Where do I even begin with BB Couture? This place is a disaster from start to finish. I was lured in by their pretty dresses, but what I got was a nightmare. Blair, the owner, is not just unhelpful; she's downright rude and dismissive. It's clear that she has no respect or care for her customers. My order was delayed for weeks, and never received the dress. Then Blair the owner ghosted Ruined my daughters sweet 16 I've never encountered such blatant disregard for customers. If you're thinking about shopping here, do yourself a favor and run the other way. BB Couture is a prime example of how not to run a business, and I can't believe they're still in operation. I have been attempting to contact this location for over two weeks, leaving multiple messages without receiving a response since I was in the area and their website indicated that they were open. I visited in person however, upon arrival, I noticed that the elevator service only the first floor and no one responding to the bell in the lobby, however shortly after leaving I receive the text message that an appointment is required, which was an unexpected given the fact that I have been calling and leaving multiple messages along with my callback number and purpose of my visit. I am disappointed with the experience and would have appreciated the opportunity to view the collection as a result I will be exploring the other options. Had a good experience a few yrs ago so went back, but this time was different. Dresses were plentiful and fancy, sales person was attentive. The difference was, I felt uncomfortable with a policy requiring me to buy off the rack when those dresses were floor samples, and many were unwearable (ripped, makeup stained and most importantly not my size/style). Went there specifically to order direct from designer via this retailer, young lady said they could not although I emailed in advance with this request and style. Hopefully they change back to previous policy as designer listed this shop as one to buy and order from. read more

I went a few days before Thanksgiving to look for a red wedding dress, which is REALLY hard to find one that's spectacular since red dresses aren't typically for weddings. I'd been to a dozen stores, including other couture boutiques in NYC and I couldn't find a dress that matched the bright red color I wanted (per Chinese tradition) that was spectacular enough and came with a trail. I walked in without an appointment (appointments are recommended, luckily I happened to be the only one there at that time) and Eva, I believe her name was, showed me all options of bright red dresses in my size. She helped me clamp each dress to show me how the dress would fit once altered. I didn't believe I'd want a mermaid dress but I was proven wrong! STAY AWAY unless you want the risk of being yelled and cursed at. The short of it: my almost 70 year old mother and I were called "nasty ass people" and told to "get the fuck out" after a bad experience at the store. In what world is that appropriate behavior to speak to any human being? Horrified at the vulgarity and lack of class of the management here, especially with a senior citizen. The long of it: I made an appointment here to look for a wedding reception dress (which I told the manager is what I was looking for when making an appointment the day before). Their website shows that most dresses come in a variety of colors and sizes so I figured I'd be able to try on a few dresses even if they didn't have the exact color and size I needed and they could order the size/color I needed. When I got there I was told no, they weren't willing to put in any orders since it was prom season and I was limited to what was available off the rack. Off the rack they only had 1 white dress in my size. When I pointed this out to the girl helping me I got a shrug in response so I asked to speak to the manager to see if he'd be willing to make an exception regarding ordering given he knew I was coming in to look for reception dresses and I'd just spoken to him the day before. When he came to speak to me he had a couldn't care less attitude, kept cutting me off when I tried to speak and explain why I was upset at the situation , and when I tried to say that they had an extremely limited selection of white dresses in my size (1 dress) and ask why he didn't tell me this when I scheduled my appointment with him, was when he once again cut me off, said I insulted his store, and that I was a nasty ass person (or rather called me and my almost 70 year old mother nasty ass people) and told us to get the fuck out. read more

