Having brunch at Mico at the Grand Bohemian, we discovered the rooftop bar, Bohu Bar was finally open on a Sunday! Not a particularly warm day for the rooftop, but they have fire pits plus a indoor area with a bar too. Loved the decor, bold colors, great seating big spaces, we got seated in an area where there was no one so felt like our own private room. Beautiful chandeliers, great art work, great music, just a nice vibe. Inside was great. Our servers was great too, all staff had on masks, and you have to wear one too til your seated. Having just had brunch, we just wanted drinks. Got a nice bottle of Rosè, nice and dry and well chilled. Later we ordered a cheese board and a smoked paprika chicken flatbread. The board was good, basic cheeses, and a couple of meats and bread crisps and fig preserve. Loved the board it came on. The flatbread was really good , big chucks of chicken, nice paprika in sauce, and drizzle chili oil. Nice crispy crust too. Good food to go with the wine. When space opened up outside we had the server move us outside to the fire pit. Nice area huge pits, and nice couches, and hanging swing pods like things ! Really nice casual, yet nice space. Will be great in summertime. Since we were celebrating a birthday, our sever gave us a dessert in the house. Really good flourless chocolate cake. With ice cream. Was delicious, nice and rich . The best thing about Grand Bohemian being in uptown, is that it is literally only 5 minutes walking distance from my fiance's place. With that being said, I'll definitely be returning to Buho in the future. I visited Buho last Saturday evening for my fiance's early birthday celebration with a bunch of his friends. There were 6 of us to first arrive which was perfect because we were seated in the one of the booths which was spacious just for us. We ordered 1-2 rounds of drinks while at the booths. After being there for about 1.5 hours, we started to get hungry and asked the hostess if they'd be able to seat us at a table where we could order food. She gladly moved us to a table that was able to fit 8 people which worked in our favor because 3 other friends had shown up by this time (in total 9). The food was really tasty as well. The most shocking thing of this entire night were that the prices are almost like new york city prices, which is really crazy in my opinion, because Charlotte's bar scene is nothing like NYC. However, I still plan on returning in the future for a cocktail or two. read more

The elevator attendant needs to operate the elevator in order to access this place, and he's often not there-- so you have to wait 5+ minutes just to access the elevator. Also, it's relatively crowded. read more

I finally attended this rooftop. It's gorgeous. I will definitely have to do a reservation for a large group in the near future. The heating lamps are very generous and the outside seating and amazing. I like that there's security of patrolling the landscape. I didn't order anything special. I've been wanting to visit thisbhotel and bar for quite some time! I was excited when a friend invited me to her birthday gathering at Buho Bar. The hotel is located off of trafe street and there ia a public parking garage across the street. When you enter the hotel the ambiance is beautiful and definitely sets the tone for the evening. You have to check in with an attendant to either go upstairs or place your name on a waiting list to go upstairs to the rooftop bar. The process is to check in and wait to receive like a welcome text and then a second text is sent to alert you that you can come back to the attendant to check in. If you are not a guest at the hotel you are charged a $10 cover fee on a debit or credit card. Cash isnt an option here, sorry. The elevator attendant swipes his magic card and up you go. They really don't exercise a dress policy but no ball caps are allowed. Once upstairs you can be seated on the outside patio and view the city from 16 flights up. It's beyond beautiful and you definitely can forget that you are still located in Charlotte. I was with a party of 6 people. Our waiter's name was Monticio, he was quite attentive and lively. He danced a little and made sure that our experience was memorable. The menu is accessible by scanning the QR code. The food is kinda pricy which is expected at a boutique hotel, right? My date and I enjoyed drinks and a cheesy crab dip appetizer. The dip was amazing and made with lump crab me without a lot of breading. The chips were nice and crisp and didn't break apart when you went to scoop up the dip. The experience was five stars to say the least. If uou plan on going definitely ask for Monticio, because his personality was lively and he constantly comes to make sure that you're ok! read more

