**This is the review for my experience with ABC rodent and pest** I have been with ABC for rodent and pest control now for close to two years. I wish that I had parted ways long before now. I spent close to $1000 for rodent management where ABC was to come and seal up any potential points of entry into my home. They did a minimal, at best, job of sealing up my home. There were gaping holes that were never addressed. I had pointed it out on more than one occasion and was dismissed as if I knew nothing. I had another company out this week and found out all along I was indeed correct and discovered just how much ABC never did (but I had paid for). In addition I had asked about potential insect (termite or wood boring animal in reclaimed wood I have in a somewhat newly remodeled portion of my home) - I was told by ABC's termite and insect specialist it was the "foundation settling". The constant very fine powder under the reclaimed wood ceiling and no where else was the "foundation settling and nothing else" - wrong again! It's Post boring beetles. In regards to rodent management - they placed out bait boxes and that is about all. There is some valid dispute re: bait boxes and whether or not they will actually "control" the rodents/rats or if they instead attract them. One thing that should be noted is that with bait boxes, you have a poison ("safe" or not, it's still a poison) and if you have a dog or animal that goes after rats, or other critters in your yard that could get into your bait boxes like a squirrel (and ABC will tell you that can't happen - it does and I had a couple of dead squirrels most likely due to getting in the bait boxes), they risk being dosed second-hand thru that critter. ABC will not mention this. I was told it was essentially "impossible" for anyone or anything to get into the bait boxes and get the "stuff" other than a rat. Well, I am someone who recognizes that nothing is impossible and things do happen and those who think and act as if they don't are often the ones I need to be most wary of, it's a personal decision. A certain degree of cautionary respect is never a bad thing. They act as if the bait boxes are safe as they come. The other issue is that you shouldn't have to worry about or focus on baiting anything IF your home and any potential entry point have been properly and adequately sealed (unless you are in a particularly unique situation, in which case all the other companies I spoke with said they will do bait boxes, just not as a first choice and not as a standard "prevention" measure)! I personally feel that ABC is relying so heavily on these bait boxes because they are simply failing to do the work right the first time when they charge you a significant amount of money to seal and close off entry points to your home and baiting is an easy fix. For the pest management side of things, they are a bit pricier than others considering that you are paying for a service every 2 months when most companies are coming quarterly. And they will give you the hard sell on a contract etc. I felt as though I was dealing with a used car salesman. A nice one perhaps, but still a used car salesman. The reason standards call for quarterly treatment is to prevent a buildup of the pesticides in your environment and/or yard. Especially in an area with drought conditions and lower rain levels, the granules dispersed are more likely to persist for longer periods of time. The other companies (more than one) which I spoke with recently all handle their pest management quarterly but will come an additional time (so every other month) if you insist or just periodically if you happen to feel you need it. On a routine, standard basis though it is not advisable to continue to build up pesticides on such a frequent basis. The biggest problem I had with them however, was in their lawn and garden division. Overall there is just very little meaningful customer service to speak of. Our 15 year old HVAC system finally bit the dust, in the middle of the night of July 4-5th. I called ABC at 1 a.m. on the 5th and asked for both a salesman to quote the cost of replacement and repairman to come out first thing in the morning. Both people arrived between 9 and 10 a.m., no extra charge for immediate service (I do have an HVAC maintenance contract with them for $150/year and this is a benefit of that contract). The salesman, Larry Sellers, was professional and knowledgeable and no pressure. He gave me all the options from partial to full system replacement at various levels from builder grade to premium, and was able to quote prices immediately. When I chose a full 2-part system to replace our dinosaur, he was able to do the financing immediately, with no interest for 12 months! He said the first available appointment to install was 10 days out (it is Texas in July after all!) but said that ABC would repair my old AC to get it running in the mean time, at NO CHARGE. The repair tech replaced the motor and had the old AC working in about a half hour. Oh, and they had a cancellation so my new system was installed on the 7th! The installers, Reuben and Cole, did a great job, cleaned everything up when they were done, gave me a tutorial on the new thermostat and even told me how to keep the drain line clog free with a simple quarterly maintenance solution. Love the new Lennox system, and the pricing was in line with what I found through online research of various companies for Lennox systems (I had to do something with my time once I was up at 1 am, right?!) We've also used ABC's services for plumbing repairs, appliance repairs, and sprinkler system repairs - all were done efficiently and at prices which are industry standard for this area - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive, and the customer service is always EXCELLENT. We have had one experience with miscommunication and the wrong technician was sent out to service my gas range - but they apologized, told me I had spoken on the phone with a newly hired person who was receiving additional training, resolved the issue and got my stove fixed the very next day. Mistakes happen, but how they are resolved determines whether I continue to do business with a company. Yesterday I used ABC Handyman services for window washing - they sent 3 people and were done in an hour and a half. I have 13 windows (all ground floor) which were VERY DIRTY and they did inside and out, and cleaned all the screens. Now they shine! I don't know what they usually charge, as this was a special for up to 15 windows for $199. Worth every cent! We will continue t use ABC Services, and I highly recommend them, especially if you are big on great customer service and knowledgeable repairman and installers, and are ok with reasonable but but not necessarily cheapest price. This is regarding handyman services. Requested two corners of fascia board to be replaced, maybe 12-15 linear feet altogether. Speaking to the estimator, Bob, I understood the 4hr minimum and a potential for overtime charges. Fine, I know the job could be done easily in 4hrs because I've done it myself but just don't feel like doing this kind of work any longer. So I get a call from the "technician", Dan, who immediately, I mean immediately begins to tell me that a half-day will definitely not be enough time to perform the work. I explained in detail what needed to be done and he began regaling me with his carpentry prowess. Great, I love good work and I am a pretty good carpenter also so I welcome and appreciate workmanship. Dan continued telling me any number of different reasons why he could not do the work in the allotted time. After expressing my frustration with their "estimating" process I point blank suggested that Dan come give me 4hrs of hard work and he could leave promptly thereafter to which he replied that he was "disinclined" and he didn't like dealing with "strong personalities". Well, cry me a river, Dan. I could go on in more detail but I want to get to the heart of the matter. Their "estimating" is lousy when they don't look at the job and tell customers about the 4hr minimum. It leads to precisely this kind of miscommunication. Additionally, it lends itself to precisely this kind of abuse with the "technician", before even seeing the job, is trying to add more hours. It is a bait and switch plain and simple. And, if anyone at ABC replies to this I will assure you the first thing out of their mouth will be about the lengthy time in business and their integrity as a cover for this lousy and abusive system. One last thing, as I was speaking to the "estimator" I determined that if the "technician" needed materials the time spent running to fetch them would be part of the 4hr minimum. So, I got the necessary lumber, paint and painting supplies, caulk, ladder and even set out saw horses, extension cord etc. They are sitting in my yard in position for the work. All that dude had to do was show up and provide 4hrs of work, exactly what I contracted for...not one thing more and certainly not for more hours before he even showed up for work. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

