I just got home from the LA pop up - what an awesome experience! Lauren was my stylist and she was amazing! She pulled some beautiful pieces for me and worked with me to figure out a look. It was really nice to have a professional tell me what work best for me and then give me things to wear that actually look right on my shape. I cannot think her enough! I ordered a beautiful pair of black Foster pants. They are so comfy and versatile thanks to the crop option. I can't wait to get them. Lauren put it the other pieces I'm thinking about in my wish list so I can order them later (like the Dietritch Jacket - that's an absolute must!). This was such a great experience, I'm really happy I visited the LA pop up and spent time trying on such a nice clothes. Thank you Lauren for your patience and style advice! The staff was nice in person but a bit rude and unwilling to help after I made my purchase and ran into an issue. Many of the items were missing buttons and they don't come with replacements. The store is quite small and has limited inventory, as well. If anything, it may be worth going in to confirm your sizing, but I'd rather shop at another boutique or online. I ended up having to go through corporate for a resolution for an item that ripped right after I bought it, after this boutique never returned my calls and was unhelpful and curt over the phone when I finally reached them. The experience and quality is H&M, but the pricing is at a premium. While I'll probably buy from MM la fleur again, it won't be at this boutique, which is a shame because it's the closest to my home and work. read more

I had a work trip run expectedly long and desperately needed some things to wear, without having time to go to a physical store. MM Lafleur's stuff is overpriced and basic, but I can count on it to fit me well. I ordered $2K of stuff and paid extra for expedited shipping. I just wanted a simple solution and was willing to pay $ for it. Fedex then refused to deliver to my address because I had forgotten the unit number. After waiting 45 minutes on hold with them, I confirmed my name , contact info and the order number, and called from the phone number on the package, but they refused to deliver. (I gave them the correct unit number, or gave them the option of leaving it inside of a locked gate at that address they had access to, but they refused). I contacted MM Lafleur via email hoping they could make it right, but they basically shrugged their shoulders and said 'we've processed your refund, you should have your money back in 7-10 days.' They claimed that Fedex said I refused the package, which couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm going to be working all weekend and don't have the time to go on a shopping trip. I would happily go to a Fedex location to pick it up, happily arrange to be outside the front address when it's delivered. Insult to injury, they said -- 'please update your address so this doesn't happen with future orders.' Sometimes people make mistakes with addresses, I've never had a Company refuse to contact the carrier to make an update. Just laziness with a side of "not my problem" attitude. It didn't seem like MM's customer service bothered to read my email and wasn't interested in engaging. (Maybe they're using AI instead of employees, who knows). Maybe their reps are paid based on how quickly they "resolve" cases. I know I shouldn't be shocked by crappy customer service, but I've had better experiences with Spirit Airlines. I discovered MM Lafleur through a pop up ad that appeared on my social media news feed where the clothing looked interesting and was geared towards working professionals. I looked up some reviews for MM Lafleur & their bento boxes but felt that a showroom experience would be best for me. I was going to NYC in January for a wedding & made an appointment with a stylist at MM Lafleur. You can make an appointment online or via phone & I opted to call. They will ask you for the size that you normally wear in Theory, Ann Taylor or Banana Republic as a size reference & any color and style preferences such as v neck vs. square neck line. I was excited to visit their showroom in Soho & was met by a friendly receptionist who introduced me to my super helpful stylist. I tried on a bunch of dresses, some tops and skirts and ended up buying 7 dresses, 5 skirts, three blouses & a pair of long pants (that don't need to be hemmed!) after 2 hours in the showroom which flew by quickly. Their clothing is very high quality and in classic colors and timeless silhouettes that will last a long time if you care for your clothing properly. Many pieces (normally the blouses & unlined dresses) are machine washable but I would use a gentle or hand wash cycle and a mild detergent like Woolite. I wore several dresses at work and have received many compliments. I will be visiting the showroom during my next visit to pick up some new pieces. read more

