Absolutely horrible. Had food poisoning from this place more times than I'd like to admit. Food is disgusting.

Fast casual Mexican, like a Moe's/Chipotle without the flair. Conveniently located on Route 104/West Seneca Street in Oswego. Lots of parking. Ordering and getting the food did not take any time at all - the employees were whipping up people's meals as fast as they were ordering them. My husband ordered a burrito and I got a rice bowl. Both were $10, pretty affordable. Where things can add up is the extras - $1.50 each for guacamole and $2.75 for a small side of queso. Because the starting price of the main dishes isn't as much as other places, it ends up being about the same price. The queso and chips were good, and I enjoyed my veggie bowl. I also loved that they offer mushrooms! Moe's did away with mushrooms and they're my favorite vegetable. My husband says his meal was "passable" and that the tortilla was really soft/doughy. I definitely I enjoyed my food more than he did, but mine did need some salt, pepper, and hot sauce. I'd stop here again when I'm in the area. A nice alternative to fast food! read more

Food had great flavor but everything we ordered was ice cold. I ordered ahead of time but specified what time I was picking up my order on their app. My suspicion is that they never looked at the time I was picking the order up and prepared it as soon as it came in. That would have been about an hour before the pick up time I chose. $60 worth of food, all of which was cold is unacceptable. They need to be a little more conscientious about pick up times. read more

The food doesn't look bad, but looks are deceiving. It tastes like it's 3 days old and doesn't even have salt. I ordered two dishes, a grilled veggie rice bowl and steak fajitas. The veggies seemed steamed, not grilled. The rice did not have cilantro or lime as advertised. I was missing one of the beans. Tomatoes were mealy. The lettuce was iceberg. Everything tasted old and bland. I don't waste food so I added spices from my cabinet to make it edible. Despite only ordering 2 dishes, I received 7 plastic take-out containers, 21 "side containers" typically used for salsa and guacamole but they contained the beans and other main components of each dish, and a sheet of tin foil for each flour tortilla (7). See images for all the waste. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because when I called to ask if the beans and rice were vegetarian, the employee who answered the phone knew what vegetarian meant and went to find the cans of beans to read out their ingredients. In more than two decades of being a vegetarian, that level of service almost never happens. She also advised that I write in the special instructions section of my online order that I'm vegetarian and ask not to have cross contamination with meat. Fantastic service! Fajita grill is always delicious and a standard place in Oswego! Very reasonable pricing for what you get! Think chipotle or moes...and you have fajita grill. My favorite thing and go to is a chicken quesadilla with olives and black beans. All the ingredients work well together to deliver yummy tastes and flavors. The queso is also just as yummy with the tortilla chips...or just dip your quesadilla in the queso. So yummy!! read more

Very good!! Steak was a little spicier then I expected but it was still very good. The grilled mushrooms in it were divine!!! I opted for loaded nachos on a very full menu. Very good with 3 color chips, steak, olive, pinto beans, and brown rice with queso. The queso I really enjoyed as it was cheesy and smoky in flavor. as someone who very frequently goes to fajita grill, this was the most frustrating experience. the boy making our food introduced himself as Kolby, was obviously a newer employee. making our burrito and rice bowl the proportions were the worst i've ever seen. less then two scoops of rice for a rice bowl, giant blob of sour cream and a pinch of lettuce in a kids burrito. it was terrible, just wish the lady supervising would have stepped in. it's annoying to never know what to expect when walking in if i'll be getting the food worth my money. read more

I ordered a rice bowl. It was alright, not great. Got a lot of food though. I was turned off by the person who was serving me though. He used his gloved hands to spread my food instead of the scooper/spoon. I've never experienced that before. People usually use the utensil. Also, this place charges for everything... sour cream-charge, Grilled Veggies- charge. They made me miss Chipotle. Willing to give another shot. Not sure if I'd recommend. read more

A must visit spot when I'm home visiting. A lot of open seating and outdoor as well. Fajita grill is like the subway of Tex mex. you can choose anything you want to top your food with. My go to is definitely the rice bowl with tons of veggies. It's usually fairly clean throughout the restaurant and the customer service is pretty good. The queso is to die for! If you've never heard of Fajita Grill then just picture Chipotle and you've basically got the same concept. Except that Fajita Grill has something that Chipotle is lacking, which is their famous queso sauce. Besides queso sauce they offer burritos, quesadillas, and rice bowls that typically come with a helping of chips and salsa. The servers at Fajita Grill are always friendly and never rush to make your food as in other chain restaurants. I usually always order the same thing whenever I go to Fajita Grill. My order consists of the chicken quesadilla with beans, chipotle sauce, and onions or peppers. This order brings a side of chips and I get the medium spicy salsa to go along with them. Additionally, I order a side of guacamole and queso (to smother my quesadilla in). All of this with a drink comes out to about less than $10 and I can never be able to eat the entire thing in one sitting. Just a note: There are only 2 Fajita Grill locations upstate: Fulton and Oswego county. If you happen to pass by either one on your way to Buffalo, Canada, or any other upstate town than stop in for a nice hearty meal. read more

It's like fast-food Mexican-sorta. It's good whatever it is. I like the Subway sandwich design where you move down the line as they prepare the food for you. The servings can be quite generous. I stress *can*. It depends who you get. I noticed there can be a bit of inconsistency on serving size depending on the server you get...and also depending on how busy they are. That said, whatever you end up with, it will be enough to fill you for a meal at a good price. It's not a national chain like Chipotle or Salsaritas which are similar concepts. At Fajita Grill, it's a local establishment. That's worth something, especially if the food tastes good and the dining room doesn't smell funny. My husband and his family have told me about Fajita Grill for years, and I finally made it here. It's basically the local version of a Moe's. It has the same concept, pick your entree, pick what you want on it/ in it, and watch them make it. I got a quesadilla and my husband got a bowl. The chips are much better than Moe's they seem more freshly fried and are a bit sturdier than Moe's, which is great for loading up on the queso. Their queso was actually really good, I haven't found place that could stand up the to impossible standards that Moe's has set for the queso world, until I came here. The salsa however was really bland, it had no flavor and I found myself disappointed on that front. It was a really enjoyable lunch and I finally understand what all the hype is about. read more

The queso is amazing. I have to stop here every time I visit Oswego. The portion sizes vary depending on who makes it for you.

