My husband and I ate here for the first time this past weekend, and we had a great experience. The decor was bright, colorful, and fun. The service was quick and accurate. Our drinks never ran dry. We started with warm chips and salsa, which were good. We drank sweet tea. It was appropriately sweet but not overly sweet. I ordered combination 7 and substituted a beef taco for the enchilada. The taco was crispy and delicious. The Chile relleno had great flavor and a kick of spice. The rice had great flavor, and the beans were creamy and savory. My husband ordered the choripollo, which had delicious chorizo and perfectly grilled chicken. We finished the meal with fried ice cream. So first let me say the food here is really good. Service was also good and it's so nicely decorated with beautiful, painted furniture and decor. It was definitely a good experience. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it's yet another Mexican restaurant that caters more to Americans instead of having authentic Mexican cuisine. I understand why many places do this. Americans are the majority of your customers. Not judging. But I prefer authentic Mexican so I was a little bit disappointed. Other than that, it's a great restaurant and we enjoyed it. read more

The food was decent- value was there. The atmosphere and service was as expected. The only problem was that they must clean with Fabuloso. It smells SO strong, it feels like I'm dining in a public restroom. Fabuloso is nauseating, and everybody (ethnic restos) use it. Stop it! read more

Me and my boyfriend went for margs that were clearly on the online menu. we ordered tacos & mexican street corn. First, they had no margaritas. they had some wine cooler margarita. the salsa was partly frozen. The street corn was unseasoned. having only the crema and some cheese on it. One of the best google searches I've done in quite some time. To start things off, we received the usual chips and salsa. The salsa had very good flavor. Margarita was absolutely great. So good that I had to have another. My brother and I were in the mood for seafood and the dishes we chose were absolutely delicious. The flavor, the mix of vegetables, cheese, and shrimp. My fajitas had peppers, onions, shrimp, scallops, and tilapia. Fajitas were awesome. Service was very helpful and on the mark. Highly recommend giving it a try. I know I will. read more

The food is pretty good. I'm not a huge Mexican food fan in general. I always get the fish tacos. I don't care for the seasoning they use with the beef but that's personal preference. It doesn't taste bad. I'd give 5 stars but it's "decent typical Mexican food" for me. Nothing super special. read more

After hearing about this place from numerous people we decided to check it out. We were delighted with the food and the friendly service. They even had my husband's absolute favorite dish (molcajete) which he has never seen anywhere other than Rocco's Tacos. I got the #7 combo of enchilada, Chile relleno, rice and beans with an extra steak soft taco. I wish I had snapped some pictures but we dug in too quick and ate every last bite! They don't have alcohol yet so no margaritas but they are working on it. In the meantime drop in and enjoy the food with a soda or tea I highly recommend this place! read more

In Ocala for a wedding and wanted to get a quick dinner on a Friday night. Just down the road from the hotel was Los Magueyes... The motif... A bit cheesy. The staff... Excellent. The drinks and dinner were very good. A bit charred on the Steak Guadalajara but still very tasty. The chicken chipotle my wife had was excellent. Since I can't do 1/2 stars I gave, them the extra half. Even with a full house we were seated and served in a prompt manor. Hungry? I recommend it. read more

Ordered beans for dipping and got a shallow bowl with what looked like a scoop of beans in a sea of what we figured was queso - BETTER than what we thot we ordered! So far, so good! Big menu - it took a while for all of us to decide (and the staff VERY patient with us even after a 2nd basket of chips). Nice people. I ended up with my "standard" at a new Mexican place - a chimichanga. I always try these first as my means of comparison. Almost sorry to say - I did not enjoy it as much as I usually do. I ordered a shrimp chimi, and the shell was not crispy at all- it was doughy and tough. The shrimp were like salad shrimp size, and few at that. I was all set to LOVE it, but instead I was a quite a bit disappointed. Oh well, another time we might try something else. I was pleased with all of the items we ordered. Well prepared and served rather quickly considering how busy they were. Notable for us was the Street Corn and the quality of the Guacamole. I had a steak dish, and my wife ordered the Tilapia. Both were excellent. My only complaint was the food could have been hotter. I will go back here. read more

Decided to stop in for dinner, as it is very convenient to where we live, instead of the dreaded 30 minute drive out on SR200. Upon arrival, immediately noticed a brightly lit place(overhead fluorescent), not what im used to from a mexican restaurant. They do have dimly lit hanging lamps over each table, but the bright overhead lighting seems to defeat the purpose. Perhaps lower the intensity of the lighting? I did notice the place is super clean. They do have some outdoor seating but we sat inside. The other oddity that stuck out was the absolute silence inside... no music..almost felt like a breakfast diner. Later on, i did notice the faint sound of mexican music in background, but definitely not the "vibe" that i am accustomed to. I had the House Margarita(frozen) Honestly the best Margarita I might have ever had!! Seemed like it was handcrafted, and not out of the frozen machine. 16 oz. for $7.95 was respectable in my opinion. Now for the downside... The meal was average at best. The combo 13 I had was mostly warm ground beef, very little "sauce" and not much cheese on the burrito. My wife had the combo "white enchiladas". Again, the meat was mostly only warm, with the cheese having totally baked out of one. I am accustomed to steaming hot plates being brought out to the table, with the servers wearing heavy oven mitts to put the plate down(shoutout to el toreo ocala). Not the case here. Other than the outstanding Margarita, unfortunately, I dont think we will return. read more

So disappointing! Be aware that the menu posted online on the company website is incorrect - prices are about $2-3 higher per item. This should have been a warning to me, but I still ordered take out, and the portions were tiny. I spent $30 on 2 entrees and it was extremely disappointing. The carne asada came in a round container and was about 1/3 full. It should have been a kid's meal for the amount of food that was provided. read more
