Took my 2012 4runner in to service a noise in the rear. The mechanic which road with me on a short road trip pin pointed the problem after 5 min. The triple shims were missing from the rear breaks. This is only available as a factory items. They contacted the shop where the original install was done, on my behalf for repair and replacment of factory item. They really tried to get me with a fraudulent diagnosis!!! My engine heating warning came on while driving down Cicero so I immediately pulled over and asked ChatGPT about the warning. I looked under my hood checked for leaks, or pools of any liquid. Didn't see any leaks, in fact I've never seen leaks. Luckily this shop was less than 4 blocks away. I didn't check the coolant/antifreeze because it said not to open while hot. I knew it had to be that because I travel all across the U.S for work and many times I get an oil change in rural cities so I couldn't recall the last time I had my fluids checked. I left my Jeep with them for about 2 hrs. They were so nice and accommodating and customer service was amazing, very personable!! However, when I came back they said yes the coolant was extremely low and leaking. He told me to come look.... my Jeep is now hoisted up and leaking a few drops every few seconds. Now he's telling me my water hose is broken and it's going to cost $1,400. They charged me $40 to refill the coolant and I declined all other service. My Jeep is 2020 and I bought it new... never had any problems until now. I had a mobile mechanic come take a look. Turns out it was unloosened screws, so that's why my coolant all of a sudden was leaking at their shop only. I know they did it because it was not leaking before I got to them and both myself and one of the service guys (named Mo or Moody) checked for leaks upon arrival and concluded it's not leaking. The mobile mechanic charged me $20. It's been almost a week and no leaks and no problems. They act nice as hell but lack integrity... WOMEN especially AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

Took my car in for ball joints, paid $1,400 and when I went to lot I saw that the rocker panel and fender had damage. Manager apologized and said that the mechanic lifted the car on the rocker panel instead of the frame and made the damage. I got lots of estimates and the owner refuses to pay anything, he claimed he doesn't believe his shop damaged my car even though the two fellows in the shop admitted it to me. read more

Had leak by intake manifold they told me it was upper and lower n time box something try to charge me $1400 when to Steve Auto 83rd Kedzie who I trust now and he tells me it just the upper and time box that r leaking total price $950. I have been going to Global Auto Repair since they have been open and I have no complaints! This is my go to place whenever I need anything done. The guys that work here are very easy to talk to and tell you everything about your car that is wrong. Nothing more, nothing less. I have been to many mechanic shops where I have been told such false information regarding my car. Before going to Global Auto, I used to have numerous problems at mechanic shops. It was as if I went to get something fixed on my car, I magically had a new problem that never even existed. I always seen myself having even more issues because of false information that was relayed to me; however, since I have been going to Global Auto that has not been the case. Their technicians are very professional and knowledgeable. The guys here are able to diagnose a car and actually get it fixed. I feel that every penny I pay is worth it! These guys know exactly how to diagnose a car and treat the problem properly unlike many other mechanic shops. They will work with you to make sure your car will leave running perfectly fine and no doubt, you will leave satisfied. One thing I really like about Global Auto is that none of the guys that work here are procrastinators. They staff is extremely hardworking and do their best to make sure their customers have their car in a timely manner. This is not to say that they rush through their work in any way. I commend them for their beyond excellent service through professionalism, fair charging/pricing, and most of all their HONESTY. They will tell you if the recommended service is a safety issue or can wait at a later time, and whether the replaced part is still under warranty and they barely charge for labor or not at all. Also, I always feel safe for my family as soon as they hand us back the key. I had been going to this place about 7 or 8 years now and they never fail... I only get excellent service each time. It feels like some mechanics and car places know when you are car repair ignorant and they try to take advantage of your ignorance. I am very cautious about where I take my car because I know that I am car ignorant. I have taken my car to Riveroaks Honda since I purchased it there in 2006. I took my car to Riveroaks Honda mainly because I fear being taking advantage of by greedy mechanics. Riveroaks Honda misdiagnosed my car stating I had an oil leak when I really had a transmission fluid leak. This caused me thousands and thousands of dollars worth of damage to my car. Riveroaks Honda then stated that transmission fluid is oil and therefore they did not misdiagnose my car. I believe they thought, "she does not know about cars, let's tell her anything and then say it is her fault." While it is true I don't know a lot about cars I do know the difference between transmission fluid and oil. My good friend recommended Global Auto Repair in Oak Lawn, IL., and I am very grateful. I really like Global Auto Repair, everyone I talked to there have been very kind. They were even patient when I was trying to tell what was wrong with my car by using strange sound effects. They were very tolerant with my many many questions (even getting in the car to ride around with me and hear what I heard). Moody, one of the brothers talked to me in detail (and showing me pictures) about my car until I understood never making me feel like my questions were stupid or slow for not understanding (so I would say I understood when I didn't). If that was not enough they even called me later to see how things were going. I am very pleased and recommend them to others. Please give them a try. read more

supposedly fixed my daughters 2005 jetta. new water pump timing belt and few other misc. problems all with a warrany. she took it back to them complaining of a/f leaking and overheating,they stated it was a blown head gasket. took to another shop and they verified it is not blown head gasket,but, a bad water pump. they told her they will honor the warranty only with written proof from other shop and only if they find out this is the problem. if it had been diagnosed right when she took it to them when it first started happening again there would be no problem.we will see what happens now. read more
