    Dylan drink, flaming smoke chips
    Doug H.

Never have I look at the bill at the end of a meal and thought "This cant be my bill, we enjoyed it soo much vs this lower price than we expected". I immediately double checked, and it was mine. This is a nice smaller gem of a nice resturant, my drink "The Dylan" was an experience, flaming smoke chips i blew out, they put my glass over the smoke, then poured in the drink. My family was wondering how much that would cost, I didn't care it was good... found out at end it was just $15, if I knew I would have ordered alot more. Pork belly scallops were very good but the 2 scallops seemed like one cut on half but the sauce made up for it, and the pork was great. Lemon sorbet palette cleanser was so good people in my group asked for it for dessert as well Lobster bisque was one of the better ones I have had anywhere. Multiple people ordered filets with different finishing sauces, everyone liked theirs. I ordered the porterhouse and enjoyed every bite. Wish I lived closer, definitely worth the trip

Moist Meatballs in espagnole sauce, so tasty!

Been to the Greenbrier several times, the location , ambiance, decor- superb, the service - top notch, the drinks - always excellent, try the boba cocktail, apparently it's outstanding! The food.... And this is just my opinions and those of the people I generally always dine with, good but at times, can miss the mark. The prime meatballs, in espagnole sauce, so moist, and flavorful, a winner, and truly a generous portion, great to share. The bone marrow, if you love it, well it gets totally lost in too much roasted short rib/very sweet onion marmalade. The duck breast, the best dish of the night, even if it was drowned in excessive cherry, whatever it was??? It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, Just scrape it off. The goat cheese cavatelli, lacked flavor, had no seasoning, but the best part of the dish, the base of smooth cauliflower mouselline purée, it was sublime, but not enough to save this dish. I'm a carnivore but sadly I think vegetarians get forgotten at times, this dish had such potential, it's almost as if the tangy Chèvre was omitted. Roasting the mushrooms, adding a stronger herb presence, or just some salt would have helped. Now to the Wellington, I've had it here a few times, it's always good, a strong dish you can count on, even if this time it was a tad dry, the sauce saves it, and was still delicious on a busy 4th of July weekend. Always a strong contender! Last minute reservations at the bar, seated right away, a lovely meal! Greenbrier, A solid choice every time...

Warm goat cheese and pistachio appetizer

After a day of hiking trails in Gatlinburg, it was great to have dinner at the Greenbrier to look forward to. The place had rustic charm, fireplaces, views and terrific service. Joe took great care of us. After the complimentary warm buttered corn bread, we started with the warm goat cheese app followed by a wedge salad. For the mains we had duck and steak- both were excellent. The kitchen really knows how to season, cook to temperature and deliver wonderful plates. We had a great experience overall.

An absolute must-try when in Gatlinburg! My boyfriend surprised me with a reservation here for our anniversary, and it was perfect! It was just far enough away from the craziness of downtown and there was plenty of parking. Walking up, all of the fire and candles give it such a warm and welcoming ambiance. It almost felt like an upscale cabin inside with all of the wood touches. Our waiter was so professional, informative, and kind throughout the entire meal. We also loved the rose they gave us as a special touch for the evening. We started out with the complimentary spoon bread, which was very soft and buttery, followed by the Duck and Dumplings appetizer. The whole dish was so very good and we loved it. I wish the gnocchi was a little bit bigger and my boyfriend said he could eat a bowl of that broth haha. Each of our meals also came with a side salad, so we both got the house with a yummy citrus dressing. In between our appetizers and our mains, they brought out a complimentary lemon sorbet, which was also delicious and dessert-worthy. For our mains, I got the Beef Welling and he got the Seafood Risotto, plus we split the Pommes Puree that came with mine. The Wellington was phenomenal - super soft with a great flaky exterior. A couple parts were very salty, not sure if the meat was maybe unevenly seasoned, but it was nothing crazy. Paired great with the Pommes Puree as well (which were a bit less of a puree than we were imagining). The Risotto was also yummy with large pieces of seafood, we just wished the lobster was not still in the shell and hard to get out. For dessert, they offered us a choice of a couple items for our anniversary on the house, which was very generous and special. We chose some sort of chocolate mousse or cake which was the perfect end to the meal. We both will definitely be back the next time we're in town and highly recommend it!

We had dinner reservations somewhere else so went to just have a cocktail. I had the Lydia which was really delicious. My husband had a smoked old fashioned and he said it lacked bourbon lol. The staff was ok. It's a little uptight of an atmosphere people wise. Aesthetic wise it's beautiful! Reminds me of somewhere in Highlands, NC. We took our drink and sat outside by the firepit. We would go back and try dinner.

    unsure, not what I ordered.

Went here for our anniversary dinner while visiting Tennessee. We arrived at 8:30, seated , greeted, ordered drinks and appetizers. they arrived in a fair amount of time, then the wait for dinner, over an 1hr wait, all for them to bring me the incorrect dish. What a disappointment! The manager removed the appetizers but charged us for our drinks. I will say the pork belly was amazing... the meatballs were good too. Service is very slow, Per the manager it takes 30-40 min to prepare a dish, multiply that by a busy establishment and you end up with....... total time spent in restaurant to only have had 2 drinks and 2 appetizers, 2 hours!

