    New Yorker Sandwich

Very affordable. Extensive menu to choose from. The place is mostly for to-go. There're few tables and chairs for dining in. Personally, I prefer the flavor of the savory sandwich compared to my blueberry.

So many choices. I loved mine. Salmon was amazing especially with egg salad. I agree that the bagels aren't the best I have had but better than what we have in NC. My husband had the spicy jack and son had spicy C2. It wasn't very spicy. He wasn't impressed. My husband said his was ok. I think they were just being crabby.

Great tasting chewy bagels, definitely on the larger side. Deli meat special was a disappointment, thin slices of average quality meat with a couple slices American cheese and mayo. Not much of a line on a weekday compared to the bagel spot across the street. No bathrooms FYI.

While doing some sightseeing in NYC, I was looking for a true delicious New York bagel and found Best Bagel & Coffee. They have so many options bagels, cream cheeses and bagel sandwiches. I went with the classic everything bagel toasted with lox cream cheese. The lox cream cheese wasnt too fishy, it was just plain cream cheese with chunks of lox. I was slightly worried it might be too much but it was the perfect amount of flavor, not overpowering. The location is right near Madison square garden and close to Times Square. It was really busy and they don't have many tables so I ended up getting my bagel and eating it in a park in the city.

Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese Sandwich w/ tots, salt pepper and ketchup

Do they love up to their name?! I'd say so! I ordered a Taylor ham, egg, cheese with tots & salt/pepper/ketchup on a tasted whole wheat everything bagel and did it hit the spot!! WOW best bagel sandwich I've had in a long time. I went super early on a Saturday morning and there were just a few people waiting for their food, no line yet at 7:15am but I can imagine it picks up later on on the weekends and even more so during the day. A friend who was visiting said it was packed with teens/young adults close to 9am on a Friday. Anyway, I ordered pickup from Grubhub just in case! It was ready on time and everything. I also had an almond milk cappuccino sweetened with honey and it was also delicious - so smooth. Ambience seemed pretty laid back with a few tables.

This spot is always amazing! I love the bagels and the cream cheese. Service is typically quick as well. One of my favs in the city

Ham, egg white and cheese onion bagel

What I ordered: ham, egg white and cheese onion bagel - it was good. They ran out of Asiago cheese bagels so I had to get onion Service: service was quick. Sure there's a line but the line moves fast because the order takers are not playing. You better be ready when it's your time to order and pay attention because they will keep yelling next customer if you are not there when the person in front of you is finish. Once you order there's a lot of people standing in a crowd waiting for their order; just stand with them and before you know if your order is ready. It's super quick. Ambiance: crowded and loud but in a good way

Every time we go this place is busy!! It is nothing fancy but that's okay because the bagels and smears are fantastic. Service is quick and efficient, very old school NYC! We took our orders to go but I believe they had some high top tables you can eat at.

Honestly, this place was very overwhelming. It was very crowded on a Friday morning, tons of people. You get in a huge line that looks like it's going to take forever and to be quite honest it moves very, very quickly. I mean so quickly you better know what you wanna order by the time you get to the front. But don't fret if not, they will just take the people behind you if they are ready first. It's very "New York style" to just kind of like they'll just take whoever is ready doesn't matter who's in the front of the line but you do feel more rushed in that aspect. It's kind of also just overwhelming because how extensive the menu is. The whole atmosphere is very go go go go go. I will say they get out bagels very quickly. Huge turnover for the amount of people they are serving. There is hardly any seating whatsoever. I would say maybe about four or five tables one being a standing only table. So you better be ready to take that bagel to go. The staff calling out for orders were yelling. It feels pretty aggressive in here but again, maybe that's just the New York style. For a quick bagel and a large variety this place is it. For tastiness though I feel like you could do better. I've been hear twice now and I love all the options and the pace to get a bagel but nothing blows me out of the water.

A friend told me I had to try this place while visiting NY, and it definitely lived up to the name of the spot (I even tried a few other bagels nearby to compare). Plenty of bagel option, including gluten-free, plus a wide variety of cream cheese flavors, sandwiches, and loaded bagels. I ordered The Jack Special on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, and it was flavorful and filling. Service was quick, even with a long line... just be ready with your order when you get to the counter. Limited seating inside and outside. Solid NYC bagel spot and will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town.

OMG!! Most definitely the best bagel I have ever had. The garlic bagel was perfectly toasted with a good amount of garlic that was not too over powering. The bacon honey sriracha cream cheese was perfectly toasted combo. It had a bit of sweet with a light kick at the end. Never tried anything like this before and I'm so glad I gave it a try. We went around 11AM and it was pretty packed inside but it went by quickly. We ordered and then paid at the next counter. We waited for our number to be called. It is impossible to find a table to eat so beware of that. Definitely will be coming back whenever I visit New York again.