My dream: to look like a funky cool high powered professional woman who runs miles, lifts hundreds of pounds and of course, seals deals all by noon. So, basically like I just stepped off of the MM.LaFleur runway. My reality: looking like I spend hours in front of my laptop, in "my office" (bed, sometimes the couch if I'm feeling adventurous). People. I am often wearing pajamas all day. Or, workout clothes when I finally get to the gym in the late afternoon. In case you haven't guessed, I work from home and often only leave the house to go to the gym. I rule. That said, I do travel often to various cities and I can't exactly wear yoga pants to work events. MM.LaFleur to the rescue. These are professional clothes that are well-made (in NYC, no child labor in a third world sweatshop), travel well, and have you looking like a million bucks whether that be at a morning presentation in front of 100 people or at an afterwork HH with a small group of colleagues. A newspaper article prompted my interest in MM.Lafleur and the NY location did not disappoint. The questionnaire was quick and painless and my visit lasted exactly an hour. The only odd thing is that when I arrived, the stylist had selected clothes that were larger than what I had indicated (6 or 8 in Ann Taylor dresses). After trying on one dress, she quickly whisked away the dresses and brought out the correct sizes. Being short (5'3), not all the clothes worked for me, but a lot did. Tailored and sheath styles were better than the more drapy styles. The Sant Ambroeus jacket was a winner, as was the Etsuko dress (my tailor shortened it by 2 inches), the Aditi 2.0 dress (no hemming needed), the Alex dress (hemming needed), the Katie dress (hemming needed), the Greenpoint skirt (hemming needed), and the Foster pant (haven't yet worn). Very happy with how the Etsuko dresses wore throughout the day. The Katie is a heavier ponte fabric which gave me a slightly boxy silhouette, but worked great with the Saint Ambroeus jacket. Wore the Alex today and also very happy with it. The Taylor dress didn't work, much to my surprise. Thus far I am thrilled with my purchases and have cleaned out my closet to make more space for MM.LaFleur. My recommendation: try on lots of different styles, it's sometimes hard to tell what's going to work. Most of the blouses were too long and/or boxy on me. read more

Fabulous, well made, comfortable, quality work wear. I have been on a MM kick for quite a few months now. I'm all about subscription boxes; when I heard that they offered a 'bento box' specific to your shape and what your looking for, I had to sign up. 5 jackets, 3 skirts, 7 dresses and 4 tops later, I'm hooked. I can't tell you how easy getting ready has become especially on days that I'm running behind and I don't have time to think about what to wear and how to match it. The quality of the clothing is amazing. They use the finest materials (some of which are machine washable) creating pieces that are stylish and comfortable. It's like Brooks Brothers meets Hugo Boss AND Lululemon - sophisticated and classy, yet still sexy workwear that's comfortable enough to do your most complicated yoga pose in. The customer service is also wonderful. Casey has helped me with all of my bento boxes/ orders. I can easily email her when I see something online that I like and she sends it right away. For bento boxes, she incorporates my feedback from past orders and sends new new pieces that she thinks I might like based on my style preference. One thing, I am tall and sometimes dresses with pockets look odd on me. I wish pockets came stitched with the option to cut open. For now, I am just having my tailor take care of it, no big deal. Now that I've discovered M.M. LaFleur, I may never shop anywhere else! The pieces in this line are deceptively simple and beautifully executed with attention to detail in high-quality fabrics. Each piece is made in the Garment District in New York, and the high level of quality control shows in these fashionable yet wearable clothes. I loved nearly everything I saw, from flouncy A-lines with cap sleeves to sheaths and skirts. I was interested in the line from seeing it online; however, it is even more impressive in person and the customer service can't be beat. I used the website to make an appointment with sales lead Hanna, who was thoughtful about why I was shopping (professional clothes for work) and about what sizes and styles would make me look great. It's amazing to me that for roughly the same price as shopping at J Crew, I could have such individualized service and pieces selected to suit my style. Despite the fact that Hanna was essentially serving as my personal shopper, I felt very little pressure to buy -- she really seemed happy to take the time to get me familiar with the clothes and she even sent me a list of what I had tried on for future reference. You don't have to have an appointment; the workshop is open during business hours for walk-ins, though I had such a great appointment that I'd do it again in a heartbeat. They also offer a pretty great online program for non-local customers like me, sending you a box of clothes styled for you free of charge (you can return any or all of it). High quality clothing, work style with easing, with an extra large price tag.... I randomly and luckily heard about MM.LaFleur just in time for their Dallas popup. I am not a person who considered herself fashionable and I really don't like to shop either. Most of my work outfits I purchase the identical items to a mannequin in a store because otherwise I can't figure out how things go together. A new job in a more corporate office means that I need new, extra-corporate looking clothes. When I checked out MM.LaFleur on their website, what spoke to me was classic no-fuss styles, quality (i.e. I won't have to shop for a while), and "Easy to care for and travel-friendly" - the travel-friendly is often especially hard to find. Finally, I loved that many, if not all, of the pieces really easily transition into evening attire. Because I often have dinner meetings this is really helpful. So I booked an appointment and met with Hanna at the pop up. Hanna was genuinely sweet and listened to my needs about my office attire. She had a rack pre-set with items in my size. Dresses are not typically worn in my office, so originally I asked to focus on separates. Unfortunately, pants aren't really the forte