We had an extra 1.5 hours before our sitter was due to leave so after having dinner downstairs at Mico we decided to go up instead of our original plan of going to another bar. When the hostess downstairs sent us up she never informed us there's a charge to get in. Once we got up there they said bc there was a Latin Dj we had to pay $10/pp to get in, we had just spent $300 on dinner between 2 of us downstairs at Mico. Once we got in it took us a while to even get a drink. We barely were able to flag down/get the attention of a bartender to get 2 drinks in the little over an hour that we sat there. The drinks weren't anything special, basic what you could get at any bar. We should have should just stayed at Mico, the cocktails were amazing and there's no cover charge. read more

I'm so sad to have to write this review. My first time going, I had drinks and the street corn fries... so I came back a second time last night... disappointed. I wanted to have a lemonade (as I was contemplating if I was going to have a drink)... they didn't have any. We ordered several tapas, and they weren't impressive. The Brussels sprouts were very charred and burned, the flat bread we ordered was never brought to us (because the waitress brought us the wrong one)... she was gone for about 15 minutes before she came back and we informed her of the mistake. Overall the experience was disappointing, and I'm Not in a rush to return. The vibe of the place is of course always a hit, but I couldn't overlook the food disappointment. Búho is an excellent rooftop alternative in Uptown Charlotte! Our favorite dishes from this place were the lamb chops with a soy glaze and the fries and corn combo. Hoped to finish a big weekend at the Grand Bohemian with a few Saturday night drinks at Buho. Jamal - at the host stand - was TERRIFIC with helping me snag a table for me and my wife. When we arrived it took a very long time to even get a server to bring us a menu - but after waiting a long time again even to place an order, we decided to leave. The space is phenomenal and maybe we just hit them on a night they were short staffed, but we couldn't help but feel like my wife and I aren't the demographic that they're looking for...and therefore didn't get the kind of service that Jamal provided up-front. read more

The entire experience from the nice hostess who took down my name to the gentleman that escorted me to the elevator (made me feel like I was royalty) it was such a nice way to begin the evening. The view is breathtaking while sitting at the bar. And our bartender Shanna was so pleasant and wonderful. My husband and I decided to do a staycation down in Charlotte and booked dinner reservations at 5Church. To kill time beforehand we decided to make our own bar crawl and made a stop in at Búho. First - the Grand Bohemian is STUNNING and was surprisingly busy given COVID times. For Búho, there's an attendant in the lobby you check in with to get your name on the list. When ready, they get you in the elevator (which is no-touch inside) up to the 16th floor. Once you step out you are greeted by another attendant who take you to your seat(s). In our case, we sat at the bar, which has a few tall tables and a couple booths around it. There's also outside seating (but it was a bit cold). From our side of the bar we were still able to enjoy the view which is vast given that there's not a lot of tall buildings on that side of Uptown. Promptly after being seated we were waited on by one of several bartenders. My husband enjoyed a glass of bourbon from their list, granted they had several options that were not on the list (but we could see). I on the other hand enjoyed one of their many cocktails. Don't remember the name, but it was vodka, mint and berry something. Based on our first visit, we definitely want to go back soon to grab a pre- or post-dinner drink when we're in the Uptown area! read more

The purple one in the picture is La Vida Bohemia cocktail with butterfly pea, jalapeño, and tequila. The jalapeño flavor was a little strong for me, but the cheese plate was amazing. Búho Bar is located smack dab in the middle of Uptown Charlotte, offering both an eclectic, upscale indoor experience as well as a rooftop bar area with great views of Uptown Charlotte. Your experience will start downstairs where the host will take your name and number and text you once a table is ready. We got lucky and only waited two minutes. The bar is stylized like the hotel it sits in- eclectic, bohemian, fun. We were promptly seated, but ended up waiting a bit for service. I think the bar was just understaffed that evening. The drink menu is fun and somewhat whimsical while still being fairly traditional. Very fitting for an eclectic, bohemian bar in what is otherwise traditional, conservative NC. Unfortunately, the lighting did not allow for pictures. I tried the Blushing Búho while my fiancée tried the Búho. My drink was fairly light, but very flavorful. Somewhat fruity, but not sickly sweet. My fiancée's was refreshing. The cucumber was really nicely done! I then opted to try the Nectar Blossom Old Fashioned. It tasted like straight liquor. No flavor whatsoever. It was disappointing because I normally love a good Old Fashioned. While the drinks were good, Búho Bar missed the mark on ambiance. It seems like Búho Bar is trying to be an upscale bar, but that was sort of lost with the half dozen men walking around in shorts and t-shirts or the football game they had playing on a TV. Kudos to the bouncer who did ask one guy to remove his baseball cap. The prices scream "lounge", but everything else screams "sports bar". It was also disappointing how management opted to turn lights on 15 minutes before closing. That just screams "college sports bar", not "classy lounge". I'm happy that I tried Búho Bar and did enjoy the drinks, but feel like the ambiance could use some work. If that were done, Búho Bar would easily be a five-star bar! read more

