Been coming here for years. This place has been a staple in the neighborhood and always my go-to spot for the best heroes and fresh meats. One of the last standing pork stores still doing it with best quality of foods and always with a smile. It's great to see a family business still thriving throughout the years. Don't miss out on the mozzarella carozza- any chicken hero (as much as I love chicken parm, the chicken with lettuce and American cheese, oil and vinegar is my favorite) They have daily specials such as steak wraps with onion and cheese and roast beef with mozzarella and gravy. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR INSTAGRAM!!! We drove from northern NJ to try these delicious looking sandwiches. Once there everyone was very nice and our orders were taken promptly. It took them about 25 minutes to make two sandwiches and heat up the grilled cheese (yes heat up in the microwave!). My order was sitting in watery oil I'm guessing from the pesto. The wrap was so soggy I couldn't finish it and they did not follow the order as they missed the avocado and added arugula? I asked for the exact same sandwich I saw on their IG yet I still had to tell them everything that was in it and they still managed to mess it up. My husband who eats anything and everything said he didn't think it was bad but def not worth the hype or the drive. My sister had the grilled cheese and she enjoyed it. I wish I had taken better pics but I was so upset I just wanted to throw it out. If you live close by then maybe it's worth it for the fresh cheese and meats but please don't assume this place is good for sandwiches as Instagram and Facebook make it to be because you will be let down. read more

This is a good quality pork store with friendly staff.  The pristine meat case is inviting as are the prepared foods.  I do wish the staff would take "health" concerns more seriously, though.  If an employee is sick, don't have them handling food for customers.  Yesterday, a customer returned to the store after an estimated hour with the sausage she purchased.  She opened the package on the counter and an employee was handling the meat with his bare hands.  The customer swapped the sausage for something else she desired and the employee put the returned sausage back in the case.  Would the Health Dept agree with this??  It had been in the customer's possession for an hour and then it was handled with bare hands.  Why would you deliberately put your customer's in harm's way?  You guys know better. read more

Don't buy things you can get at the supermarket here. The pre-made food items use to be good but less quality now. Eggplant Parmesan is sliced paper thin, mostly breading (an inexpensive filler) and grease. Wraps are lacking. Meats are good but Costco sells the same for less. Maybe just come here for the sausage - it is a specialty pork store after all. I don't think the meats are farm to table. read more

The Pork Store...the place to purchase meats, cheeses, prepared foods, homemade "gravy" or sauce, breads and of course anything else you could imagine in an Italian themed market. It has incredible fresh mozzarella, great deli meat and really good Chicken burgers. The staff are friendly, but when it gets busy you will need to fight to get served, since its a who can talk the loudest. This is my pork store and I really enjoy walking in and ordering a hero....having a hot out of the oven rice ball and picking up some meats to make dinner for the week. On Sundays they have homemade meat sauce and you can pre-order meats such as short ribs or Osso Bucco. Its like the old time butcher meets deli meets Italian specialty market. I only tried this place because of a promotion for Mercato food delivery service, but now I'm a big fan. I got a couple beautiful filet mignons, delicious pork spare ribs, and some hot pork sausage. I first heard about B&A through pictures on Instagram. I had seen so many delicious photos of their famous mozzarella sticks and paninis. But I was seriously disappointed when I went today to try out this place that I was very excited for. When ordering, I had asked for mozzarella sticks and I got some from a container where they seemed to be sitting all day. They were not warm and I was not given any sauce with them. They were terrible. My panini was made fresh which was not bad but not what I expected. Came here today with my boyfriend after seeing all their mouth watering posts on Instagram!! We were taken care of by the owner Frank (i'm assuming because he knew everyone that walked in he front door and was the only one who had a white jacket on) He was super friendly and nice to us and just let us know a little about the place. We ordered the Chicken Vodka Parmigiana Panini (all sandwiches can also be on rolls or heroes) and the ever classic Chicken Parmigiana Panini. We also got the Fried Mozzarella with their Marinara on top and the Potato Croquettes. All of it was amazingly delicious!! Going in there really feels like stepping back in time and being in my Nona's kitchen, it's like a mini Italian grocery store as well! The pasta, bottled sauces, fresh Italian sausages which looked amazing and tons of prepared food like zucchini parmigiana and eggplant parmigiana. You can immediately tell when you have a piece of meat and it's from here because the quality is unlike any other place in the neighborhood. I heard this place had great sandwiches, so I decided to give it a try. I asked for a corned beef and pastrami, they didn't have corned beef which was fine so I just got pastrami on a roll. What a huge disappointment. When I opened it, it was barely 5 slices of pastrami. It was such a poor excuse for a sandwich. I wasn't necessarily expecting a Katz pastrami sandwich, but I've had better at a corner convenience store deli. Won't ever be returning here again. read more
