    Birria tacos were flavorful!
    Edward K.

I was in town for a nearby conference and prepared to dine elsewhere. Ran in to some colleagues that mentioned they were going out for Mexican food. Decided to be a joiner. Our table of 7 was seated immediately on a Monday night. The waitress was pleasant and patient regarding our need for four separate checks. The noise level was reasonable and conducive to conversation. I ordered two entrees instead of an appetizer and an entree. I preferred the birria tacos over the chile rellenos but both were solid. I'm spoiled because I live near a lot of exceptional Mexican restaurants. This didn't live up to those but it did provide our group tasty food and a comfortable place to hang out. Would certainly consider returning next time we're in town.

I came here last year for dinner. This place has been open since 2009 when I was an undergraduate student at SUNY Oswego. Coming back ten years later was a nice memory. I enjoyed the food and the drinks. The service was good and the margaritas were also good. It definitely brought back so many memories. The food was good and it reminded me of my time in Oswego. I remember the margaritas were really good. This is always my first stop when I am back in town. I am happy this place is still open and the food remains good. The prices did go up but it was still considerably cheap considered to prices in New York City. I got the fajitas and the amount of food given was enough to be shared.

At first look, it doesn't appear to be anything special. It's next to a second hand store and doesn't have a ton of curb appeal. However, on the inside it appears to be clean and pretty similar to any other Mexican restaurant. I've been here twice, both times it was during COVID, so I can't speak to how operations normally are. But both times we were there, service was prompt and attentive. We did go in august, right near move in weekend for the college, so we did have to wait a while. No problem, we can be patient. Because of COVID restrictions, we just put our name and phone number down and got a call when our table was ready. I got chicken quesadillas, my boyfriend got a chicken and chorizo dish. The food came quickly once we ordered. I thought everything was delicious! And the food was consistently delicious both times, even though the second time were there they were fairly busy. We will continue to visit this restaurant!

He started two other restaurants in Delaware called Daily Veg before moving back top CNY and starting Whacko Gringo as a take out only restaurant serving out of a trailer. Whacko Gringo serves Mexican fair with a twist and acai bowls, and now has a full storefront which includes outdoor seating. Wife and I had passed by Whacko Gringo several times when they were in the trailer. We had always wanted to try it, the menu looked interesting and tasty, but it just didn't work out for one reason or another. They eventually got their storefront and we decided one day we were going to get out there and try them. We walked in pretty early on a Saturday, no one else in the restaurant. Just a couple small tables inside and a couple outside. I ordered the chimichurri beef tacos with rice and black beans, and my wife ordered a burrito bowl and a side of fresh pico and chips. Food seemed to take a while to be made, but it seemed like there were only 2 employees there. Employees were fine for the most part, but pretty indifferent to us being there. When we did get it, we were definitely disappointed. The meat in my tacos had good flavor, but other than that, everything was extremely bland, and my wife felt the same about hers. The pickled veggies, rice, beans, pico had no flavor, we mostly loaded them with hot sauce for some flavor. No salt on the chips, just a disappointing meal. We had high hopes and planned to go back to try more offerings, but we'd probably skip a return trip now.

That may not have been completely necessary but it was busy and it never hurts to have one. The location of the restaurant may be tricky if you aren't familiar with Baldwinsville. There is a fairly spacious lot in the middle of The Bville diner, the dollar general and San Miguel for reference. And San Miguel itself from the parking lot goes down a ramp or stairs to the entrance of the restaurant. The restaurant itself stays true to the form of all the iterations that came before it, a good sized space with ample seating and in warmer weather there is some seating outside by the river. The booth we sat at had an unfortunate feature of being right under the heating and air conditioning and we were going from hot to cold depending on the heat going on and off. If you enter and go left and straight back to the corner, you may want to avoid that table until that can be adjusted. Most importantly the food and service were both incredible! Our server was fantastic and she took great care of us during a busy evening there. All the food was delicious and there were happy tummies all around. The jalapeno poppers were some of the best I've ever had. The main courses everyone either finished every bite or made sure to take the rest home. We all ordered our own dessert and again 4 happy sets of taste buds. If you can't tell what I'm getting at, it's that you won't be disappointed with whatever you get. Best Mexican ever, that's for you to decide, absolutely delicious, it definitely was. I highly recommend San Miguel and when you go, I of course, hope you enjoy!!

This place used to be a gem in the city of syracuse, and now it feels like understaffed mill of poorly made food robbing you of a decent meal from elsewhere. Staff seem light and completely overwhelmed, every time we are there. Can't be bothered with anything because they are handling too many tables. Maybe it'll be fine on an off night. Prepare to wait, and wait, and wait. Food... less said the better. For all the other Mexican restaurants in the area, this ranks at the bottom if not close to it. Stale chips and watery salsa on a Saturday night immediately brought expectations down for the rest of the meal, and it's been that way every time. The place looks like a dollar store dress up of a previous tenant. We deserve better

Last summer, the dining room was so hot that people took their dishes outdoor to the picnic tables to eat. Tres Primos has good food and lots of it so it's often very crowded at dinner time. We were fortunate to have come for an early dinner and were the only diners on a snowy day. Service is with a smile and the people that work here seem to enjoy each other's company and enjoy serving customers. The tables and chairs are the best, colorful with beautiful depictions of Mexico. For whatever you order, be prepared to have it served on a platter that's fit for a king, or in my case queen. Food is good and fresh. There is plenty to drink, including a variety of beers and cocktails . There's nothing like drinking a corona to top off a Mexican meal. I ordered what is really a sampler plate with a little bit of everything. I had a Chalupa, a quesadilla, tacos, and a member of other things. Of course, this comes complete with rice and beans. Needless to say, I had a second meal with the leftovers the following night. P.S., they have very good salsa that is served as soon as you were seated with your chips. Don't be afraid to ask for a refill.
