I was driving down the parkway and wasn't sure what to eat when I glanced to the side and saw a building with my name on it. With a cool interior design, Paloma offers some delicious Mexican food. To start, I had the Paloma Guacamole, fresh and tasty. They give you the choice of blue or yellow corn tortillas, which you can taste and are freshly made. I also tried their white sangria, which was refreshing and delicious. I had their Yuca Fries and a Pork Carnitas Taco. Their food was delicious and had great flavor; however, I found their prices a bit steep, $6 for a single taco was kind of wild to me. Overall, Paloma was good. So, day 2 of our experience at Paloma wasn't quite as good as day one. Luis is terrific. However, on day two... we were seated sort of quickly with a bit of a not-as-friendly welcome. It wasn't that busy but the 3 workers were running around...I mean 3 seated tables! Eventually, our order was taken (also breakfast). We asked 3 times for extra cream for the coffee. The coffee arrived after the food without extra cream. Wife likes a lot - we let it go. I specifically asked for no syrup on my french toast. Well, you probably know what happened here - syrup on the french toast. We did mention the syrup and the server offered to change it and claimed he/she did submit our request. I declined...I used to work in the food business and it's burned in to my brain to not send food back. The food was pretty good and the server was trying but seemed overwhelmed. read more

One of our favorite restaurants in Pigeon Forge that was filled with surprises. Started with a gazpacho amuse from the chef and ended with green apple cotton candy surprise for the whole table. My kids loved it! Drinks were delicious, we particularly loved the trio of salsa and guacamole, yuca fries. Queso, birria and seafood tostado. My son loved his chicken taco with everything on the side. The food here was really good. We went for breakfast since it was included in our hotel stay. I got a brulee grapefruit which was really yummy and my partner got an avocado toast. It's a super cute place. The service was friendly. But here's the thing. We got a grapefruit, and avocado toast for breakfast and we were in the restaurant for an hour and a half! It was just way too slow. And it would've taken longer, but we sat at the bar so we wouldn't have to wait for a seat. Love the idea but it was frustrating for it to take so long when we had other places we wanted to be. read more

The coffee was gross, we didn't even get our food before we walked out. They are not allergy friendly. The only gluten free, dairy free thing they had was the oatmeal and they were al out of oatmeal. The tables were wet, the menus were covered in food, the salt and pepper holders were covered in food splatters. The server was timid and nice. The manager was a little rude, and the barista with nappy hair seemed high. The place was really cute so it's a real shame they aren't good. read more

However, the breakfast food was that, hotel food. It wasn't the greatest. Also pretty slow as it wasn't very busy. I want to love Paloma Scratch Kitchen. Food made from scratch using quality ingredients is what I live for. But sadly, Paloma misses the mark when it comes to execution. First, of the three times I've been here, there is always a problem with service. The restaurant can't handle just a few tables let alone a full dining room. It can't be the fact that the food is "made to order." All Michelin quality restaurants are made to order and they don't have these issues. I arrived to find a practically empty dining room. There was a coupe waiting in front of us that were clearly waiting for a few minutes. The server told them they had to wait longer to be seated! Why? Was the kitchen overwhelmed serving two tables? That's crazy! I love the menu but again, the execution isn't on point. For breakfast, I had their take on huevos rancheros. The dish didn't feel complete. It was just eggs, sauce, and bread. There was nothing green or fresh on the plate at all. For dinner, we got tacos. They were underwhelming. Seasoning was lacking and the beef was old. It was grey. That suggests a problem with the chef's ordering. The chef is probably ordering too much and letting things sit too long. At this price, things have to taste on point. You've got to nail these issues. If I were the chef or owner, I'd sit down and take a hard look at what could be the reason why my dining room isn't full. It's not because Pigeon Forge doesn't have folks willing to pay for high quality food. We exist and we are dying to find a place to spend our money. But sadly, Paloma isn't the place at the moment which is probably why the dining room isn't packed. I really hope the chef/owner takes this feedback to heart. I want you folks to succeed. The concept is great. The decor is amazing. The wait staff I met were lovely people. The sous chef I met said he left his career to work on this concept. Good luck! This was a terrible dining experience. The women who worked there were nice, but that could not make up for the poor food and service. We had a 6:45pm reservation and did not get served until 8:10pm with three children. They brought out the kids food 20 minutes before ours and the quality was terrible. Everything was over salted and inedible. My steak, the most expensive thing on the menu had a visible tendon in it. They adjusted the tab but it still wasn't worth it. Sad and disappointing. The decor was nice and the bar seemed enjoyable but there was a reason that a dinner reservation was available. read more

