I've been going to Azul for over 15 years. I remember when they first opened! I was so excited! The economy was so good we would go buy $16 dollar juices and get the spa treatment for $300+ dollars. Fast forward to 2022, after the restrictions and changes in economy businesses need to EARN our money! Did Azul Earn my money today ? No and also permanently lost my patronage. In fact I can think of no worse experience I've Ever had than this last visit! For starters I came in to the salon for a nail color change, and an eyebrow wax. I was the only customer, there were three ladies working. First the one person in charge stayed sitting and crossed her arms (was she angry I came in? LOL) then she seemed put out to offer me nail service. Over the last 15 years I've done multiple reviews of Azul and based on honest evaluation gave them great reviews 99% of the time. No one ever said hello, greeted me, said goodbye, thank you or in any way addressed me as a human, much less a valued customer. There were smiles and hellos, but all done by me And IGNORED BY EMPLOYEES! 5 minutes into my service $45) I turned on the chair massager. The woman in charge started laughing when the vibration started. I guess my 32 DD amused her ! (I'm not kidding. It was like dealing with a rude 9 year old boy! I looked up in disbelief and she stopped laughing AND held a somber countenance on her face. Do you really think I don't know your laughing at me? Are you laughing in Mandarin? When I was done with the nails I asked about the eyebrow wax. They refused to wax my eyebrows??? Lol she said she was too busy. There was one more soul who had wandered into this den of unpleasantness and myself. Three employees and two women myself included. You do the math. I asked 3 times to three different people because I was sure I had misheard or misunderstood. I had not! Very disappointed. And this is putting it lightly.... I usually go to another place that is very much closer to my home but my nail tech is on maternity leave until JULY! (sobbing uncontrollably as I type..) I was referred here by a friend and read the reviews but still thought to give them a chance. The salon was unorganized and not clean. Cleanliness is very important for me since Ive had the issue of an infected nail at a previous nail salon. A lot of the reviews I read mention how rude the staff is. I can see why people would think this. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told to sit at one of their pedicure bowls. No one gave direction as to where to get nail polishes etc. I felt they were being pushy. The tech who did my pedicure was super sweet but the person doing acrylic fill (at the same time as my pedicure) was abrasive. I'd like to mention to have a pedicure and your fill done at the SAME TIME IS NOT comfortable or enjoyable!! People get pedicures for the relaxation piece.. IMO. The quality of the acrylic powder seemed pretty cheap. I always get pink and white fills and the back fill of the white tips looked super white and chalky. I asked for a soft round on my nails and did not get that. Though the lady who did my pedicure was sweet she left my toenails uneven. Some toenails are smaller then others and some have a slant where she was filing at a curve. When all said was done, I went to pay. I thought that I would at least not be paying my regular rates since the salon I go to is very meticulous and charges pretty heavily because of it. Nope..NOT the case. I paid the same amount as I would at my regular place that actually pampers you with the price you pay. Thats not it! I was then CHARGED .50 CENTS FOR EVERY TEN DOLLARS MY BILL AMOUNTED TOO FOR USING MY DEBIT/CREDIT CARD!!!! I've paid a transaction fee before, but are you kidding me with this FIFTY CENTS FOR EVERY TEN DOLLARS!?!? Needless to say I had to pay $5 more for the mediocre nail service I had. In my opinion...DONT GO HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY! To me, that is straight up stealing!! and PS - AZUL DAY SPA... Warn your customers on your ridiculous transaction fee so that people can be better prepared by bringing in cash!! Who carries cash anymore these days!!!! Upon reading the reviews I was looking forward to coming here. I came to get a gel manicure and I have left with cuts on five of my fingers with one of them bleeding a lot. Jessica was a little messy when it came to trimming my cuticles. I know mistakes happen but half of my nails are burning right now. There is not much of a selection on colors for what I am used to, but there were some beautiful colors in the mix. She gave me a wonderful hand/half arm massage afterwards. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a language barrier but from listening to the others, I don't think it is a common thing here. I was disappointed with the front desk service. The woman was a little cold and did not even ask how the service was. I wished her a good day and she said "thanks." It is not that they are blatantly mean but I prefer a place with exceptional customer service so I will not be returning. The polish itself has bumps at the tip on four of my nails and started to crack less than a week later. read more

