My favorite place to get Mexican food!! They have dollar tacos on Tuesday and they have Azteca fries witch are carne asada loaded French fries there so good. Must be an off day. No chicken, no pork, no green chile ,no head. Says the napkin taped to the register. So we ordered shrimp ceviche tostadas and a shrimp cocktail. You guessed it. They ran out of shrimp so I got 5 shrimp in the cocktail and we're down to 3 tostadas instead of the 4 we ordered,with only half the stuff on them. Not nice. Also the silverware was very dirty. Asked for new and the lady handed me a spoon that was even dirtier,so we ended up using plastic utinsels. Food tasted great. But come on. read more

They've recently redecorated, and while it's nothing fancy, it's a bit "warmer" inside. The food is great as always.

You know the best taqueria joints are usually found in strip malls and always have family members cooking the food. Azteca is one of those little gems you come across in your travels. Now morons are looking for tacobell, the smart ones seek out and find taco joints like this. This place is not fancy inside. It has the essentials, outstanding homecooked fresh food and a available cold drink to include beer. If your looking for preformed taco shells with precooked meat frozen then cooked go to taco bell. I have had food from this place before about a year ago. Since then they have raised prices. It is okay to raise prices, but when you charge 4.00 for a side of rice and beans then just get 2 ounces of rice and 3 ounces of beans. My Burrito Supreme was mostly rice and beans and just a few pieces of carne asade. Food has gone up, servings have gone down. My Wife's experience was just as mine. read more

Good solid restaurant provided you know what to eat. Their burritos, both breakfast and regular, are outstanding. Their chili relleno is very tasty as well. However, I've had a few dishes that made me scratch my head, their super nachos for example. basically average mexican. The chicken in the enchiladas was canned dark meat and the beans and rice were standard. Nothing special. The sauce on the enchiladas was ok, a little cinnamon and probably a bit of sugar too for sweet. Mexicans dont do much health food if you know what I mean. This place does pastry also and its all white flour and white sugar. Its ok but wouldnt hold up against San Diego mexican.. no way. If people think this is great, they are not foodies. not really. The customer service is worse than ever. The food is still decent Mexican food if you catch it at the right time and it hasn't been sitting in warming trays for hours. But to wait for 17 minutes to get 4 small tacos, that have stale tortillas and lukewarm meat is ridiculous. The reason they have a decent star rating is because they're the only authentic place in town. Pretty tasty little taco joint. I've only been here once, but I would like to go back again. Having just moved back to the west from the east coast I was very excited to see some authentic Mexican menu items as well as some of my favorite junk items like the California Burrito and nachos. I went basic to check it out and just got a bean and cheese burrito which was a staple of my diet when I was a child. The beans were not the best re-fried beans I've ever had, but they were certainly tasty and much better than anything I got back in Virginia and the tortilla was very fresh, not like the processed stuff you buy at the store. My only gripe with the burrito was that there was too much cheese so it did not melt at all which resulted in many a bite that was only tortilla and cold cheese. My husband got a carne asada CA burrito. He seemed to love the meat and the fries, but was not a fan of the extra peppers and onions they put in there. I had a bite and thought it was delish, but I think next time we get one we'll get it sans the extra stuff. We also both enjoyed the green salsa and the good selection on bottled sodas. I just wish they had Jamaica. Next time we go I've gotta check out the bakery options as well. read more