of this company - they focus a lot more on dresses and pants. I really disliked the first outfit that was picked out, but everything after that was dresses and skirts. I loved most of everything I tried on. My favorite pieces they offer are the jardigans - a combo jacket/cardigan. It's a great alternative to the men's sportscoat or blazer. The jardigans have clean lines and look polished, but are made of a stretchy material. The quality of the clothing was great, and I grew to love the idea of building a capsule wardrobe off of the pieces from this company. I spent way, way more money than I had planned........over $1500 (!) on nine pieces of clothing and one accessory. The bill really hurts, but time will tell if it was worth it in how the garments hold up and if I continue to love them season over season. As far as the pop-up goes, I wish I had thought ahead and brought a set of heels that I might wear to the office (I was wearing flats). They had some there, but I didn't like the color or style, and I actually felt like it made the outfits look worse when I put them on! I also wish they had all varieties of colors available - even if not in all sizes - so you could at least get a feel for the color combination. I ordered an item in a color I haven't seen yet, and I am hoping I don't have to return it! Finally - many people agreed that some of the modeled images for the clothes on the website don't do a great job of showing the dress. One example is the famous Tory dress: one image shows a model covering half the dress holding a dog. In the other image the dress falls flat on the model. When I tried this dress on, it looks totally different than in either image. Maybe they could use some plus-size models! On a positive note, I have been paired with a stylist in their home office and I have been told that the numerous items on my rack that I didn't purchase (already regretting not buying the beautiful teal-colored Annie dress!). I was very excited about MM.LaFleur. The colors were perfect, the styles work-appropriate, but not dowdy and the size range worked for me. I was unhappy to learn that my Sarah dress in Viridian would require me to purchase a steamer, but I did and moved on. I figured that, since I planned to be a repeat customer, I'd use the steamer on other new dresses that I was looking forward to buying. Not anymore. The Sarah dress, which I had loved and washed carefully according to directions, and then bought a steamer for, has shrunk. It is tight across the chest and a full two inches shorter. Clearly, the label should read "dry clean only." The dress that was supposed to be a great dress for presentations is now shoved in the back of my closet after one wear. Any decent clothing retailer would take this dress back and apologize. read more

I've been a loyal fan for nearly 3 years! I first stumbled upon MMlafleur on Facebook three years ago and now own at least six different pieces from them. I am in the slow but steady process of replacing everything workwear in my wardrobe with MM pieces. In every big presentation, interview, important meeting the past 3 years, I've worn MM. Yes, these pieces are truly the armor for the boardroom. I instantly feel more badass whenever I'm wearing them! Of course, not every piece fit me perfectly. Shut up and take my money. This company feels like it was invented for me. I dislike shopping. Perhaps even outright hate it. But I love dressing stylishly -- and a good bargain -- so I spend countless hours circling the local Nordstrom's Rack leaving only with frustration. Never thought I'd try a "stylist" or an expensive "pop-up" shop. Somehow MM.LaFleur manages to nail the level of formality I need for work and make the shopping process painless. And they actually make quality clothes I like. The "jardigan" is a regular staple in my wardrobe and the cost per wear of the items I've bought is better than any other clothing I own. It's such a cult item that I've had other women approach me at bars and ask if I'm wearing a jardigan. It's like a secret code for kick a$$ high-performing women. The "pop-up" shop concept sold me on the process. I literally sat on my a$$ with my best friend, sipping prosecco, and trying on 20+ items of clothing specially picked to fit my petite size and style preferences. Plus it was all designer quality, so I can look good and not waste precious time. They didn't try to force me into buying anything I didn't want or need. For the Washington, D.C. popup at The Jefferson Hotel: Went to this after my friend raved about her dress purchase from the Bento Box. I was the last appointment of that Saturday and the lovely intern Kathy powered through, helping me find several items that I wouldn't normally try on in a store and changing gears when I voiced a preference for a certain cut or color. The Clothing: - many dresses were machine-washable - everything was well-structured, fantastic quality - items were perfect for a polished work environment, no need to worry about low necklines or ill-fitting pencil skirts The Experience: - easy parking nearby and recognizable location - offered mimosas right when I stepped into the swanky suite - led to a corner to change behind a divider, kind of cramped and wished there was a small bench and better lighting- or that I had been directed to the unoccupied bathroom Overall pleased with my experience (especially after having come from a less than stellar Modcloth popup that morning) and I splurged on the versatile Blixon top and Soho skirt. So disappointing. Came to revamp my wardrobe, and I really wanted it to work. First of all my stylist had no personality and her only function was to bring clothes. I