Okay let me start by saying, it's Mother's Day weekend. I GET IT! I came to Arizona to spend the weekend with my best friend for her 30th birthday and I was so excited to take her to get her nails done ( and mine too ). So like I stated before, it's Mother's Day weekend so it's extremely busy. We walk in and they say to come back in an hour because it's so busy. No problem! I got to explore Arizona! We come back in an hour and walked in to the business and the first red flag should have been when the SAME LADY who told us to come back, wouldn't even pick up her head to acknowledge us. The man next to her asked us what we needed and told us to come back in an hour AGAIN. If it's too busy, GET ORGANIZED. But truly, CUSTOMER SERVICE! She couldn't even look at us walk in because she knew she messed up. We just went to the other nail salon in the plaza and the team member took us after waiting a little bit. I came here upon the referral of a good friend who had INCREDIBLE nail designs all of the time. Lien is the SH*T! To begin with, I was a bit early and Lien was right there ready for me. She got right to business, asking what ideas I had in mind- when I told her 4th of July, so was so excited! No one had asked for 4th of July yet (come on people, by a patriot!!). I showed her some ideas off of Pinterest, and there was nothing she couldn't do. Lien spent about 2 hours on just my manicure, and while it could have been because it was a slow Tuesday, I think it was because she really just wanted to take her time and do things right. She gave me a great shape on my nails, trimmed my cuticles perfectly and got to work on the polish. It is obvious she takes great pride in her work, because she constantly stopped to check to make sure everything was perfect. Lien worked incredibly hard on my nails, and I still can not believe how cool they turned out! I have a manicurist already that I will be returning to wen I get a normal mani/pedi, but whenever I want nail designs, I will definitely be coming to see Lien! -Only downside was the price. $45 for a gel mani with designs. However, she literally painted a masterpiece on my nails, so I think it was totally worth it! Thanks Lien!! read more

Ive gotten some nice clean nails & also some ugly thick crooked claws LOL. only thing that bothers me is that their prices don't match with what is on their price menu. Each tech will pretty much charge you whatever they feel like in that moment (even for basic, no design, it changes everytime i go) Which is ok, everyone knows the value of their work and how much its worth, but then don't make a price menu! read more

I've been coming to Azul for over 10 years and today will be the last visit. Appointments were scheduled for me and my husband at 1pm. He was immediately seated with the requested technician. I was put in the massage chair next to him with an inch of hot water in the foot bowl to wait for my gal to finish with the previous client. 15 minutes pass and I ask if my technician was even present. I was told she was just finishing up and would be right over. Another 15 minutes pass and I had to stand because the chair was getting uncomfortable. After a total of 40 minutes the assigned technician wheeled her cart over to my chair and I told her "not today". My husband was just wrapping up his pedicure ... why would we want to wait?! Excuse after excuse at this salon for YEARS and now that the best technicians have moved on to other careers, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Don't bother with Azul .... Chloe (owner) does not care about her employees (see another Yelp review) ... I've known for years but decided to continue returning for the talented artists that I bonded with. I have been coming for pedicures for years. I will now be going elsewhere. I had cards where you get $10 off after your tenth pedicure. Well, I had three cards and they tell me that they don't combined the cards. I have never had a business say or do that. Its obvious I'm a regular customer who has been there ten times because of the signed cards. So they would rather lose business than combined cards to give a $10 discount. They are such cheap-asses...they'll do anything to get out of giving that $10 off, and I didn't know this until I was paying. I also noticed that they rushed through my pedicure. It was a disappointment. They now lost us as customers. Me, my husband and my daughter used to go there. I'm glad I did find a nail place closer to my home now. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. CONSUMER BEWARE. First off the nail tech that did my nails used cheap horrible stuff on my nails for acrylic. They are super thick and when I tried to get her to lessen the thickness. She said it's necessary. Also she gave me falcon claws when I asked her when she glued the tips on why is it curved like a flacon claw. She said she'd fix it. I was quoted a completely different price based off a brochure & was charged $55 for a full set with no gel overlay just regular polish. Nothing fancy either just square regular full set. Now I've been trying to soak them off w/ acetone & it's not coming off. Which tells me Amanda (nail tech) uses really cheap, & very bad for your nails monomer. Those chemicals are cheap for a reason and they cause problems & damage to the nail bed. So please learn from my mistake, DO NOT COME HERE! read more