After learning the low season in Pigeon Forge causes low patronage, we stopped worrying as we walked into an empty restaurant. Kind of a 50s-60s tropical decor. The hotel reception and, most of all, the restaurant staff were exceptionally gracious and engaging throughout our visit. We were specifically looking for plant-based meal options. The Asst. Mgr and Chef really helped us out and have quite a few options. However, the chef also asked if he could create a special plant-based dish just for us. The food and presentation of it was spectacular and delicious! For all diets, the standing menu is extensive; as well as cocktail & mocktail options. Paloma is located on the property of the Wayback Hotel, but it's street-facing, so it looks like a stand-alone restaurant / bar. And it kind of is, except that every so often, you'll see someone come into Paloma to check into their hotel room. Paloma is apparently also the front desk of the Wayback Hotel. But it's also its own thing. It serves two purposes. I wasn't staying at the Wayback Hotel when I visited Paloma, but I wish I was! This hotel is very cool and modern. Everyone is welcome at Paloma, though, even street urchins like myself who are staying at different hotels. I came in by myself to get a cheeky drink and a dessert at the bar. The dessert menu is paired down; it was four things. The thing I chose was not available, so I got the flanchoco, which is a dark chocolate cake with flan and blackberry curd. I am not usually a fan of chocolate and fruit togehter, but I loved the flanchoco. It paired well with my Spanish glass of red wine. Paloma has a full bar with cocktails and wine and beer. The bartender was very knowledgable and had lots of opinions (in a good way), and was happy to recommend drinks to people who were indecisive. Apparently, Paloma is open only for breakfast (7-11 a.m.) and dinner / late night (5 pm-midnight). read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Me and my boyfriend came here for Valentine's Day. We have never been here before, so we wanted to try something new for the occasion. We go in, the place is nicely decorated, so we had high hopes. It took 20 mins for a waiter to even come and ask what we wanted to drink. The only thing they have that was even acceptable was the guacamole, but it's hard to mess up guacamole. We get our entrees, and both of our smiles drop. I got the carne asada, The steak was burnt and raw inside, the vegetables were lukewarm and soggy, and I had multiple pieces of hair in my food. My boyfriend got the chicharron, which was pork belly fried. Most pieces only contained fat, he only had three pieces of it, and he feels already nauseated and sick only 20 minutes later. I took two bites of my food and couldn't take the charcoal taste anymore. I have never felt this way about any meal in my life, but I wanted to cry. Not only the food was bad, it was WAY too expensive. There is no reason to pay 40 dollars for a 5 oz brunt tenderloin, alongside soggy vegetables and rice. I am not a person who complains about food, I try to be open minded about anything I try. This is the first time I ever felt the need to write a negative review on any establishment. Great cocktails and delicious food. We had the pork belly and shrimp and pork tacos and the food was delicious. Delicious spicy Paloma and we tried three other, all very good and interesting! Great ambiance and a nice reprieve from the pigeon forge atmosphere while still being in the middle of everything. The only drawback was the service was very slow. Very friendly staff, but not a lot of diners while we were there and wait times and check ins lacked a bit. Definitely recommend and will be back! read more

I'm not sure why the lack of reviews for this place or why Marriott hasn't invested in advertising or claiming this business. After spending a week in a tourist trap city where it seems like 5-star reviews are bought- let me tell you, this one is not. You always find the best eatery on your last night, amirite? Located in the "Wayback" hotel is this gem of a find. We shared 2 entrees, the Mahi Mahi with a delicious grilled corn and tomato jam and the hangar steak with butter beans. Both entrees were cooked perfectly and packed full of fresh flavors. Being used to having every single steak over cooked, we ordered medium rare, hoping for medium at best. Well- don't do that. Trust the chef. We got what we asked for- a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. We made a comment to the server about how we were disappointed to miss the breakfast here because we saw the grapefruit brûlée listed. She went and asked the chef if he could make us one. He delivered and It was divine as well! The menu is not expansive and it is more than just another taco joint. We saw several people come in from the hotel, look at the menu leave. Their bad. Give this place a chance, you won't regret it. I didn't take any photos. That was my bad. You will wait for your bar drinks. The service at Paloma was awesome, 10/10. The food was just okay. We ordered the pork belly which was pretty good since you can never go wrong with fried pork. I enjoyed the crunchy topping and sweet/spicy sauce combination. We also had the shrimp nachos which I would not recommend. At first I thought the nachos didn't have cheese but after a few bites I noticed there was some type of cheese sauce at the bottom. The sauce was more like a milky soup. Otherwise, drinks were fine. I had a vodka soda and the signature Paloma cocktail. If you're used to a traditional Paloma with grapefruit soda and tequila- the signature cocktail was not it. If I were to stay at the hotel again, I would go back for drinks and the pork belly. read more
