I've taken my car here for more than a few repairs! I'd like to go somewhere else but the fees for the service are quite reasonable. Most other places I know would charge a lot more for the same services. It's just little things that irritate me: when I had CarShield, they wouldn't release my car until they got the check from CarShield which was due to arrive IN THE MAIL. I guess CarShield itself could've done better by having electronic payments instead of paper checks. I also had a steering wheel cover that was fine when I dropped the car off but it was cracked when I got it back. The last experience was getting a few sensors replaced which did allow me to finally pass emissions, but the car door lock disappeared into the car door. Whatever held it in place had broken and the lock is now rolling around behind the panel of the car door. Overall the service is good for the price, especially if you can get in early and you can have the car back the same day. But those little things like I just mentioned above can be annoying. I will say, they were kind enough to replace the connector to my headlight (which wasn't working) after having spent almost 2K on other repairs. read more

I got a well maintained 95 riv 82,000 miles.running rough. Well maintained by a one owner senior was on top of maintaining this car since he bought it brand new.all well documented. A german man.passed at 90 years old.they had it three times.over a long period. Still couldnt get it running right.said they did oil change for the inconvenience. Was texting owner on personal phone..he was on vacation..must be nice.i worked at a car dealership for 15 years. Had brought a for van there to get a trans line changed.but didnt tell them i had the part.told me part was $275 i got it for$100...should of ran then.had a 68 vw type r to change main engine seals.engine had to come out said 1500.fine....said it would take a week...ended up almost 2 months. So back to the riv.3rd time picking it up.and not getting it running proper...friday about 430pm.they closed at 5pm.i asked the guy on the phone to let it run for a half hour before i pick it up .said it was running great but i got there the car was not running.i drove it south on cicero .5:30 chicago traffic got half way up cicero bridge as it had construction only 2 lanes me now blocking the merge lane.traffic already backed up half a mile due to construction. Sat there an hour til tow i called to take it back to azteca. The manager would not send a tow truck..i towed it back to shop.2 days later...the owner back from vacation....said (IT SPUN A BEARING)...HE SAID HE COULD FIX IT FOR 2800 THOUSAND...AND SENT ME A PIC OF DAMAGE....AND AFTER READING ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I need it a different engine. Carlos claimed he had found an engine with 22,000 miles and would put it in and have it ready in 4 days. All I had to do was take him $2,000 cash so he could get the engine with 22,000 miles on it. I took my car and the weekend of memorial Day. He kept my car until the weekend after Labor day. Every week he told me the car would be ready the following week. He kept stringing me along. My car was parked in the same spot, with the wheels turned in the same direction for more than 3 months. He had no intentions of putting the engine in with 22,000 miles on it he intended to try and fix the original faulty engine. He was going to keep the cash which was to be used to buy the engine with 22,000 miles on it. When I finally got my car is still had an issue with the engine. He put in a engine that has 66,000 miles on it. That's a big jump from the 22,000 mi engine he claimed to have. Since I got my engine the smell from the engine manifold comes back into the cab of my car. When I picked up my car after 3 months there was still an error code. He said he needed another week. After waiting 3 months and being strung along I didn't want to take a chance on him keeping my car for another few months. I just have to pay someone else to fix the smell coming from the manifold into the cab. He kept my car from memorial Day weekend to after Labor Day weekend and he still didn't fix it correctly. He refused to give me the name and number of the owner his boss of the shop. So I was only stuck with his untruths. He would not show me the receipt for the replacement engine. I believe it was because he did not buy the replacement engine initially. That is why I ended up with the engine with 66,000 mi instead of 22,000 miles. The different engine in. They advertise a cheap oil change to do a full "check up" of your car. They quoted me $2000 of course on a 2009 Chevy Aveo. I was livid but kept my composure and said no thank you on the recommendations. None of the quoted work was actually the problem. The car only needed new spark plugs and a battery. Smh read more

The most dishonest and unprofessional mechanic team I've ever encountered! I took my car for a problem it has at starting. They troubleshoot it and supposedly "fix it" for a very pricey amount. I picked my truck up after they call me it was...ready drive off I got to another parking lot, went to get something and when try to start my truck again surprise!!! The problem wasn't fixed!!... not even 20 minutes!..i went back to claim the warranty on the job (a week later because i was super bussy) and now they claiming is something else and now is more money!!! I had taken in my car for a diagnostic and they had given me a very expensive quote, which mostly was for the part and labor. Trying to save money I asked if I could order the part online and have them install it they said no. They wanted me to buy the part from them. I decided not to do it at the time because I felt like for the part and labor they were charging me an arm and a leg. I ended up ordering the part and took it to have it installed at another shop and they told me that the part that this business claimed I needed was not it. They ened up fixing the issue my car actually had and did it at a fourth of the cost Aztecas was trying to charge me. I have 3 vehicles and I had been taking them to them for every need, but finally got tired of the terrible service. More so the person on the front desk. I called a local shop asking if they installed exhaust systems. They said no and referred me to Aztecas. I called Aztecas over the phone and was greeted by a very polite lady. I asked for a quote and was told to bring vehicle in for an estimate. I brought in my vehicle and the gentleman who inspected my vehicle spoke only a little english but, the nice lady helped us understand each other. I told him I wanted the Flowmaster 40 and he said to bring in first thing in the morning 8am and it would be done by 2pm. I explained I needed it done by 1pm and he had it done by 12:30 for me. Im very pleased with the customer service and the results! My Ford has a nice growl to it now. If you need an exhaust system installed, I highly recommend Aztecas! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! If I could give this place ZERO STARS, I would. I brought my vehicle in for repair over a month ago. Sat for four hours until mechanic finished lunch and he realized the part was incorrect. After paying deposit and for repair upfront, I had to call every other day for over a month to check on the arrival status of the correct vehicle part. Each time manager said the correct part was arriving either within a few days or at the end of the week. I was finally told part was arriving, after a month. I drove to the shop again, waited inside and the part did not arrive. I returned for the 3rd time, when the part finally arrived, and waited over five hours for the repair that was supposed to take "one hour." Vehicle is yet to be fixed. I have spent over 3 hours driving back and forth with my check engine light on and have waited well over 10 hours in the repair shop because of the businesses' incompetence and negligence. So about 7 months ago my mother needed internal engine work on her car and she took it to Azteca Muffler and Brakes on 7743 S. Cicero. $1,100 later she thought everything was fine well it wasn't. A week later the engine blew. My mom took it back and they admitted to being at fault. After the original work failed they allegedly replaced the engine with a junkyard engine which was ok by my mom. Needless to say that engine went bad as well. My mother was out of a car and she managed to convince them to give her a loaner which they did. She asked them several time just to return her money and they refused. She's had that loaner for about 7 months and today she had to take it back. They offered her a one year older VW Passat but with no warranty what so ever. At this point my mother is fed up with what she has gone through because they took her interior out of her car without her permission. I needed to tell her story and hopefully my friends and family share this. This place took my mom's kindness for weakness and have not resolved anything. She still does not have her vehicle and now this place has mad a mockery after her. Worse place ever, beware, don't go there worse nightmare ever. Took my car in for timing chain on Dec 13, after several delays, broken promises . I didn't get my car back until Dec 29th. When I began to drive it not less then 15 mins the check engine light was on again. The suspension was messed up. I was told to bring it back on Jan 2, the car would be ready on the 6th. When I arrived I was told they could not fix it and he did not look over the suspension. Bring it back on the 8th they would fix it. I now am here to pick it up and told my struts are bad. They are terrible people to deal with and don't fix your car they make it worse. I even called the owner 3 times during this whole ordeal and no return. read more