Had a girl's night here to celebrate the end of the semester and what a fun time it was. First off this bar is located inside the Grand Bohemian hotel which was beautiful and luxurious the moment you walked in. The bar is in the 16th floor and we got to sit outside which had a gorgeous view of uptown. There was even a fire pit. We ordered a few things but my favorites were the crab fondido and flatbread. I loved the cheeses they used in the dip and they put a lot of crab inside as well. The flatbread didn't really have as much of a truffle flavor as I liked but the whole cloves of garlic confit made up for it. The potatoes were good but not a must try. I liked 2/3 drinks in the flight. The LIMLR was basically a margarita which was delicious. The waitress described the Hootie Hoo as a drinkable carrot cake and she wasn't lying, so good! The Coo Yah wasn't my favorite, I'm not much of a drinker so I don't think rum is my thing so others may like it. I also tried the Mystic Peak which was super instagramable because it had a bubble on the top. I'd recommend that one if you like elderflower. Overall I would recommend this place. Buho Bar inside of the Grand Bohemian, is just that Grand. Some of the hotel seems a little "over the top" for my personal taste but no doubt most of it is stunning. I have been twice now and both times the service was very professional and friendly, in every interaction with the staff. When you arrive, like I did via Valet, there is a stand with a host to tend to you. Reservations are not available for Buho, however, it is for the restaurant downstairs. Buho is up a few floors so if and when a table is ready, they have a staff member escort you to the elevator and on your way you go. When you get to the floor that Buho is situated on, its a lounge day dream. Its dimly lit, a mix of lounge area, booths and tables. There are many different sections inclusive of a beautiful outdoor patio which has two fire places. Coincidentally, both times I have been I have been sat the same lounge area which is behind a memorizing tall wall of wines encased in glass so you can see the collection from every angle. Behind that, is a view of the patio and to the other side is the main bar. No detail was overlooked, just about everywhere you turn. On to the fun stuff, aka the drinks. YES they are amazing too. I will add to what many are saying, the drinks are a bit pricey and no its not New York but I believe you pay for what you get. These are not your typical mixed drinks, for that, there are plenty of mediocre bars, not here though. I highly advise ordering their cocktail flight. You get three very decent size drinks to try. The choices are four, but you pick three of the four. Bohemian Sunset, Tierra del Fuego, LIMLR, Spanish Daydream. I have literally tried them all and I personally have to say, Bohemian Sunset was my least favorite but heck try it for yourself! Most of the drinks range from $14-$20 so the flight being $26 for three, is very reasonable and you get to try more than just one drink! In way of food, I tried the crab fondido and it was delicious. My friend ordered the lamb meatballs and said they were very good too. The service both times was on point. Very friendly, very attentive and very knowledgeable about every detail when it came to drinks and food. IF, i had to say anything about this place or the hotel in general is that the crowd is very different. I think its attracted a lot people from out of town, obviously, its a hotel. I didn't really pay attention when I first got in but when i was leaving, and waiting for my car, it was hard to miss. When I return, I would prefer to go on the earlier side perhaps pre dinner cocktail. read more

We came here for a nice night out. We ended up trying their cocktail sampler which is of their three most popular cocktails, each with a different liquor. Although they are on tap they are created each Wednesday so it is fresh. I highly recommend the sampler as well as the bar! It has a great ambience and you can still hear each other while enjoying your drinks. We were a smaller party so we're seated at the bar but even the bartenders were engaging and very friendly. She said the bar wasn't printing tickets, but it should have been her responsibility to check on that. The bouncer states I violate their dress policy because I'm wearing tennis shoes. I switch into more dress shoes only to find two guys (lighter complexion than me) wearing sneakers dirtier than my previous pair.
