The restaurant is beautiful. The experience and food, eh. The music was so loud it felt like we were yelling at the waiter. We were served margaritas that had sat at the bar for at least 25-30 mins. When they brought our first round, the bar made 2 extra, and the waiter took them back to the bar. Those drinks sat there and watered down while we drank and ate. When we asked for a 2nd round of margaritas, guess which drinks we got, the ones that had been sitting at the bar all that time. The waiter was sweeping the floor right beside us while we ate. We had a table of 11, 5 adults 6 kids. The server added 20% gratuity to our tab as expected but the service reflected her already having her tip. We had to ask her to bring out waters with our alcoholic drinks. Then had to ask her to order both our appetizers and dinner. She just never came to check on us after initially ordering our drinks . Our food took over an hour to come out. We were seated at the restaurant for a little less than 2 hours, and most tables in there were doing the same. I understand they get busy but what we didn't appreciate was absolutely no communication from our server checking on our food, we had to ask for updates and every thing we wanted to order. The food was good but the service ruined our experience. To top it off when we wanted our credit cards ran we had to grab a manager because our server never came back, we complained to the manager about the lack of service and how long our food took to come out and she didn't seem bothered or care; Just said she would talk to the kitchen. DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE A DAIRY ALLERGY!!!!!!!! Be aware that the cooks will not be in your favor. I ordered a mini chicken changa asked for no cheese and no sour cream and stated to our waiter that I have a dairy allergy. Our waiter understood and made sure to write that on the ticket. Everything looked fine when it came out. Only 1 out of 3 of the changas had no dairy in it, you can not tell this until you open it. Luckily i did not bite into this or it could have been an ALLERGIC REACTION! We advised the waiter, and he went back to the kitchen to let them know. He was then advised that the way they make them it had cheese on it. The problem is not with the waiter it is with the cooks. If someone has an allergy, we do not choose this. If you were unable to make this the way we order, let the waiter know what we can have. Unfortunately, we left with nothing resolved and was charged for the full meal, even though I was not able to eat it due to cheese being in the changa. From start to finish this place was terrible . We added our name to the waiting list which seemed super convenient. Upon arrival we stood at the hostess desk for a good three minutes while the hostess stared into space and didn't acknowledge us. I finally said can we check in which snapped her out of her daze but it didn't get any better . I had to explain to her 10 times that I was trying to check in and had already added my name to the list via the app. When I told her my name she kept responding with other random names saying oh this must be you. There was definitely a language barrier which is understandable but the restaurant should not have put her in a position to work directly with customers . Once we were seated it didn't get much better . We ordered drinks and nachos . The nachos arrived before the drinks then sat on the table getting cold because we didn't have plates. We had to ask two different people to get us plates neither of which was our waitress . The nachos were generally good but had a really bad topping to chip ratio and we were left with a pile of congealed cheese on the plate which nobody would bother to remove . We had to practically beg the waitress to take our entree order . We both had the mini chicken changas which turned out to be flautas and they were smothered in queso which negated the fact that they had been fried . The chicken was good but that was about it . We ordered fajitas and asked for no onions. The waiter said sure whatever the customers want. They brought it out with onions because that is the base. No peppers like in most places. The waiter failed to inform us about this. It's probably about a whole onion, and a half was used. They apologized and said they would give us 10% off. That didn't happen either. Very high prices. We've been twice, 1st time for dinner, we had the chips and 3 dips, 1 was ranch which I felt was odd but they were good and could get refills $5 , we had shrimp tacos $17 little to much slaw for our liking. It was on a Saturday night so it was a little loud. The table for 2 was too small as our plates were close to the edge. All in all we'd go back, service was excellent. The roof top wasn't open the 1st time so we went back for just the roof top, we're older but in good shape & the stairs were extremely difficult, we didn't see an elevator and since the menu on the roof top is limited the staff have to bring upstairs so we had 2 beers $6 each. Was suggested upon checking in not to ask for the rooftop due to lack of staff. One of THE most expensive Mexican cuisine restaurants I've ever been. At 18 bucks each, the Perfect Margarita did not taste premium. The person (not our waiter or bartender) who brought the drinks to the table accidentally knocked off one of the limes. We were never offered a replacement. Food was on par taste wise as compared to a Banditos restaurant chain. Again, probably not worth the price per entree. Our waitress, Akelia, made up for some of lack of booze and flavor with an abundance of personality. Good for a one time visit if in the area. Went for dinner on Cinco de Mayo. Very loud music at the front of the restaurant where we were going to be seated. Wouldn't have been able to have a conversation with family during dinner. Reseated further back away from the music. Server was nice but the service was slow. Water glasses were dirty. Ordered shrimp tacos. The cabbage slaw was mushy and didn't taste good. We are originally from San Diego and love good Mexican food. This wasn't Mexican or even good Tex Mex. Overpriced and won't come back. Not sure what other Mexican restaurants there are in town but almost anything will be better than here. read more
