Pretty disappointed in our experience with Aztec! We had them come out for a carpenter ant problem. Their website mentions a full house inspection but our technician did not do a search inside our home. We had been finding carpenter ants (started out with 30-50 a day, including winged ants) throughout our house with no obvious trail or idea where they were coming from. He believed the problem was external so he only did a perimeter spray. I was warned that it can take 30 days for the poison to be brought back to nest and wipe them out. It has been nearly 30 days and the problem has continued to get worse. I reached out multiple times and expressed my concern of a satalite nest inside the home somewhere but have just been told to wait 30 days. We were out of town for 36 hours and came home to 90 live ants throughout the house (this was 19 days after treatment). After that, we ended up contacting another pest control service to come out. They were WAY more thorough and seemed more invested in helping solve our problem. They searched inside our home and attic which Aztec did not do. read more

Sam is great! Aztec has helped us with ants around the kitchen sink, cockroaches left behind by tenants, rodents in the attic, and springtime fleas and things in the yard. Never a contract, just treatment that works. The ant and roach treatment included followups for a period of time if needed, and I think I had them do a second application for the ants. They have my loyalty for life after getting rid of those roaches as fast as they did. If you are a DIY type, they will suggest things you can do to prevent problems going forward. read more

We just had another friendly service call from Aztec. Our technician, Scott called ahead to see if we would be available a bit earlier than our scheduled time. He was very kind and knowledgeable, and our little dogs didn't even bark at him! Scheduling with Aztec is easy and I love that there are no contracts. They guarantee their treatment for three months, but I've never had to call them back in. One treatment a year usually does the trick. We recommend Aztec very highly. Our only other experience was with another company that required quarterly visits, and yet somehow their techniques were not nearly as effective as Aztec's. read more

It was time to move on past our traditional pest control service. We never had any issues but wanted to elevate beyond chemicals that we felt were harming more than the enemy insects. My Aztec phone intake was handled by Rob. He was friendly, professional and informative. Their system and pricing seemed attractive. David came to our house. He explained a lot and answered all my questions up front. From that conversation and looking at our house, he suggested a plan that sounded good then went for it. The service took about a half hour. No surprises and the price was as suggested. Good guy. I will definitely use Aztec and David again when some time has passed or we see more than a few invaders. So here goes....we had used this company a couple to few years back and the first service/guy who came out was great. Then the next year, it was time to get the spray done again and they did such a TERRIBLE JOB. I mean, literally only went in one room and then left. When we paid for the same service we had gotten before that was every room and crevice in and out of the house. We let it go, but then ants were EVERYWHERE again within a month. We called them back and had to basically force them to come respray our house because of their error and they had a sour attitude about it. And yet again, they only sprayed where we saw the ants. Customer service is extremely RUDE. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. read more

Great service-no overselling it! Their products are actually non toxic unlike what other companies advertise (no Pyrethroids are not organic or pet and people safe). I usually only need sprayed twice a year although i needed some repeat sprays (which were free of charge) after getting new sod which came with a bunch of roaches. This company is great! We were suffering from a severe fire ant infestation in our yard that moved into our home, needless to say we needed help ASAP! We always use organic products as much as possible and we're excited to find this gem in Austin. They got us in really fast, and the team member who came out was professional & a super nice guy. They even offer a 3 month warranty, which we had to use because we live in the country, but they never came back inside the house. Only downside is they charge $50 extra to travel to dripping from Austin, which is a bit steep, but all in all a wonderful company. read more

I love Aztec Organic Pest Service. I have used them for ants more than anything. I don't know how those sneaky little bugs find their way into my house about once every couple of years but they are clever as heck. I think they are looking for water most of the time because they end up in my bathroom or under the kitchen sink. I can count on Aztec to cut them off at the pass (literally)! I have two cats and lots of young kids in my family so organic and safe really matters to me but I am not a true hippy because I do want the bugs dead. With Aztec, I get both - LOL! I have used them for roaches and to knock down the bugs in my yard. I had an outdoor light fixture which had somehow become the housing development for a whole bunch of wasps one time. No matter the pest, I just call Aztec and they take care of it... so I don't have to! read more