I have used ABC for about 7 years and overall I've been very pleased. They have always come when promised and will call my cell phone to let me know they are on the way so if I'm not home I can meet them. The first lawn person, Thomas, was awesome and I was sad he was changing his territory (for him it was closer to his home). But the second (& current) person, Clint, has been great. I met him to discuss what I expected the first couple of times and after that I felt comfortable that if I was not home he would handle the job as expected. He always calls ahead to see if I have any concerns I would like addressed. I also use them for pest control also but not as regularly and have been very pleased. Always professional, respectful and arrives as promised. The disappointment for me was when a bird got in the house, driving my cats crazy! I called expecting they would send someone immediately so the bird and cats would not destroy my house. But to my dismay, they wanted to make an appointment for a sales person to come to give me a price. The appointment would not happen for a day or two. ---I did not subtract a star for this because in the long run it saved me money. I used a 6 foot ladder, an extension pole for painting with a sheet attached to it and when the bird flew above the front door (cathedral ceiling there), from the ladder, I guided it with the sheet out the open front door. It's amazing what you can do when you have no other options! Recently, I've been having air conditioner problems and the home warranty service provider (not ABC) that we have a contract with has been beyond terrible. So I used points to have ABC come out and perform tuneups on both units and they identified the problem. Now I am waiting for the other service provider to authorize ABC to make the repair. I will cancel the home warranty and sign a contract with ABC for my heating and cooling needs. Unfortunately, mistakes happen but how a business handles them is what really counts. Any time I've had questions or concerns they have been responsive and handled them in a professional manner. A co-worker of mine says "If you're not making any mistakes you probably aren't doing anything!". read more