My friend has been going to Brian for years and has raved about him. First off he squeezed me in last minute that in itself I am so thankful for. He was wonderful, friendly, did an awesome job, price was affordable and he gave theeeee best scalp massage when shampooing (I would pay for that alone)! The nails are great but they are definitely not worth paying for at this place. I went there for a couple of months and what I witnessed there made the decision for me to not want to go back. Don't get me wrong, the nails were great but what made them not worth it for me was how the female owner of the salon treated people. On more than one occasion, I witnessed her insult, make fun of, and be rude to different people. The first incident was while my technician, who was about to have her baby (why is an 8 months pregnant woman working at a nail salon is beyond me). The owner was having a conversation with one of the other nail techs. It must be a source of pride to be able to speak English properly because the owner and the nail tech were making fun of my nail tech for her less than perfect English. Strike number 1. The second incident is when the same lady told her hostess (she had to be about 19, and no more than 115 lbs.) that she needs to stop eating so much because she's getting fat. Not joking, totally serious. Strike 2. The last straw was an interaction my husband witnessed. An older woman received a gift card as a gift but it had expired. She asked the owner if there was any way she could at least use it for half the value so it didn't totally go to waste. She asked in a very sweet tone. The owner, in a rude and borderline mean tone said "No it's expired. The date is written on there." The older woman, seemingly disappointed but still very kind, asks if there are any exceptions that could be made or if she could speak to the owner. Again, In a rude and now agitated tone, the owner's response "I am the owner and no exceptions." Strike 3. I will not support a business where the owners/supervisors think they can mistreat others. Especially one that only gives their employees one day off and no benefits. read more

Super nice service and the place is very clean and really spacious that's why am giving it as many stars as I have. My only problem is that I spent $120 for three people I got a full set of nails done and my mom got a full set of nails done and my fiancé got his toes done. For 50 bucks for my nails they were not straight and they fell off with in less than two weeks of wearing them. My mom's nails we're the same price but smaller length I felt like I was overcharged for her nail job. And her nails have lasted her past three weeks. read more

This was an overpriced pedi that was worth $15. First of all, my tech walked away from me during my pedicure a good 5 times. She was answering phone calls, setting up other clients, and doing things for other clients so I'm guessing she was a receptionist l. The ladies were very nice but I'm very upset I noticed they did not properly sanitize there tools after getting a pedicure there I got fungus which I have not ever had an issue with my feet. Definitely do not recommend. As well as my friend that went with me they cut her toe nails wrong to which she then got ingrowns on her big toes. I've been coming to Azul for years and have had nothing but great experiences. It is a very relaxing place and the technicians are experienced and talented.Thats why it pains me to post a negative review. I've been thinking about it for a few days though, Its important to be accurate about the service I received. First off they were gracious to work us into the schedule for an eyebrow wax and a simple change of paint with a design. I brought my 3 year old in who is quiet and well behaved to get her nails painted . The problem is I paid the same amount for a design as if a person had actually done something nice to several nails. Almost as an afterthought she put a flower onto 2 nails on her hands and none on her feet. She didn't ask what kind of design we wanted so she just gave us a black flower since the nails are peach color it ends up looking like a Halloween design. In addition to that as far as my eyebrow wax, I can get an eyebrow wax anywhere and not have a problem. I have never had someone wax from the top of the brow. Now I feel as though my eyebrow looks like an ocean waves and I have to fill in the top of it with a pencil. $35....a shame! read more

I came in to get my toes done. A spa pedi worth 31 plus gel +4. Half the time I did feel like they were talking shit but I feel like everyone always feels like that . She didn't really get under my big toe , which was lowkey the reason I went, so my toes can get CLEANED. The back massage was whack . But I guess overall she was good. Amazing staff! I come here every two weeks with my mom to get our nails done. The front is always sweet and greets us, directing us to chose a color and checking for a wait time which never is long. Great conversation while getting our nails done. We also love getting pedicures because they are SO relaxing! The massage chairs and the neck massage you get are amazing! This salon is nicely decorated. I've been going to Azul Day Spa every few months since last year. The same young lady always did my manicure until last Wednesday. I think the younger lady was busy so they sat me with an older lady. I felt okay because usually older people are more attentive to the task at hand ( no pun intended). Boy was I wrong! I came here only because my usual spot on 35th Ave. and Greenway Rd. (Az-3D Nails is the freaking best!!!!) was closed today. I've been here once before over a year ago and remembered the service to be pricey but decent and far from anything to complain about. Today was a different story. The lady who did my pedicure half assed the entire job! I really like my feet and I literally almost cried when I seen my toes. So short, uneven and maybe about 6/10 of them are square like I asked. She also makes me sit up for a "massage" that was really her patting my back for 15 seconds like she was burping her child!! I'm not one to not tip but for the first time, I would've felt disrespected by myself had I of. I will NEVER be back here again. The entire experience was purely a joke!!! read more
