Solid bagel shop in the UES! I got the turkey bacon, egg, and cheese on a whole wheat everything bagel. The bagels are on the chewier side, so I think it really comes down to personal preference. The everything bagel had a ton of seasoning and I appreciated that they had turkey bacon as an option since regular bacon is a little too much for me sometimes. The line moves quickly, but after paying for your food it gets a little chaotic waiting for the food and making sure you're picking up the right order since there isn't really a numbering system. Surprised this place has anything less than 5 stars. For me, this is the best bagel I have found in the UES. Far better than Bagelworks and H&H. PickABagel is the same price and gives double the filling on bagels (tuna salad on a bagel) so there's that. Nice taste though, good toast on the onion bagel. They were pretty generous with their cream cheese but wasn't an overwhelming amount. The ratio of bagel to cream cheese was also great and appropriate for me! Took a bite of my partner's wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese which was very solid too! They offer a pretty wide range of bagels and cream cheeses as well as other sandwiches and snacks. They limited seating inside but a good amount of outdoor seating. Our bagels took a little longer than expected but it was a busy morning on a weekend and the staff gave us a heads up/apologized. I've now come here a couple of times and I must say their bagels are always fluffy. So good that I picked up a dozen while in NYC to take back to my family in FL! The cream cheese spreads are a bit pricey but worth it. The coffee is very good too so that definitely helps. On my last visit, I met the owner and started talking Hebrew! Very nice! I highly recommend. Just one negative, in order to use the restroom, you must get the key from the counter. I guess they don't want people coming in to just use the restroom. This is not a kosher place, so when I ordered bacon on my sandwich on a Saturday you would think that's what I would get, but no, I get some rubbery turkey bacon. They don't tell you and it isn't on the menu, classic bait and switch con. If you have religious beliefs about pork that's fine but don't tell me it's kosher style on a Saturday to justify your deception. I came across B&B Bagels completely by chance. I was running late for an appointment so I couldn't go to H&H, which is my go-to in this area, but saw that there was a bagel joint with lots of people sitting outside. The inside was really bright and clean too, the staff were super nice and got to my order immediately. Usually, these are promising signs, but I was very disappointed by what I had received. I ordered a sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese ($6) and an iced coffee ($4.75), both of which were painfully average. The bagel was really dense and chewy, to the point where my jaw was getting tired from chewing and the coffee tasted watered down. Honestly, I would rate B&B two stars, but I will add another star because they are fast workers and I managed to get to my appointment on time. B&B Bagels is new to the Upper East Side. I decided to visit after seeing the reviews on Yelp. I saw there was more than just bagels. I wanted a Knish I saw in one of the Yelp photos. It's a little over two miles round trip from my apartment. I arrived about the time I usually eat my brunch. There was a long line but plenty of employees behind the counter working quickly. After I took photos I took a place at the end of the line. In no time I ordered after the nice employee came around to the outside of the counter so I could point to the Knish I wanted. It wasn't labeled as Spinach. I said I'd like it heated because I was staying. I also asked for a Pumpernickel Bagel to go. My total purchase was very reasonable at $8.95. The Knish wasn't as tasty as others I've had but it was huge and filling. When I returned home I sliced the bagel in half. It had a nice crunch outside and was very soft inside. I'm saving it and will review the bagel when I eat it! I'm still eating bagels I purchased a month ago. I'm torn between three and four stars. There was some glitch over heating my Knish. It was taking a very very long time. I was told it was accidentally given to someone else. I think they ended up microwaving a new one for a minute. The nice employee did bring it to my table when it was ready just as he said he would. I think this place is going to improve with time. It's obvious from the amount of customers coming in that it's going to be popular. There's outside seating too. I just convinced myself that Four Stars is a fair rating. read more

I had a sesame bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The strawberry cream cheese was not very good, tasted artificial. The biggest complaint from the customers sitting near me was simply that it is good, but over-priced. A few tables inside and several tables outside for customers to enjoy. Overall, giving them the benefit of the doubt as they do have solid bagels, just will need to work out some kinks as they just opened. read more