First off I want Robert Lares to know how pleased I am with the all the workmen, management, and support and sales staff my wife and I have been involved with at ABC. I've rarely (if ever) purchased a product where I've been so impressed with the company charged with the "fulfillment" end of the transaction as I am with ABC Home and Commercial Services. It's clear that both Lennox and Costco should be applauded for vetting the companies who they've entrusted to represent them in the field - to their buyers. Through every stage of the process (starting with the day we first encountered Lara Lares at the Lennox display in Costco), through the subsequent sales call and home inspection, and ultimately through the installation and final inspection (including the repair and replacement of my rickety, old wood attic ladder that got damaged with a top-of-the line aluminum ladder - expertly installed), it's clear that the underlying operating basis of ABC as a company is: "Customer Satisfaction is Our Goal". I want to especially give a nod to both Roberts - Stengel and Lares - for being so vested in making this a painless and happy process for Mandy and I. Both are warm, honest, decent and likeable guys and we're glad to have gotten to know them. We hope, and welcome, the opportunity to keep in contact - completely outside of the professional arena. I also want to say how great a job Doug Askew did on my attic ladder install. This man worked with the kind of attention to detail and precision as if he were working on a project for his own home and family. A true professional, a skilled craftsman, and a really nice guy to boot. My only regret is that I couldn't shake his hand in thanks at the end of the install due to the current Covid-19 blight we're all struggling with at present. Lastly, a nod to chief HVAC installer, Art, whose attention to detail and the aesthetics of the install is much appreciated. After doing lots of research online, I called several companies for bed bug remediation. Though the experience I would not wish on anyone, it ended up being as painless as it could be! I know that I made the best decision utilizing ABC and their service to eradicate my problem. From the initial inspection with Alan Brown, I was put at ease and all my questions and concerns were answered! In my opinion, Alan is the best marketing tool that the company has in promoting this business and making it prosper. His professionalism and his wealth of knowledge in entomology, provided me with a solid understanding of the task at hand and the best possible steps to take. Hannah and Layla in the scheduling department kept me informed of all appointment times and what to expect. I was given 30 minute "warning" phone calls for each arrival, which I requested but usually never receive from other service companies. During the pre-treatment walk-through, Jonathan Joubert "JJ" was cordial and professional; but also very informative and supportive (thanks, JJ, for the pep talk). And the technicians who actually performed the heat remediation service did so in the least intrusive and convenient way possible! (Thanks guys for putting that one candle I missed in the refrigerator so it wouldn't melt!) Finally, Emily Mitchell came for the first follow up check and was just as cordial and professional and helpful as well! None of the cosmetic issues to the house that I was informed of that could be a possibility happened -- NOTHING. But the fair warning that they were possible, just made me trust the company even more for being on the "up and up". Everything that I had hoped would happen, the complete remediation of the dreaded bugs, was done and I could not be more thrilled! Even though this experience was one I hope to NEVER have to go through again, I would recommend the ABC team whole-heartedly! Representatives from your company preformed landscape repairs at my property on March 6, 2013. Of all the estimates that I received concerning the repair to my lawn, your salesman was the most professional and comprehensive. He is an excellent representative for your company. In addition, it has been many years since I had someone stop after the job was completed to be sure I was satisfied with the work performed. That says a lot to me about your company and your level of quality that you put into your work. I would also like to let you know that the workers that were here to repair my lawn, were courteous, and very hard working fellows. They also represented your company well. Another thing that impressed me was the cleanup after the job was completed. There was not evidence that top soil had been delivered because they hosed the street down, The fellows also made sure that there were no remnants of sod anywhere. A person would never know that I had repairs done to my lawn other than seeing the new sod that replaced the ruts and the dead grass. Today, I received an email from your account specialist regarding the payment of the balance due after the job was completed. Since a contractor was paying for damages, I provided your specialist with the information she required to receive payment for the work performed. After she made the necessary telephone calls, she called me back to let me know that all was well. My point in telling you this---you have an employee that follows up on a situation. People promise many things in business these days but fail to follow through on their actions. I commend you for having such an employee that has great telephone skills, is very courteous and if she makes a promise, she delivers. It is my opinion that when individuals do a great job they should be recognized for it. All to often, people work their hearts out for companies and never receive the recognition that they deserve. I never leave bad reviews, regardless of how bad the service is. But in this instance I feel compelled to get the attention of the people in charge of customer service at this company. I have been a customer of ABC's for years. I used them for lawn service and pest control. Things were going well for many years, as the crews were the same and knew the property and the interaction with them was very minimal. In the last few weeks, things got really bad. First we noticed that they would send a different crew every time, and they would do the bare minimum and leave. A lawn service that would usually take 45 minutes would be done in 15 minutes or less. On one instance their lawn crew cut my low voltage wire while trimming bushes. They called to let me know about it, and when I told them that this is not the first time this has happened, they just hang up the phone. Their manager was nice enough to call me back and apologize, so we let it go. The very next week, another crew broke my automatic gate. Once again their manager had to come over and fix it, after spending time on the phone trying to tell him how to reset it. That was the last straw, so I ended up cancelling lawn service and keeping just their pest control. Today a new pest control person (George) shows up, and he also was new to the property. He could not figure out how to get out. Then he parks his car in the path of the automatic gate and breaks it. Had to go into the same routine with him over the phone on how to do a hard reset, so he can let himself out. Lawn and pest control services should be seamless and not require so much hand holding. Otherwise I would just do them myself and save myself the headache and the monthly cost. Once again I hate to leave a bad review but ABC's crews and service have gotten way worse over the years. I think they are growing too fast and not able to keep good crews around. They are stretching them too thin, and the focus is on volume and not on quality. read more