We've been using Aztec for about 5 years, and have never had a bad experience. Mostly have them come around once a year to keep the American roaches at bay. The house is old and full of nooks and crannies, and I reached the sad realization a while back that there was never going to be a way to fully stop them from coming in from time to time, but thanks to Aztec when they do come in, they don't last long! One winter we got some rodents in the attic, and Aztec got them squared away for us, too. Scheduling has always been easy and friendly, pricing is very reasonable (never an upsell or anything), and the techs have been prompt, thorough, and courteous year after year. We used Aztec Organic pest control for 2 years with very ,very good results. We have seasonal infestation of those horrid flying roaches common in the Austin area. But the 3rd year we had to call them back for 2 re-treatments. Each time I was suspicious that the new technician assigned to us was not actually doing a thorough job. The third time convinced me that he was not doing much of anything. I arrived home just as he was leaving. I did not see the usual evidence of treatment and he lied about treating the garage. He did not ask a family member who was at the house to open the garage door so there is no way he could have treated it. We still have the problem after spending nearly 300 for the treatment. I can't even tell you how their services are, because I couldn't get past the horribly rude woman at the front desk to move forward. I called yesterday (4/10), to ask questions about flea treatment for apartment and pups. Admittedly, I did ask quite a few questions and she curtly asked me to read the website and then call back if I had more questions. I read the website, and right at the top of the flea treatment page it says "please read all of this before calling." Fair enough, my bad. There was a line in the article I found very confusing, so I called and left a voicemail asking for clarification. I called the next day to follow up and ask a question about the product they recommended. The same woman answered, gave a short (and probably the least clarifying) response, and when I asked her to explain she got flustered and very rudely said "I have to go! I'm on the other line!" I just hung up on her out of frustration. Why answer if you're on the other line? Or maybe politely ask me to hold? Not even from a customer service standpoint, but from a human to human standpoint this was crappy behavior, and I cannot believe any business would be okay with this. read more

***NOT AN ORGANIC PEST SERVICE *** Hmmm...I'm very glad I ignored the Yelp reviews and asked a lot of questions before hiring Aztec to handle my pest problems. (Sometimes I wonder if the people who write these reviews are straight out lying or if they just live an oblivious life). That being said, here's the scoop: Aztec is NOT an organic pest service company. To claim they're organic is false advertising to the max and I don't appreciate it. While they do have a few plant based/natural products they mainly use non-organic synthetic products throughout the house, and only use synthetic products on the exterior because the natural ones according to them "don't work". They might offer a good pest service, but it will be a toxic service. I just wonder why is Aztec advertising itself as being organic and using environmentally friendly products when it's clearly not doing so? *****NEW MOM HAD AN AWFUL, INEXCUSABLE EXPERIENCE!***** This was an absolutely awful experience. I had booked Aztec on August 25th for a complete service's, spiders, ants, you name it. I also paid over $200 for this service. As a new Mother, I wanted a service that would be safe and effective. I also wanted to support a local business. Not only was the service NOT EFFECTIVE, Aztec refused to come out and take care of the returning pests unless (of course) I paid $150. The lady who represented Aztec Pest Control actually said that I only requested roach treatment-not true, I even have the paperwork that says so. I am so upset and feel downright swindled. I will even be voicing my concerns with the Better Business Bureau, Yahoo, and Angie's List and the Texas Department of Agriculture to insure that this type of dishonest business does NOT prey on others. Five years ago Dave from Aztec took care of some bees in my backyard. At that time, he said I should plug the opening between the timbers so they didn't come back. I forgot, ignored it, didn't do it. They came back. To the same spot. But, it took them 5 years. I emailed Aztec, Dave still works there, and he came and got rid of them again. This time I'll pay attention and plug that opening. I feel some remorse, but I have fears of bee stings, and I love my patio. All aspects of my interactions with Aztec were pleasant and they'll be the first place I contact if I need services of this sort again. read more

