They just keep damaging and driving over flower arrangements. They are very rude to the dead and the families.

At Singing Hills Memorial Park, the experience is completely different. It's comforting, personal, and family-oriented. Nothing about losing a loved one is ever easy, but Iris, our family service advisor, was so reassuring and helpful in guiding us through the arrangements for my mom's interment. There were no high-pressure sales pitches. We were simply informed of our options and offered choices that met our family's needs. I especially appreciated being able to work with Iris throughout the entire process. On the day of my mom's interment, Iris was waiting for my cousin and me at the gravesite with everything prepared. Her calm demeanor and steady presence were very reassuring. She followed our lead and allowed the moment to unfold naturally, without making it feel formal or scripted. I'm also thankful for her suggestion that we take photos and for the thoughtful way she arranged the flowers and mementos I had brought before my mom's urn was placed in the vault. Those gestures meant a great deal to me. Thank you, Iris, for helping us create a peaceful final memory of caring for our dear mom, grandma, and aunt. I'm very grateful for the kindness you showed our family.

Today we celebrated Día de los Muertos, and it was lovely. They had complimentary tacos, hot dogs, and face painting which made it feel warm and welcoming for families honoring their loved ones. It's my favorite time of year. The burial plots are definitely on the pricey side, but honestly, it's worth it in the long run for the care, beauty, and respect they show here. Truly a special place.

I provided the funeral director Charles with the custom engraving over the phone and was assured the necklace would be ordered and that I would be contacted when it was ready. Months passed without any communication from them and many repeated calls from me. I eventually had to go to the El Cajon office in person and speak to several people just to be told "What took you so long to ask about the necklace" The most heartbreaking and frustrating part was being asked months later to all the information all over again without any explanation. I hope this review encourages meaningful changes so other grieving families are treated with the care they deserve.

Not only did this not happen, but when wrapping our loved one in white linen, their actions were shockingly rough and lacking in sensitivity while we were present in the room. Their treatment was impersonal and dismissive, making an already difficult moment even more painful. We were told that the individuals that came to pick up our loved one was likely new and not trained. What we observed was far from it, it was clear the 2 employees were very much in sync and had done this many times. At the service itself, we received only 1 of the 2 pre-paid flower arrangements we selected (the small one!). We prepaid for El Cajon mortuary's services for both of our parents. We had high hopes that the first experience was unique but our 2nd experience mirrored the first, confirming that the poor level of care we previously received is not an anomaly. The upside is we at least received BOTH pre-paid flower arrangements the second time. If you are seeking a mortuary that offers respect--both emotional for you and physical for your loved one, please consider other options.

Paul, the mortuary director, went far above and beyond anything we expected. From the very beginning, he took on the overwhelming task of communicating with multiple concerned family members, easing confusion and helping everyone stay informed. That alone lifted a huge burden from us. What truly stood out was his willingness to meet our family where we were--both emotionally and physically. He personally visited the home of our loved one and gently guided family members through decisions that felt impossible at the time. Even when there was hesitation or uncertainty, Paul remained patient, kind, and deeply understanding. His knowledge and honesty were invaluable. He carefully explained the realities and consequences of delaying arrangements, but always did so with compassion and respect. In many ways, he became more than a mortuary director--he was like a social worker, helping our family come together, find clarity, and ultimately reach a place of peace and resolution. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, Paul brought calm, dignity, and guidance. We are truly grateful for his dedication and humanity, and we highly recommend Featheringill Mortuary to any family in need of support and care.

From the very beginning, Thomas and Jodi treated us and my mother with gentleness, dignity, and deep respect. Jodi was exactly the person we needed to guide us through the difficult paperwork and the emotional process of choosing the final items for my mom's goodbye. She made it feel manageable, even when it felt like the world was falling apart. Thomas... I don't even have words for how grateful I am for him. He has a gift, he can read a room with so much grace and compassion. On one of the worst days of my life, he made things bearable somehow. He honored my mom as a vessel that carried her spirit, and he was deeply respectful of our traditions. He's a truly special person, and I will never forget his presence during that time. I hope I don't have to return for a long time, but when the time does come again, I wouldn't trust anyone else with the sacred task of preparing a loved one for the next world. This place and its people are a blessing during such a difficult time.
