They tell me it's problems and give me a estimate of $570 for its full repair. AC compressor plus a new serpentine belt and a few other things. Monday, July 7th is when they expect to have the car ready for pick up. I call them around 12:30 pm to see what the status of the car is, fingers crossed! The women I talked to gave me attitude and was unpleasant, she told me they had just received the parts and were going to start working on it in a little while. Tuesday, July 8th. I call back at 1:30 pm to check the status of the car again. Now she stumbles over her words and tells me that they got the car in yesterday, but the repairs were more complicated than they thought and it wasn't ready yet. I believe that she was lying and they hadn't actually got to my car on Monday. She told me she would call back later and actually got my phone number this time! No call from her on Tuesday. Before being dropped off at work, I drove by and checked that my car was actually in their garage and it was, thankfully! Wednesday, July 9th. A full week from the date I had my car towed. I have still received no call from them, how surprising! I call them up and my car is finally ready. It cost less than expected: $554 and there was only 2 hours of labor counted in my bill. $65 per hour. The last time I had a car fixed here, they actually lost our phone number and gave us a little discount because the car was there for a day longer than it needed to be. I won't be returning, I just don't like the front desk person, if she was more pleasant and was truthful there might be a different ending to this story.

The work is done quick, right the first time, & if there's a problem with your vehicle, or something that you need to watch out for / keep an eye on for changes in sound, or feel, then they will tell you about it straight up. I've never seen either Boomer or Emil raise their voice in anger at any customer, either on the phone or to their face. I've been going here since 2009, & my housemate's been a frequent customer since the mid-90's. They do vehicle inspections by the book, so if something isn't right, they will tell you about it, & usually point it out to you in person so that you can see what needs to be fixed. If you ask around Milton, you'll see that this is a decent garage to bring your vehicle to. Don't just go off off the one nay-sayer here on the reviews.

I love this town, and I know that things like this matter to our community. My brother brought my vehicle in to Tinker's Auto on 7/21/2020 for an oil change and state inspection. It was the first time I'd brought a vehicle to them, but knew they were a newer business and wanted to support my neighbors. For full transparency, my car didn't pass inspection. They didn't charge me for the inspection either (which was a pleasant surprise and I really appreciated)! So this review has nothing to do with that. One of the owners, Nickie Tinker, was at the front desk. There are bags of locally-sourced popcorn that customers can purchase. Another customer was at the desk talking to Nickie about this while my brother was waiting, and Nickie starts talking about how when she was a kid, they used to call the burnt popcorn kernels "niiiii---- heads". She didn't actually say the word, but turned to my brother and said "What were they called?" She was trying to get my brother to say it for her. My brother, not wanting to engage, said "I have no idea what you're talking about". Nickie then half-said the word again, and said something to the extent of "We're not supposed to say that any more." After my brother recounted the story to me, I posted on Facebook to (my friends only) asking for advice on how to handle this. Someone evidently told Nickie about my plan to publicize my brother's experience. She called me via FB messenger twice on Sunday (7/26) before 9am, and then wrote me a message (see screenshots). It is clear that she doesn't remember what she said that day. But she does recount how that while she is not a racist, she does condone racist conversation in her place of business. If you don't take issue with this sort of thing, by all means, give these people your money. But if you expect better from your neighbors, maybe choose to have your vehicle serviced elsewhere.

He always goes out of his way to make sure you are helped. If by some chance he is booked solid he will come right out & tell you. He won't keep you hanging on. He will also steer you in the right direction to another mechanic so you aren't waiting. I remember my grandfathers & dad used to tell me honesty goes a long way. That's Dwight 110 percent! It was a little longer then planned but that's because of the tool issue and finding two ball joints for my year. Either way they always have treated me right an are honest. That's the most important when having a car serviced. I'd rather know I need this an that instead of them just overlooking it for my pockets sake. I prefer safety over money anyway this is the 3 year they have worked on my cars and I recommend them to anyone who asks.
