Here's my honest review, so I've never eaten at the restaurant itself so I can't speak for the ambiance. However what I can speak for is the food and service that I received. In regards to the food, I've had at least 50 percent of their menu. My favorite being the Chipotle chicken quesadilla with papa fritas (fries). The food for takeout is very good and beautifully presented. My family enjoys their food and only prefers this spot for Mexican food. The food is always well seasoned and delicious. For the service and pricing, the service has never been anything but kind. The reviews below me talk about a rude lady which I've never encountered. I've spoken to both genders when ordering and they have been kind and understanding. Even so much so to break down the order on price when I realized the price seemed high. Which brings me to pricing, this location is very affordable. You get good food and a great portion for a reasonable and fair price. There are other Mexican food locations that are much higher in price for the same quality of food. I encourage you to try this place and form your own opinion on it. I've never had a bad experience with this place and have been ordering once or twice a month for over a year and a half. But by all means try it for yourself. read more

I have been ordering from Aztec Soul since 2019. The food is authentic and extremely delicious! My go to are always the elote asado, nachos clasicos and the gorditas. This fine establishment has been my go to for when I'm in the mood for Mexican cuisine. I've tried other restaurants and nothing beats Aztec Soul. I needed some lunch while waiting for my car to be repaired down the block. I walked around the area and all I could find were bodegas for taking out food. I wanted a place to sit down and eat, that's when I noticed Aztec Soul. After looking at their menu I went in and ordered some Tacos al Pastor. Tacos al Pastor is one of my favorite tacos and my gauge as to how good a Tex-Mex restaurant is. Well I must say they make a very good Taco al Pastor here. The pork was seasoned just right and they also use pineapple. I've been told by an experienced Mexican chef that pineapple is not traditional on Tacos al Pastor because pineapples are not grown in Mexico. But most Tex-Mex places use it and I like the flavor combination. The flower tortillas were fresh and appeared to be home made. I also tried their hot sauces they were quite a good addition to my tacos. The restaurant was clean and appears to family owned and run. The next time I'm in the area at lunch time I'll be sure to stop in and try some of their other items. I was impressed with my first visit. read more

Aztec Soul is my go-to if the Taco shop near me is closed. Tostadas are a must here, they're delicious. I recommend the salted beef and the chicken w/ chipotle sauce. I've gotten the quesadillas here but the best one (in my opinion) is the shrimp. It comes with a side of sour cream and pico de Gallo (I believe?). Return to Aztec Soul to see if the customer service improved, and another worker older lady seem like she had it out for me as soon as I walked in. As if they had a discussion about me the day before. If you don't know what happened the day before check out my prior review. Anyway, I told the lady I want a "Huaraches" immediately said we don't serve people like you. WOW that was a shock, I said you can't do that because I could write a review about this store, she said with a smile on her face go right ahead, she added I'm glad we have something you can complain to. I said I will, in fact I can come here everyday knowing you won't serve me just so I can continue to add reviews. We can see how that goes, someone in the back said " porque todavía hablas con ese bago llama la policia" and they did, I was at work, and I know how the police behave when they're call on, for African Americans. So I was like before I get killed here in this store today let me leave. So yea I'm suppose I'm not allowed back in the store. But I'll continue to visit. I'll like to continue to update you. On a separate note, it is really frustrating dealing with this level of discrimination and racist especially from Hispanics. I mean as a so called black man we already trap by the macro system to have to deal with the discrimination from others who are them themselves are discriminated against is stupid. Not to mentioned I myself is a Mexican. Being from a city where there is a plethora of homestyle Mexican restaurants, I was happy to find this spot in BK. The menu is filled with options from tacos to tortas and more. Horrible customer service! I placed an order on seamless for delivery and saw they have an option for a burrito bowl, great! I placed the order and called to see if they can modify it and take off rice and beans (because i wanted it low carb) and asked if they can replace the rice and beans for something else. I am still paying full price for the meal, i never had any issues with a restaurant replacing items such as instead of rice and beans can get a slice of avocado or something else. But the the lady who answered the phone was EXTREMELY RUDE. She was argumentative over me asking about making my bowl low carb and still get my moneys worth. After finally agreeing that i'll still pay for a burrito bowl at its price without rice and beans she immediately hung up the phone. I wasn't done. She didn't ask if there was anything else or nothing. Just hung up the phone. I called back and told her i wanted to add to the order but she hung up the phone without me