I have seen the Aztec logo on the neighbors car for two years now, and then I read the raving 4-5 star reviews, then called you for my first... and it was not so good. Your staff is ummm how do I put this, "not helpful?" I called you sooo many times to get information and schedule my treatment, when I finally got you on the phone you spent less than 3 minutes explaining to me where my $350 was going. I was really hesitant but decided hell, I ll trust my fellow yelpers. The pest control guy came out and it took him less than 5 minutes to spray my 1800 sq ft home, he couldn't answer any of my questions, and then left me with some silly invoice that looked like my 7 year old niece did the graphics for you. Salila is always prompt returning my frantic calls regarding critters invading our yard. This time it's fleas! They are here early and my cats are none too happy. Plus, I found one crawling on me after hugging my boy cat. Eek! Dave came exactly when we asked for him and sprayed Nematodes throughout the yard. Yesterday evening I saw two giant cockroaches in my house and absolutely wanted to die. I recognize that they're pretty innocuous as far as creepy crawlies go, but tell that to my sweating palms and shaking legs whenever one of those sneaky little SOBs pops out of freaking nowhere. I'm pretty sure I have a phobia. So yeah, at 9 a.m., after a pretty sleepless night, I started calling pest control services. I figured nobody would answer (today's Labor Day,) but I could at least leave messages. When Aztec picked up on the second ring, I was shocked. I talked to Salila who was a combo of concerned and amused when I said I was legitimately going to stay in a hotel until the roaches were gone. When she offered to send a guy out today, I was so happy I wanted to cry. David arrived right on time and is such a neat guy. He is full of knowledge on all kinds of things and went above and beyond to check out all potential hidey holes. (There aren't too many, given that my apartment is about 490 square feet.) He concluded that my windows are new, my attic insulation is great, and the two cockroaches I saw were probably just the result of leaving the front door open too long bringing in groceries. However, because I have such a low (ZERO) tolerance for roaches, he went ahead and sprayed. Whatever it is they use is is pet safe, so that's a huge perk. And, if I have any problems within the next 3 months, I'm "under warranty." I have zero idea what is a standard price for this kind of service, but it was very worth my $135 to have peace of mind and a bug free house until cooler weather sets in. Aztec, thank you, thank you, thank you. Now I get to cancel my hotel reservation. It's a Labor Day Miracle. read more

I have used Aztec Organic Pest Service for the past 15 years. I rarely have to use them, maybe once every few years, because their organic pest control methods do just that - control pests. Plus, I always get some useful information on what I can do to prevent further problems. Rob in the office is so, so helpful, friendly and smart! He recently helped me over the phone to recommend products for mosquito control in my garden. Salila, the owner, is amazing. Thanks to Yelp recommendations, I called Aztec for a termite inspection. See, I hadn't had an inspection done since I bought my house (late 2005), and I'd seen some things (small, winged things, to be more precice) that had called me concern. So I called them and made an appt. for today. The operator was quick and helpful. They said they'd arrive "between 8 and 10." Ahh...the beloved 2 hour arrival window. I know it well. Usually when a service company says that, they end up arriving within the last 2 minutes of the window, or missing the window completely and not even calling to apologize or give a status report. But not today, he showed up around 8:40, was polite and professional, and even kind of cute!! (Hey--I'm old and attached, but I'm not dead!) Luckily for us, the inspection didn't indicate the presence of any termites, so we're safe for now. So this review isn't really about whether or not their extermination service works. But any time I get treated like my time is valuable by a service company, then that's aces in my book. read more