This was a great place to celebrate my 40th birthday. First time having spoon bread and all I have is it was amazing. Also a first for the Tomahawk Steak. It was so good. Cook to perfection. Seasoned great. The staff did so well of taking care of us. They met our needs before we knew we had them. The quiet vibe was great for me and my wife to talk. The veiws from inside were great. Romantic vibes. Rustic elegance vibes too. Highly recommend this place.

If you want a restaurant that has a great elevated atmosphere, good wine selection and good food in the smokies this is the spot. Even if you have to wait, there is a nice fire pit with chairs you can wait in.

After hearing so many good things about this place, we left very disappointed. Ordered a strip and they were out, so we went with a porterhouse. The first few bites were ok, but then it began getting incredibly tough. There were chunks of meat that my steak knife literally could not cut through- really weird for a $72 "prime" steak. The mashed potatoes were also dry and crumbly, falling apart over the plate when you tried to get a bite. They did end up taking the steak off our bill, but didn't offer to make another for us which was a little odd. Our waitress was very nice, but we often had empty waters, waited a very long time for drinks, etc. Others at our table said they enjoyed their meals, so I am hoping this was a fluke . willing to give it another try in the future and see if it is any different.

The Greenbriar was the choice for the Sunday following a busy Valentine's Day weekend. 2025 Brings all the promise of a new year. The setting is laid back and the lights down low. A relaxing patio on the front of the properties' entrance is a nice way to draw off your cigar or step out while you wait on an entree. They also have cigars at the bar if you need one. We asked the hostess if we could get in without a reservation and she fit us in for table. We started off with a drink at the bar. They have a good selection of carefully crafted cocktails. The smoked old fashioned presentation was well executed and fun for the ladies to view. Our server Hannah was relaxed with our order and took her time to make sure we had our courses paced as needed. We all enjoyed a salad course, Wedge and Caesar were both excellent, also another garden salad with vinaigrette. We shared the scallops appetizer, and the goat cheese appetizer is delicious the pistachio, cranberry and honey drizzle nailed it. For mains we chose the Duck, Lamb Shank, the Vegatable gnocchi, and last but not least the chicken (86ed) subbed salmon with same sides as the original entree. The lamb shank was exquisite! We enjoyed a nice conservation as the window behind the dining room showed a slight snow to fall. A icy cool way to end our night in Gatlinburg. They brought out a free chocolate mousse for a Birthday boy at the table. It was delicious and nice finish to the night.

    Signature cocktail

This was by far one of the BEST experiences we have had in a long time and we go out pretty often! Zach gave impeccable service, I mean top notch. The food was delicious! Everything was prepared perfectly, no notes! We came for my birthday but would dine here every weekend if we could.

Life's too short for bad food, even on vacation. Make the reservation, eat well, spoil yourself, enjoy the moments! THE ONLY restaurant to eat at when in Gatlinburg is here!!. The food, the staff and the atmosphere here is ALWAYS outstanding! I started with their smoked octopus that has Tasso ham, rainbow chard and an arbol chili aioli (I will figure out a home recipe for myself) Afterwards they always bring out the lemon sorbet to cleanse the pallet, and of course as a girl who loves anything lemon, mmm mmm! And for my entreé I did the American Bison Ribeye with foie gras butter and rapini, and if you know me, I like my meat RARE, and this was perfect! I had a glass of Argentine Malbec to compliment the meat and if I had not been raised with manners and etiquette, I would have licked the plates! (Chefs kiss) As always, compliments to the chef! I look forward to coming back here when I'm visiting Gatlinburg! And if you're anywhere near here, you have to go!

The ambiance is amazing and secluded. A lot of history in the building, loved the lighting The menu choices have options you do not see just anywhere. They have Wellington and the best "old fashioned" I have ever had. Must try: spoon bread, it is complementary to the meal

    Are children welcome?

Yes! Children are in the restaurant area but I never seen them in the bar lounge.

    Is there a dress code?

No dress code that I know of. Just casual I would say as most places are in the Smokies. No bathing suits or anything like that, of course! Just enjoy the amazing food and one-of-a-kind atmosphere!

Do they take reservations for a party of 5?

Yes. In advance. Never been able to get a reservation the day of.

Do men need a collared shirt?

    No they do not.

Do they have a kids menu?

I don't think so. I do not remember seeing one. It's a pretty refined menu.

Our waitress was flustered and continued to joke about her inability to properly care for her tables. After quickly shifting to an alternative, one meal came out with the wrong bread changing the entire dish - multiple meals cold and chicken not thoroughly cooked thru. Out of 5 meals - the only thing that came out with quality was a burger and fries. To round out the night, our waitress closed things out not asking how dinner was or if to-go boxes were needed but in fact stated, "I can understand if y'all didn't enjoy your dinner".