finishing what else i wanted. Then she proceeded to get loud and started arguing with me.....wow, unprofessional. I told her she was rude and need to learn customer service. Once i told her to cancel my order she said "well call them to cancel" I will never order from here again. ***Trust the other reviews, these ladies are nasty and have absolutely no respect** I wont patronize a buisness when theres people who work there with a stank attitude and cant comprehend what is customer service. I keep on coming back to this place once or twice a week, well doing mostly take out and deliveries but today came in again and to my pleasant surprise I realize compare to those delivered food, this coming out of the kitchen hot and steaminess is what makes it authentic and so darn good. This is my most favorite go to place for Mexican food hands down. The Gorditas are nice and crunchy outside and soft and moist inside have tried the chicken and the zucchini one and both were just on the money. My favorite chivos tacos I prefer simply nothing but a a squeezed lime and some hot sauce is a flavorgasm in my pallet ;) Also got the corn Elote which was also great. My recommendation: @ Chicken Authentica tostadas @ Chivos tacos @ Cheese and Queso Gorditas @ Elote sneered in Queso Fresca cream with fresh lime juice and some red pepper dusted on top. I truly wish the place was bigger or the lay out was more of a restaurant type with beer and wine at least. Also recommending the management to change their napkins specially for dine in people. I love when I come across a well run family owned business. Aztec has good Mexican food, friendly service and there are no long waits. The guacamole was flavorful, chunky with all your favorite ingredients. The chicken burrito was a hefty size with just the right amount of filing. The chalupa was my least favorite item I took home. The onions could have been cooked slightly and the shredded chicken was just "meat like". The deliver in the area and too possible could get lucky scoring a parking spot near the laundromat. The girl that works there is extremely rude. When you call to ask for some assistant she immediately becomes defensive. We are all dealing with hardships and if someone pays for a food service they should receive what they are paying for and should be told "its not her problem" and be told "well your food will not get delivered" and being hung up on. Really disappointing luckily I ordered through seamless and got my refund. Absolutely disgusted by the service. She doesnt realize the hard times people are going through its really unnecessary to be rude to people over food. To the owner who responded... I still stand by my review under no circumstances is it okay to be rude. Regardless of the situation I was not being rude your employee has a nasty and defensive attitude for no reason. They gave me the wrong protein and also was missing an entire order of another thing, and when I pointed that out, the person at the front desk showed attitude (rolling eyes, ignoring me) instead of trying to correct their mistake. I think it's about time I gave them a review. I hate to admit it but I order from them quite often. I really enjoy their chicken flautas and they are always hot. I have ordered chorizo, bistec and even shrimp tacos. They are all tasty and flavored. I absolutely LOVE their shrimp and salmon soup, it's spicy and delicious. Plus it comes with a side of rice to throw in or enjoy separately. My husband that rarely wants Mexican food enjoys their grilled chicken burrito. We almost always get their nachos and guacamole, never gotten a bad batch. The food has never been past the estimated time. The food has always arrived in good shape and the one time it was running about 15 min past the estimated time they called to let me know what was happening. Their sopes and huaraches are also good and filling. When I called the woman on the phone got a little accusatory with me thinking im just trying to get a free elote, like hunny plz i order from here 1 or 2 times a week why lie? Authentic mexican food (yes, I am mexican myself) the food is bomb when made correctly. Unfortunately it is not always made correctly. Several times i mean most of the time i get food from here it is missing something. Example today I bought a torta with everything but its missing lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Living in this area is rough! There are no options on delivery or food! When I found this place on Yelp I decided to try it only because they delivered. I'm all about delivery. They delivered my food quickly and my god! It was delicious!!!! I'm Mexican and from out west I have come to be fully aware that in New York City I'll never find Mexican food like out west. Yes! A new place to order from in the area. I had takeout with friends from Aztec Soul a few weeks ago. Delicious. We had soft tacos with beef, shrimp and chicken, a few different quesadilla choices and chips with guacamole. I decided to order for myself and try some other options. I went with the shrimp and tostones (a few more shrimp would have been nice. Comes with 4 to an order), the grilled beef wrap and French fries. This was our first time ordering from this place. We called and a nice girl answered the phone and answered all my questions. I proceeded to order through SeamLess, which made the process so easy. The food was expected to be delivered(according to Seamless) in about an hour. The delivery guy was at my door in about 20 minutes! Talk about fast delivery! Anyway, now to the food.