I'm so disappointing in their costumer service, this is the second time i used them, first time was good that they fixed my wire from the mirror. The second time i used them for my water heater, the guy name Mike came to the salon the first time and he said that he think that he "fixed" the water heater electrical cord that was kind of loose, the next business day our water was so cold by 11 am, we open at 9am-8pm. That was kind of bad for our clients to get their hair wash with cold water then i called back and they said that if someone else will come and check that will be an extra charge or i have to wait until next week with the same guy, i already gave a check for $194.85 for him to "think" that he fixed the problem and now that still not working want to charge me more? Really? Then i waited till Monday and he said oh you actually have a residential water heater that i can not do anything about it. Really? why didn't he tell me on the first visit that he came out? Maybe because he wanted to get paid for not doing anything. We just got an 80 gallon of the water heater, last year we got the 40 gallons so it should work fine. We owned a Hair Salon and if the client comes to the salon with a mess up color or cut and they walk out after few hours like that, do you think the client suppose to pay for something that wasn't fixed?We won't charge them no even a penny. I don't Think Mike knows what is he doing, also called many many times to Veronica costumer service and she only left me one message to call her back and when i did she never returned back the call. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND $$$$ CUZ THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX WATER HEATHERS AND THEY HAVE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES. read more

ABC is just awesome! To start off, I called two different companies for an inspection on my home because of some noises heard in the attic. The first company told me they didn't offer inspections and the second made me pay $250 just to have them go out to "inspect" . The money paid for the inspection was supposed to just go towards the contracted service. Once the guy came out he told me I had so many issues with my attic and had at least 4 different species living in my attic. Of course I was panicked! Then quoted me $1500 to remove all of the animals. We just bought our home and I was hesitant on spending that amount of money. I called ABC for a second opinion and not only was their inspection free of charge but their services where much more affordable and also came with warranty. The technician Samantha came to my home to preform the work and she was with out a doubt amazing! She sealed my home, was an absolute professional, and most importantly she was able to remove a family of squirrels from my attic. It was a two week battle but I am finally critter free! Samantha was so polite, knowledgeable, and truly an expert in dealing with wildlife. As a female I could not say I would be able to do what Samantha has accomplished. YOU GO GIRL! I am so impressed with her work ethic! And will not hesitate to call her for all my future needs! read more