It's better than having to cook myself, and the electronic menu signs are great to check out while waiting in line. However, Moe's is def better as there are many more topping choices. And this bowl is half the size I get at Moe's. Yes, Moe's is more expensive, but worth it as only the guacamole is an up charge there. And the rice that is advertised as cilantro-lime had neither of those flavorings with it. Just plain boring white rice. I got no chips (maybe not supposed to come with it, but that seems weird). The raw onions were very strong (old). The guacamole was really good and the pork was tender. I would try it again, since it was crowded this time. Maybe there wasn't time to add the lime and cilantro today. read more

I had the rice bowl, with a mix of meats, guac, and chips. I specifically told them I was new to the place and appreciated any help. I guess the help does not include informing me that the cost of my choices were going to almost double the base price of the meal, and I didn't even order a drink. It's decent. Very much like Chipotle or Subway with the whole assembly line food thing. They have great melted queso to dip your chips on. Some call it "liquid gold", I'm not sure its THAT good. I love Fajita Grill. Rice bowls, salads, burritos, quesadillas and burritos. Meat choices include ground beef, steak and chicken. There's black beans, pinto beans, grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers. Brown or white rice, cheese, sour cream, guacamole (which is not good) and an array of salsas. They nickle and dime you for extras and get you to give in by saying, "would you like to add so and so for a little extra" but that little extra is $1.69 every time and that adds up! Im an Oswego State Alum (Class of 2011) and went to have lunch with my fraternity brothers here. This was not my first time and will not be my last. WE NEED THESE IN NYC PLEASE!!!! i believe, with all by soul, that this place is better then Chipotle, YEA I SAID IT!. The reason is simple, the nachos and the queso! oh my dear Jesus the queso is amazing. Walk up to the counter and they have an assembly line setup to fix up your food as you see fit. total buy time, without the line, is about 5 minutes. they have out door seating for the warm months of May- August and the walk to the discount beer place is right around the parking lot. i love this place and makes Oswego SOOOO much nicer read more

Fajita Grill is the same concept as Chipotle but with smaller burritos. It's good, but I do sometimes miss enormous Chipotle burritos. As another yelper said, the serving sizes can vary from server to server, especially when it comes to how many chips you get with your order - they've gotten stingy lately. One plus - from what I've heard, their hot salsa is actually very hot. I don't have a high tolerance for spicy food, but the people who do like it seem to really appreciate the hot salsa. Up charge for sour cream and grilled veggies which doesn't sit well with me, but the queso is to die for. Very nice employees who will take their time while making your meal, even those who are picky! Some employees put less food in dishes than others which is a bust. But most workers load up the dish. All 100% fresh ingredients, homemade chips, and they sell a small beer collection. The first thing you'll notice about Fajita Grill is the courteousness of the employees. Each time I walk in the door one of them greets me (even while they are preparing food for another customer). Their prices are fair even for a college budget; expect to pay about $7.00 for a burrito with some sides. Most entrees come with a side of nacho chips and their queso cheese sauce is very unique. I'm an Alum of Oswego and found myself in town the other day to see my brother and tour the campus. Had fond memories of Fajita grill and decided to rehash old stomping grounds. Overall the food was OK, seems like some of the ingredients had changed since I used to come here 4-5 years ago, but the main attraction (Queso Dip), remained the same and still rocked! Prices are a little high for basically chipotle type food, but still a great little spot in Oswego. read more

As far as fast-food Mexican-ish food goes, this place is pretty good. More or less healthy and above-average taste (at least as compared to Taco Bell or something). They're Chipotle-esque though I find Chipotle much tastier. Fajita Grill does have very friendly service, though I find it uniformly slow. This place may have gotten four stars in the past, simply for being the only game in town, but now that Azteca is around (where at least the staff is authentically Mexican, if not quite the food) Fajita Grill is demoted to merely the top of the fast-food heap in Oswego. 2nd time ordering Like the lime rice but I keep forgetting the sauces I like (guac mild and sour cream and a new corn side. Taco was waxy but need wax wrap it's sticking to aluminum. It came with a side of chips so I should have not asked for another.the soft flour taco was gummy that's y it such to the foil. Taco tasted more meety on one side then more veggie on the other side. I graduated from Oswego in 2013... Fajita Grill was one of the few fast food places that me and my buddies liked. Their queso is amazing. The reason I'm writing this review 4 years later is because I recently tried Chipotle's queso... Nowhereeeee near as good as Fajita Grill's. Moe's doesn't compare either. Went there to get lunch for a 15 man crew stood in line for 25 minutes got to the counter and they kicked my buddy and I out for not having a mask. I can't wear a mask due to asthma. We almost got fired from our jobs for being gone to long and no food for the crew. read more

I like Fajita grill better than Chipotle... I know, who knew!? That dang queso was my favorite, I have since stopped eating the queso, not because is lacks in deliciousness but because it is a bowl of cheese. It's still good though. I think the food is flavorful and the service is usually good. It can be pretty packed during lunch and dinner hours since the Oz students can use their dining cards and they have a few student discounts. So you may have to wait but it's a better option than some of the nearby choices. read more