Disclaimer - I haven't used them - just talked to them. And thats why I didnt use them. Young man you answered the phone was arrogant. Very annoying when you are being asked to spend over $300 for a single roach treatment. I think I can get it done for less. He said, well why don't you? And I said because the people doing it went out of business". Then he says "no, they didn't". I don't need the aggravation, I already have some annoying pests. Your mileage may vary, but no friggin way I'm going with someone who cant even be polite on the phone. By the way, I'm sure pest control companies go out of business for different reasons... but in the case of the company that had been doing a regular service for us, it wasn't because they didn't get rid of the roaches. I have had carpenter ants living in my windows for years, I know I should have dealt with it sooner. Aztec came out and they were gone almost immediately and have not show any recurrence in a month. Horrible customer service!!!I paid $211 and basically the cockroaches never went away. They came one more time to spray but it didn't work either. When I called and talked to Selena. I was concerned that the treatment was not working and all she kept telling me was that I was "out of warranty" and that I need to "pay again." I was trying to tell her that my concern was not the money but how will the treatment work this time around. She gave me no response. All she kept saying was that I needed to pay again. And when I asked how can I be sure this time it will be different, she got annoyed and said she was going to hang up and I could go and argue with someone else. Not only their treatment does not work well but all they care about is that you pay agan. Very demeaning customer service, to say the least. read more

I gotta launder my creepy-crawly karma after hiring these guys, but hey -- they got rid of the roaches in this built in 1937 house. I had them come out in late April and no more roaches. I wanted to hold off on my review until we weathered this cruel, cruel summer. I only saw one or two all summer and I'm assuming they died somewhere (hey!!! wanna come over??). The guy who treated the place was really cool and informative. He told me that what he was using was derived from I want to say geraniums. I could be wrong. I have to admit I have felt so guilty about the whole killing bugs thing that I became the cricket rescuer at my office. I even had "The Cricket Cup" for scooping them up. Until I can overcome my epic roach-freak out, I'll be running from the karma police and Aztec Organic will be my accomplice. read more

We had a serious flea problem over the summer in our pet-free apartment. Aztec treated our rug and carpet with a boric acid-based powder. We were skeptical at first because tile and hardwood were left untreated, and weeks went by without any change. But eight weeks later the bugs were gone for good! We've used Aztec a couple of times since our last review; the service is still good but their prices seem to have skyrocketed. When we first moved into our new house a couple of years ago for carpenter ants they charged $75 to get rid of them, but we had them out again a few weeks ago and they charged $195 this time for the same service in the same house. I'd used Aztec in the past for ant and roach extermination and had a satisfactory experience. I called back this past week for help with a flea problem and had a long-ish conversation with their customer service person that started out odd and ended up being outright inappropriate. It's way too much to recount here but the main points: - my name was entered incorrectly in their system. Not usual since my last name is hyphenated. It took several exchanges, including one in which she said "I'm just going to enter is as [xxx]" which was not my accurate. I had to say my full last name at least three times. - I felt talked over and interrupted the whole conversation. - In giving advice she contradicted herself several times in answering my follow-up questions, giving me the impression she didn't actually know the answer. - AT THE END: As we were getting off of the phone I mentioned that my next call was to my vet to find out how to nip my cat's flea problem in the bud as her regular treatment wasn't working. I had mentioned throughout this long conversation that my cat was old as was recently sleeping in strange places (in the context of IDing locations in the house to treat). UNSOLICITED this woman said to me "I'd try a different flea treatment. I know it can be hard on them but ***she's probably going to die soon anyway***."I was so taken aback that she would take the liberty of commenting on our beloved family pet like that that that I almost laughed and told her that I didn't appreciate her comment. She tried to back-pedal but in doing so also said that she only made that comment because I had spoken so "clinically" about my cat. Huh? I answered her questions about my cat. And furthermore, as the customer I expected an unqualified apology, not one that positions me as having elicited that kind of comment. It was completely bizarre and offensive, and led me to taking more time out of my morning to call another pest control service because at that point I had zero confidence in her advice. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because her instructions for a DIY solution to save me money were corroborated by the other service that I called. It is yet to be seen whether this solution works, but if it doesn't I'll be calling the second service back for treatment at my house. I'll never use Aztec again. read more