Hi, I wanted to make management aware of an issue I had on Saturday at your shop. To start off, I am a 5'6" 120 pound girl. I walked into your shop and approached a sales person (tall black man, wearing a tan suede hat), and asked if I could try on some dresses for an upcoming wedding. Immediately he said "UMMMM 6-8 RIGHT?" I was confused and said excuse me? and he said your size, you're a 6-8? and I said um no. i'm typically a 2-4. then your employee had the audacity to reach out, invade my personal space, push my coat back/open so he could accurately see my waist and said "no honey, you're a 6-8" OK - I'm already extremely uncomfortable and feeling insecure and targeted. Then he started pulling dresses and I found the dress I wanted and asked if he could take it down so that I could see it and she said 'um sweetie, thats a 0' and i said ok, I want to see it. and he said umm... it wont fit you. and i said OK, I still want to see it. and he said "ok I can let you hold it but really really cannot let you try it on because I can't risk you STRETCHING IT OUT" excuse me? i've been in many bridal shops. if a dress doesn't hit, you don't zip it. you can still get an idea of how it looks. Again, I typically wear 2s, so its not THAT small. never in my whole life have i felt so targeted and so FAT than in the presence of this man. You simply CANNOT speak to people in this tone. how dare he?! there are so many better ways to speak to people especially as a sales person. I immediately walked out. For next steps, I hope to hear from someone to discuss the issue. I also assume you do not want to be responsible for my therapy bills that will come as a result of this interaction, so I encourage you to train your employees so they do not speak to ANY woman in this tone every again. Stores like yours should lift people up and make them feel beautiful but from the moment I stepped in yours, I felt fat, ugly and targeted. I will take this down if and when I hear from the shop on how they plan to right this wrong. read more

Had an absolutely great experience at B&B Couture! We had gone to a few other stores and always left disappointed. We found this place unexpectedly and it was amazing. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and they were key in finding the perfect dress! The variety is diverse and current. The prices are fair and have great range. My only negative thing to say about it was make sure you are aware that if you get a plastic garment bag ( similar to what is given complimentary in most stores) they will add $25. I would have taken just a regular bag since we still neeed alterations and the dress needs to be steam cleaned. But, overall it was a good experience. read more

This shop is totally ridiculous with its restriction of people under 21 has to be accompanied by a guardian. This is called age discrimination. I've spent a lot of time (and money) shopping for gowns both online and in-store at gown shops and high-end department stores all over the country. I can say definitively that B&B has, hands down, the best and most diverse selection of designers I've seen in over a decade of searching for "the perfect gown" every few months. Sure, they carry the tried and true staples for prom, pageant, wedding party/guest (your Sherri Hill, Jovani, Terani, etc.), but what I love most is how the owners go above and beyond to find the best, sometimes even obscure, designers from around the world to complement the very popular Amerocan brands they already carry. You know those unreal-glamorous dream gowns that keep popping up in your Instagram explore feed that you absolutely MUST have, only for you to discover they're by a designer selling out of a tiny showroom on the other side of the planet? So you screenshot the post and follow the account just in case you happen to end up in Kosovo or Albania or Istanbul sometime in the near future and you decide to stop by to treat yourself to something nice, right? Well, B&B has those designers, and are often their sole US distributor, so when I say the selection is like nowhere else, I mean that! Beyond the killer gowns, Blair and Bessa both have great eyes for design and know how to dress a woman in what works best for her body. Plus, they're both just total dolls! I've been going to B&B Couture for three years now. Years ago, I was desperate to find a one-of-a-kind dress and a stylist in New York told me the one place I had to go. We are from Washington DC but once we discovered B&B Couture, every time we need a special occasion dress, we now travel to Chelsea (NYC). We found the perfect Bat Mitzvah dress for my daughter here when she was 13. We've been fortunate enough to work with the owner Blair or his cousin Bessa. We call ahead, tell them what we are looking for and then arrive and just follow their lead. They always know what will look good on Lexy, they know what's trendy, they know what to wear if you want to stand out or just look beautiful and blend in. It's a beautiful boutique with the most gorgeous gowns. But what's absolutely irreplaceable is the experience they have in this industry and the incredible customer service. The owner, Blair, stayed opened an hour after closing, determined to find me a dress. I left with the most beautiful and comfortable green gown. To date, still my favorite. Having such a great experience, I now go no where else for any dresses, semi-formal or formal. I feel like I have a personal stylist. Blair makes me try on dresses I never would look twice at on the rack. Somehow I always end up loving his recommendations!
