My only complaint was the enchiladas verde dinner was so tiny- it looked like a child's meal, and my dining companion was still totally hungry after. Having just finished getting our house repainted (took 2.5 days to get it done by professional painters), my wife and I neither had the energy nor will to cook at home, which is in disarray with the painting. We were going to need to stop by Lowe's anyway to pick up a hose clamp for securing the dryer vent hose (prior owners used zip ties for that purpose...really?) so we decided to try out Azul after our painters provided positive experiences after eating lunch there. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't packed. We were seated immediately...place seemed spacious and had a lively vibe with various tequila-themed neon signs. I ordered their carnitas plate and my wife chose the spinach quesadilla WITHOUT mushrooms off the lunch special menu. The tortilla chips were warm but the salsa, while decent, tasted sweet and lacked some punch. When our meals were served, it became apparent that my wife's quesadilla had plenty of mushrooms, even after the server repeated my wife's order of no mushrooms. I couldn't wait for our server to return with her meal so I proceeded to sample their carnitas. When I initially asked our server how their carnitas were, she said they're "pretty good"...and I would think the carnitas were just OK. My wife, once her meal was served after what felt like a long wait, liked her quesadilla. She thought the spinach flavor shined through. All in all, a decent meal with nice presentation that would suffice if we were hankering for Mexican food and didn't want to drive far. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to about $36. read more

A spot that my parents enjoy, we decided to give it a go. Great service, friendly and fun atmosphere. The chile relleno is very good, esquites is as well. We also got one of the molcajetes but I wouldn't get it again. Molcajetes are supposed to be cooked so that it comes out sizzling and the cheese and juices mix in the bottom. This one had the food cooked and then placed in the molcajete. So, constructive feedback, it's dry. Otherwise a great spot. read more

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant. The ambiance is great and the food is always good. I actually DoorDash from here more often than actually going to the restaurant, but that's because it's easier for my husband and I. We go to the restaurant when we're having dinner with friends. There's plenty of comfortable seating and the chips and salsa are always fresh. We have tried many of their dishes and have never been disappointed. Strong frozen margaritas, and table side made guacamole is very good! The fajitas do not look like the menu pictures whatsoever. I ordered the Texas Rice with 3 proteins: steak, chicken, and shrimp. It was delicious. Took home some for leftovers the next day and the mixture was again delish! Steak pieces were small and tender, shrimp just right. Our young server was very attentive and seemed happy to serve us, a large group. We moved from California to Florida I thought I would miss California's food but I am sooo wrong. Florida's Food scene is one of the best in America. There is so much to choose from. This restaurant's ambience is fun right from the entrance a gaudy but fun lounge sofa invites you to take some selfies. Once seated and I looked around it is clean, modern but also fun. The food one of the best. My husband and I are foodies so we have been to really good restaurants. I also work in fine dining so I can say that I have a very snobby taste in food bcz we are trained to change our palates to described our menu very well. I ordered the Fried Mojarra or Fried Tilapia, the plating is pure genious. Its beautiful fun and very functional. I am very happy with my dish and so does my husband who ordered Carne Asada and he ate it all. Our server Valery is also friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended. I've had a couple of great experiences here in the last week. The restaurant is very spacious and roomy. The food is top notch and if you are looking for a place for a wide selection on Tequila and Margaritas, this is your place! Lots of different menu and drink menu items have flights so it is nice to try different items. The burritos and tacos were good. The only bad parts is on one night the street corn came out cold and on the second night I ordered a Cincoro Reposado that I drank, but didn't know until the bill came that I was given the Anejo... a much pricier beverage. I know that I did drink it, but there was no offer to lower the bill when it was the waiters job to bring me what I ordered. We will go back, but next time, they will lose out on an alcohol purchase. read more

Amazing! The Chimiburria made with slow roasted brisket is a mouth pleasing experience to the last bite. The Tri Enchiladas are outstandingly plated full of fresh flavor. Will Not Return -- Treated Like a Suspect Instead of a Guest I've been a frequent guest at Azul tequila , but my recent experience has completely changed my view of this place. After ordering a drink, I was asked for my ID and credit card -- something that's never happened before. I asked why, and was told it was "policy" to hold a card just in case someone stole the bottles. I found this explanation tacky, inappropriate, and honestly insulting. I felt disrespected for no reason. As someone who has supported this business in the past, this treatment was deeply disappointing. This is the only Mexican place in Ocala that is worth eating at. I travel around the country and the Mexican food in Ocala is nasty , but this place shows some serious effort and good quality. We finally tried this 'new to us' restaurant in Ocala. They have been open since last September. The restaurants decor is fun, colorful and unique but not overdone. The complimentary chips and salsa reminded us of the authentic chips and salsa we've had in Mexico. A nice 'touch' Tom's El Gordo Burrito was aesthetically appealing, temperature warm and a large portion. I had chicken fajita...yummy. We were out running errands on the weekend and decided to stop here for Lunch since we've been wanting to eat here for awhile. First off, I love the setting and decor in the restaurant! I love the picture area at the entrance ! And the food!? The food was sooooooo good!! The food was fresh, perfectly cooked, the variety of textures from the different ingredients all complemented each other and man!! that Salsa was perfect. I love the drinks, which are all made from scratch by the way! And the presentation was very nice and vibrant! The service was really good not just at our table but at other tables. Fresh and new! What sets this restaurant apart from the many other restaurants in the area is it's freshness and new age style. The food opens are also different and interesting. Like a slightly upgraded version of classic dishes. All our our food was very tasty. Starting with the chips and chunky salsa. Salsa was garden fresh with a nice amount of spice. I branched out and tried the Burrito Pina, which was stuffed with chicken, chorizo and pineapple. I was intrigued by the pineapple and am so happy I tried it! It came with a lovely little fresh greens side salad and rice. Delicioso! My dad decided to go for the Quesobrirras and he clearly liked it! My mom went for the cantina bowl with mushrooms and extra vedge. She did say it needed a touch more flavor. In retrospect, she wished she'd put some of the salsa on it and it woulda been perfect. We were so stuffed by the end we ended up skipping dessert. Next time we would love to come grab some apps and get one of the margarita flights. We did have to keep in mind that this place is a touch on the pricey side. For 3 entrees, one with extra vedge, and two sodas we ended up right at $70. But I'd say the experience and food quality made up for it. Entrees like the burrito could have totally been made into two meals, but I had skipped lunch, so I dominated it. I think maybe lunch time specials would be more my speed. Still, would definitely come back and try some more options! read more

They have happy hour, a beautiful big bar and the food is so yummy. My favorite food when I go to a Mexican restaurant is refried beans and theirs are homemade and so delicious! I even asked for the ingredients and how they prepare them. I was so happy with my service and food that I ended up going back a second night, which breaks my normal rule. I've been here twice so far and both times were great! My friend and I had the jalapeño and blackberry margaritas (delish!!) and the taquitos flight as well as the empanadas. These were appetizers but still so filling especially with the free chips and salsa you get. Service was great and our waitress was very helpful when we were choosing which drinks to try and she also brought out extra hot sauces for us to dabble in.