    Atlantic Smoked Salmon Sandwich

Holy moly this sandwich was amazing. The lox was abundant, flavorful, the veggies crisp and fresh, and the scallion cream cheese perfect. The bagels were definitely hefty and I could only finish half. Having the other half for lunch was just as satisfying and delicious. If I hadn't had to try other places I'd totally would have come here again the next day. Loved it.

    Heather W.

I just really love this bagel place. Always fresh, speedy, thoughtful, and friendly-- cannot beat that! I even love their green jalapeno bagel (if that's what it is)-- just the right amount of flavor!

What local dishes are a must-try?

Don't miss the Lox and everything bagel with wasabi cream cheese.....missing that one right now!

Do they have gluten free bagels?

Anyone know what kind of coffee grounds they use for their iced coffee?

Are we able to get lunch sandwiches in the morning or are there designated breakfast and lunch hours?

    Anytime!

Do they ship out of state ? Hard to find a good bagel in Louisiana?

    They sadly don't ):

Now that the "Key to New York" program is no longer in place/enforced, is proof of vaccination still required?

Not when we were there in February :)

Does it already have a long line before it opens?

Do they have Gluten free bagels now in 2022?

What percentage of whole wheat flour is used in the whole wheat bagel? Asking for someone with dietary restrictions.

Do they carry gluten-free bagels in 2021?

We DO NOT serve gluten-free bagels at this time.

Do they have a sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich? I couldnt seem to find it on the menu, just bacon or plain egg and cheese.

Yes, they have options that aren't specifically on the menu but will make for you. My BF got their sausage egg n chs bagel.

    Any gluten free options?

Yes, they do have some gluten free bagels.

    Are their bagels eggless?

It's difficult to answer this question, since there could be many variations of the original Jewish bagel recipe some having eggs and others not. It's a matter of asking at the store.

We're looking for Rainbow Bagels. Will I find some here?

No. The website lists all the types they have. Try Liberty Bagels midtown or Bagel Boss or The Bagel Store

What are the ingredients in their gluten-free bagels?

We DO NOT carry gluten-free bagels at this time.

What's in the veggie tofu spread? Is it like a chive flavor?

Same veggies as the regular veggie spread. Just tofu based. Very smooth and creamy! Wonder if they use either a lot of oil or butter for the consistency

    Are there gluten free bagels?

There are two. Everything bagel GF and plain. There's a sign on the wall column. The website advertises them, too.

How busy is it usually around 9 a.m. on a weekday? Are there places to sit also?

Consistently busy. Limited seating but most people tend not to linger after finishing their food.

    Closes till friday?

Probably for the holiday of Rosh Hashanah

How busy would it be on a Friday morning around 10 am?

That's a very specific time frame you are asking about, Brooklyn! :) One weekday I was there around 7 and another weekday I was there closer to 9 am. The line was much longer (out of the door) at the later time. I would say that Friday at 10 am…

Anyways, the girls had bookmarked another bagel establishment but the line was hella long like they were giving away Knicks gear for free. Ironically another "bagel shop" search on Yelp showed PopUp Bagels was like three doors down lol. No line! That in itself was making me question but there is a PopUp in San Diego that my daughter swears by. PopUp advertised itself as "Not Famous, but known." Whether or not this bagel is better than the one store three doors up is something I cannot attest to. However I can say THIS WAS A DANG GOOD BAGEL! And it was freshly made! How do I know? It literally burned my fingers when I ripped it open! The pain was worth it. Outside, a slightly crisp texture generously coated with "Everything". Inside was a dense and chewy dough that was pliable but able to withstand the dipping and shmearing of cream cheese (which was smooth). Best I have ever had for sure but then again my most common bagel experience is the place named after a scientist where tons of bagels are sitting in bins for who knows how long. So why wasn't this a 5-star experience? One, I only ate one thing. Two, sevice and setting are "just there". Considering it wasn't busy I would expect a bit more of a welcome. To eat you're bagel you can full on just leave, sit at the three stools inside where it is super hot (bc hey they actually cook), or three stand outside. There is a little, I'll say "patio", where you can stand, eat, and true story, watch two people argue about who gets to sort through the recyclables from the neighborhood eateries. Snack and a show???? I just stood near the door and enjoyed my bagel.

Apollo Bagels specializes in their sourdough bagel and offers 3 variations (plain, sesame, or everything). They have a couple of bagel toppings to choose from, my favorite being the tomatoes, which add a nice refreshing taste balanced with a coating of olive oil and salt and pepper. I added a scallion cream cheese for $1 more and it was great. Heads up, they also have vegan cream cheese that you can sub for $1 more. Other than that, the salmon is good and the whitefish is a silent killer of a combo. The pickled cucumbers mixed with the saltiness of the salad were chef's kiss.