I am not someone who usually takes the time to write reviews (although I always read them!), but this Company deserves to get a post from me after my incredible experience today. I called ABC out for an inspection that confirmed I had rodents in my attic. They were on time and very professional (as they have always been in all my previous experiences). Unfortunately for me, because they are so popular, I had to schedule out my appt to take care of the rodents much further out than I wanted to. I have 3 very young children and am pregnant, so I was very worried about waiting to take care of the situation for heath reasons (esp after speaking with my doctor). I called the main office and emailed, explaining my situation and asked if there was anyway an earlier appt could be accommodated given my personal situation. Immediately, the staff worked very hard to help out and arrange something earlier. I am so grateful for the responsiveness and for feeling that this Company truly cares. I will additionally post a review once the work is complete, but they definitely deserve 5 STARS for helping out a working, pregnant mom to keep her family safe. read more

We use ABC for pest control regularly and have been very pleased with that service. We decided to try them out for Christmas lights this year and were blown away with the service!! We worked with Kevin H. for the estimates... he gave us options and never made me feel bad for asking all the questions and getting different options to see what fit for us. Patricia V. confirmed the plan we wanted to go with and was so sweet and professional when scheduling. She gave us the option to have lights installed sooner if something came available and we were thrilled that they honored that. It worked out perfectly to have lights up the weekend after Thanksgiving. The crew led by Cesar B. was fabulous. They were very careful around our home and took care of the property while installing the lights and then went over the options for scheduling an on/off schedule. The lights look great and we are so excited it was such a great experience. We've had several folks ask about the lights already and gotten positive feedback from neighbors. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ABC FOR HOLIDAY LIGHTS!!!!! read more

I can not give enough stars to Brandon Hall with ABC. We had an electrical problem in our house on 2 separate plugs that showed an open ground. We were just about to go to close when this issue came up. I call ABC and they were able to schedule in a time that I was available to be home. Brandon showed up and was very nice from the start. I showed him the 2 plugs in question that the home inspection had found. One plug, located on the back porch was found to just be wired wrong. Brandon re-wired the plug and then moved to the next one in the bathroom upstairs. This one was a little more in-depth. Not sure the full details but I know Brandon was in the attic sweating like no other. It was around 99 outside, so I'm sure the attic was a cool 120 or better. Anyway, he was able to fix the problem and was never rude, and did not complain about the attic or the heat. I highly recommend ABC for any of their services. They are very professional and not at all hard on the pocket book. Also. If you need electrical work done and use ABC, ask for Brandon Hall. You won't be disappointed. read more

I've been using ABC for pest control for over 3 years. They only treat the outside and I usually dont see any issues. I have never seen an ant pile in my yard since. Every once in a while I'll see some tiny ants (sugar? crazy ants?) and they come out within 48 hours to place bait traps. A couple of times it rained right after they treat and with a phone call they come out within the next week to re-treat. They are pricey though. I've also used them to install a new Lennox AC/Furnace .... Billy did a great job sealing all my ducts and placing duct board in my air return to muffle the sound. He inspected all parts before he installed them and in fact found a sharp pinch in the coil which he refused to install and went back to get another coil. The most recent service call was to replace my water pressure regulator valve. I noticed a dramatic drop in pressure, I called the city and someone came out to do a pressure test and concluded my PRV needed replacing. ABC came out and replaced the valve and I had great pressure after that. read more

I was a loyal employee for 10 years. Ended up finding out my manager wanted me out, so he listened to a personal conversation I was having (via camera in the work truck) and took it completely out of context and accuses me of doing a "side job" which was bs. Why risk my job that I've held for 10 years over a cheap side job, doesn't make any sense. But since he and the branch managers are personal friends he got what he wanted, so I was terminated. Wouldn't recommend anyone to work at this place. Horrible management and lots of favoritism. Also nothing is confidential there. Not an hour went by, and even to this day, the manger Jesse is telling every employee the bs lie on why I was let go, like he is proud of it. He seems to forget there's still people there that know me so it gets back to me. This is very unprofessional, that's why I wouldn't recommend anyone to this company again!
