manufacturer (none of the stuff that the scam artists sell door-to-door). These guys are true pros and really remind me of why I like to give my money to local family-owned businesses. They take pride in their work, don't overcharge, and are super nice every time we call. Our salt water softener was working poorly. We called Pipe Doctor Plumbing and the owner/master plumbing came to our house, took the time to sit down with us and explain options. He recommended we put in a new salt-free carbon system. He was prompt, courteous, no pressure, and in spite of being VERY knowledgeable, he explained things in a very understandable fashion. Our water tastes and smells SO much better. It was definitely the right road to take. Earlier we had two new toilets installed and are very happy with their efficiency. These people are the real deal.....no "extra charges", very honest and experienced. We will call them again for sure if needed. read more
