They were able to see us same day, they spoke Spanish (which was perfect for my mom), they were compassionate and explained everything clearly to us. I was surprisingly impressed with the service. After having a bad initial encounter with another mortuary , I was really overwhelmed with finding mortuary with compassion and willingness to help with simple cremation but a little complex situation. Aztlan was nothing but helpful and professional- went above and beyond to work with us to get cremation done after devastating loss of loved one due to covid. Quick to respond to requests/questions and great follow through, even helped us navigate additional paperwork to address complex issues. My husband passed away suddenly in March and I had no idea where to have him cremated - I had heard so much over the years about funeral homes ripping off the family when they are most vulnerable. I initially looked into them for having the lowest price for a cremation for my step-father. What I didn't expect was a wonderful experience with no upsell. They were clear on all charges including death certificates. They have reasonably priced urns available. With my step-dad a veteran they presented my mom with a beautiful flag, thanking her for his service. Really great experience. Unfortunately my mother-in-law passed and we used their services again. For no charge they were able to take a fingerprint (for custom jewelry) as well as split up some of the cremated remains for tiny urns for her children. We bought a special sand urn for a burial at sea from Amazon and at no charge they transferred the remainder in the urn for our convenience. All staff was so very great. My Great Grandmother passed this 1/04/21 and we had gone through another mortuary to plan everything for her funeral . The other one was way too expensive & only allowed 10 ppl to be at her service even with it being at our church of choice . We were not okay with that , We found Aztlan and they made our lives so much more easier . They picked up my GMA from the other mortuary and took excellent care of us . They complied with the regulations of the church we rented from . Their prices were amazing for the services they gave us . The day of her viewing they were so kind and considerate! This family was absolutely incredible! We lost a baby before she was able to be born. We called everywhere and asked the hospital. No one would help us because it was before 20wks. (I was 14wks when lost her) They gave us an incredible amount of care and love and worked with us in an absolutely ahhhhmazing way to cover the cost of baby Hope's cremation. Aztlan came thru! Our family was in experiencing a death and we were short on time with the clinic in the PM. Aztlan really helped out with our cremation needs. Other mortuaries and cremation centers took too long to reply to our inquiries and were much more costly. Be advised. We only got the physical transport and cremation. No service. Perhaps the other mortuaries offer better options. But I wouldn't know. Pros: came thru when we were in a pinch. Friendly staff. Oscar is great. I too was given Aztlan as one of the choices from Los Robles hospice for my Auntie who just passed away on August 29th 2020....they had great reviews and the price was less than anybody else....so we went for it....everyone at Aztlan was amazing and very helpful but when we had the service for my auntie and she was laying in repose in the casket we were horrified....because it didn't even look like her...I read all the newspaper articles that Aztlan had on there wall about the owner being a teacher of embalming techniques to the people of Mexico and we thought oh that's very cool these people know what there doing so we are in good hands.....but at the service her face was puffy un recognizable.. she had skinny lizard lips the cosmetologist's should have cut her hair and given her bangs instead of pulling her hair back out of her face we gave them a picture for reference and you could see where they didn't even cover the gray of her hair that had grown out for14 weeks since she had been in the hospital....cut rate for sure !!!!!......I would have gladly paid extra if I had known that I was going to look at my Auntie and not even recognize her....this is a constructive criticism ....everything about her look was wrong !!! even her finger tips were purple !!!you guys can do better than this!!!!.....please fire the people that you have and get new ones!!!!! don't let this happen to other families...this is unacceptable read more

Very disappointed in this mortuary. While my brother was placed in hospice care and time was near we chose Aztlan because they were highly recommended from the list given to us. We visited and met with them. As a family we discussed the details and finalized decisions for preperation of our loved ones death. We felt comfortable and reassured. Not knowing we would be let down and ignored in our time of need. After multiple phone calls from us and the hospice staff, Aztlan did not answer the calls nor was there any kind of answering service. (We were told) 3 hours later.... our family had to wait. We put our trust in this was all gonna be taken care. In all our grief we had to make phone calls to other mortuarys to help us. Absolutely let down and appalled that this is a business that provides a specific service for family's and compassion and empathy and trust is a given. Aztlan Mortuary has none of these and disguised themselves as such. I dont even think they deserve one star read more

Just recently had my cousins viewing here .worst make up artist ever . My cousin was light skinned yet his foundation shade made him looked liked burned idk very unpleasant to see your loved one like this and for others to see we cldnt recognize him. Thats the whole point of wanting to keep a decent last image of our loved one yet you guys failed. They didn't fix it nor did they anything to help. Chairs are so old one was broken one wiggle some smelled they need to deep clean viewing rooms .unfortunately didn't have the mind to take pictures to post just keep in mind the make up artist here is horrible. read more

My aunts passing was unexpected and very devastating for the family but Sheyla took really good care of us she kept me informed step by step. She was very caring and compassionate with us. I recently lost both set of grandparents within a week of each other due health issues and old age. We were recommended this mortuary due to its ability of transporting love ones to Mexico. From the very beginning the staff was extremely helpful and helped our family prepare both funerals. Due to Covid-19, the wait for the services were longer than expected but understandable with the uncertainty we are living in. The staff was on call when we needed despite them being busy with other families who were also grieving for loved ones. Overall, the service provided here was excellent and the way they took care of my grandparents was beyond what my family could imagine. Thank you for your compassionate staff and hard work. Once my mom went into hospice, I reached out to mortuaries to see what the costs and such would be to handle her remains when the time came. Aztlan was very competitive price-wise. I dealt mostly with Leah and she was wonderful. When the time came, they were responsive, kind and did not try to upsell us. The personnel who were present at the funeral were attentive and unfailingly kind. I wish I knew the older gentleman's name as he was a true gem and treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. I've since learned that they are knowledgeable in many different cultural nuances as well. I would not hesitate to recommend the folks at Aztlan wholeheartedly. Everyone is very kind and helpful which is very important when your having to make very tough and emotional decisions . Not only did they make me wait while jose luis just sat at his desk doing nothing, they were rude, didn't give us any information, wouldn't let individual people pick up their urns (they designated one person to hand deliver them to the rest of us). They were glad to take our money and were nice up until then. When it came down to it, they were jerks. They made a difficult time even harder. Go somewhere else for your own sake. read more
