No need to wait in a huge line for Best Bagel, Liberty Bagels, or Brooklyn Bagel.. Pio Bagel has a great variety of bagels and schmears to satisfy a sweet or savory tooth! Perfectly toasted on the outside, warm and chewy on the inside, and the correct ratio of bagel to cream cheese. I had a French toast bagel with mixed berry cream cheese, and an egg bagel with olive cream cheese. Yum!

The local New York bagel shop located right next to my hotel. So naturally, I had to check it out. I had a toasted sesame seed bagel with scallion lox cream cheese. They have one of the largest cream cheese cases I've ever seen! They even offer tofu cream cheese options. There's also a small case of some of your favorite deli cookies. And real fresh squeezed orange juice. Admittedly, they forgot about my order. But were apologetic and got it right out to me. There are a few seats, but somehow the flow works.

These are just perfectly delicious, fresh, puffy, chewy bagels! My faves are the blueberry and garlic/onion.

Happy to have found a reliable bagel shop near our hotel that also serves vegan friendly spreads for the plant-based eater in me. The first thing I wanted after landing in JFK was a bagel sammy so Pio Bagel West really delivered. I ordered a toasted everything bagel with avocado and their scallion tofu spread in the middle to put it all together. For about $12, I left with a massive, creamy bagel sandwich that took twice the amount of time for me to finish since it was so hearty. The bagels were toasted just right and the spreads hit the spot. I'm so glad they offer a veg option that isn't just hummus.

Did you know there are only like 4 bagel shops that bake their own bagels, everyone else buys them from those 4 places shocking news to me! Our amazing concierge pointed us to Pio as one of the few spots that bake their bagels and awe man these bagels were so good. Light but filling. Ok if you want a delight, try the French toast bagel with the Nutella cream cheese!!! Thank me later.

Had to grab some bagels on my last day in NYC. So walked to this place since the closest to ours hotel per my Yelp search. They weren't busy but it was a little later in the morning and it was rainy outside. Walked in and was able to place my order for 1/2 dozen bagels and a tub of cream cheese. Cost me around $19. They sliced for me also. I got salt bagels per recommendation from a colleague that raved about them being her fav when she lived there. The bagels were fresh and soft. Much thicker than bagels in FL. I thought that it tasted great although I had to scrap some of the salt off because that's ALOT of salt. Staff was friendly and service was fast. They do have a few tables to sit and eat also.

Amazing and fast service! Very clean, organized and quiet. The bagels are AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!

As a tourist, I was looking for a good bagel place and someone of the ones you see on IG or TikTok now are super crowded. It was nice to come here and see a fast line and we were able to snag a spot to eat when we got our food. I ordered a bacon, egg, & cheese on an everything bagel. They had lots of cream cheese selection - I'd be here constantly trying all of them if I lived here. Our food was called out by number when it was done and it was super tasty!! I like that the bacon was crumbly and crispy.

Options galore! With 20+ types of bagels and 15+ types of cream cheese, there's something for everyone here. Hit a midmorning Saturday rush, but only took about 5 minutes to get my bagel sandwich and coffee. I got a Supreme with Sundried Tomato Cream Cheese on a toasted Everything Bagel. Bagel was lightly toasted. Thought the cucumbers were a nice touch - don't normally add those to my bagels. Tasty and hit the spot.

Sesame Bagel with Lox/Scallion Cream Cheese. Plus some great orange juice and coffee.

Great, quick bagel spot in Midtown. Bagels were delicious & hot, and their cream cheese spreads (lox/scallion and sundried tomato) tasted fresh. The coffee tasted great too as well as their freshly squeezed orange juice! The line moved quickly too, and there was plentiful seating/standing area throughout with people coming in and out pretty regularly. The staff regularly kept the store clean too. Definitely come to Pio Bagel West if you are looking for a quick bite, NY bagel breakfast!

The bagels were pretty doughy if you are into that style. I also got the lox spread and they charged me $9 for it. Was it good yes. Was it worth almost $10. No.

Ordered the low-gluten bagel with regular cream cheese, wheat bagel with blueberry, pio bagel (baked potato) with jalapeño, pio bagel with roasted garlic cream cheese, and a chocolate chip muffin. You come into the restaurant and you can see all the bagel options and pick one, then pick the cream cheese which you can also see their (very large) selection, and then pay. It took about 8ish or so minutes to get the food, we came in around 9am and was a little busy. It's a cute, quaint little bagel shop that's like a hole-in-the-wall place. I had given it four stars because they tasted really good, but didn't realize that the bagels would be toasted (without being asked), so then they got too greasy. If they hadn't been toasted, it'd easily be a 4-star place.

I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want other people to find this spot. I've tried numerous, well-known bagel shops in NYC over this years and decided to give Pio a try because it was near our hotel on a rainy Sunday morning. It did not disappoint. They have a good size space and, while there were others there, it wasn't terribly crowded. The bagels have a nice crunch on the outside and chew on the inside. In fact, this is probably my favorite bagel shop now. I got their signature sandwich (I forget the exact name) on an everything egg bagel. It was SO GOOD. I highly recommend giving Pio a try. Or don't and keep the line short for the next time I'm in town. House Signature House Signature

Your typical NY bagel deli experience. Not too long of a line/wait. Lots of bagel and schmear options. Was close to our hotel.

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.

You cannot order a single bagel, you must order your bagels in 3s. So if you're not a big back and instead are a loser with no friends, you might have more bagels than you can eat. The bagels come whole and you're supposed to rip them and dip them into the cream cheese, and there's many smears to choose from, which is a plus. However, this requires a two hand situation, which means it's difficult to eat on the go, and the seating inside is limited. I did not realize this at first and I was trying to slice my bagel in half with a butter knife, and I failed and started ripping it to shreds in a fit of passion and rage. That when I saw their neon sign that says "GRIP. RIP. DIP," which sounds sexual, and realized that's the concept and intention. My advice--if you're gonna visit, come with a couple friends so you can try the bagels without having to eat 3. And bring hand sanitizer so you're not ripping up the bagel with your filthy subway fingers.