thought she'd engage with me much more. She didn't offer advice or anything. Also the clothes are designed for people who prefer matronly cuts... I'm pretty petite and almost everything was a little loose and way too long. The necklines were also really ugly, and the fabric quality did not seem very good considering the price. I checked out MM La Fleur after hearing about it on a podcast called the Broad Experience. I was lucky to find that they were having a pop up shopping event near my work in LA, so it was a perfect chance for me to try on their clothes in person. I'm very pleased with my experience and the working efforts by my stylist, Navy. Navy was spot on about my fit on many items. Very few things that were picked out were not for me, and she found few alternatives that I may like, which is much appreciated. Before the pop up, I ordered a bento box (just to try it out). Then I placed a regular order after the pop up. I'm looking forward to receiving both. The only thing that I wish is that they offer promotions, especially on their Last Call section where they still list regular prices. (I haven't been to their showroom yet - so this review is just for their online business) I've been a customer since MM.LaFleur's earlier/start-up days, when the collection was minimal and limited to just a few pieces. They really do offer beautiful items and I've gotten lots of compliments from co-workers. I'm impressed at how quickly they've grown and wish them continued success. Having read an article about the Tory dress, I was intrigued and decided to try not that particular dress (since they were sold out of it at the time anyway) but the Bento Box instead. I really liked most of what they chose for me and wound-up keeping/purchasing a lot of the pieces. There were a few I was not fond of, but obviously I returned those and there was never any pressure to buy any of the items. The boxes themselves were packaged nicely, with a comment card for what you wanted to keep or return, a small garment bag, etc. Pros: - Quality of most everything I've purchased so far is very good - Style is very classy and simple but elegant and tres chic - Variety has grown rapidly over the past year or so - *Customer service is excellent Cons: - Prices are not cheap (some of them are worth it - but some of the more simple pieces, like their basic tops, I find the prices can be a bit high) - Unfortunately, I have had at least 2 pieces come undone on me, stitching on back slit of a dress and back stitch on back of a pair of pants - my fault here was I did not let Customer Service know, but this was because I have a crafty Mom who was able to fix it for me quickly so I wasn't too inconvenienced by it. *Why I give extra props to their Customer Service department: 1 of the dresses I ordered came with deodorant marks on it and the zipper was down (so obviously it was a dress a customer tried on then returned, but whoever handled the returns did not inspect the item correctly) - but Customer Service came to the rescue and immediately sent me an apology as well as a credit to allow for dry cleaning - I really appreciated this and was happy with the response. read more

I shopped at a pop-up store in San Francisco in 06-17. The staff was very welcoming and on-time. However, the fitting rooms looked improvised without a bench to put my bag or my clothes. My stylist was more of a sales assistant. She brought items and had some picked for me but did not have any valuable info in terms of recommendations. I agree with some other customers about some indelicate comments like "you are just short". But my real problem is the product. I tried the Rowling top and one of the lateral seams was not straight, which the stylist and I concluded was a defect from manufacturing. I ordered it after she assured me it was going to be corrected, but it actually arrived with the same defect. I also ordered the Sant Ambroeus Jardigan and it looked amazing in the store, but the one I got had threads out so I concluded the material would not last much, it is Dry Clean Only, and the knitting was MADE IN CHINA. I don't mind where things are manufactured if the price reflects that, which was not the case, so I ended up returning this piece too. I am giving 3 stars because there are elements of design that work very well for the busy woman, and the service for refund was good, and always a very responsive team. I love MM.LaFleur! My friend introduced me this fabulous clothing line this past September, and I couldn't be happier. I live in Chicago, so I have to wait for their pop up shops to come to town, but that's ok. Everyone is super friendly, and helpful. I sadly don't remember the names of the ladies who helped me, and I wish I did so I could recommend them to others, or at least let management know they rocked! But let's get down to the important stuff...the clothing itself. I'll start with price. I'll be honest it is not cheap. And I mean that in terms of the price and the quality. The average dress is about $200. When I first saw the pricing I about choked. But my friend that introduced me to MM.LaFleur, said it would fit me, make me look amazing and last forever. She was right. I've never felt so beautiful and empowering in a dress before. I've also never had so many compliments before either. It's been about 7 months since I bought my first 2 dresses and they look like new. Quality: I think I've covered that under pricing. But in case there was any confusion...I'll elaborate. The quality is amazing. I am used to buying a few dresses each year, that I would have to replace before a year had passed, and/or keep wearing knowing they were falling apart. The fact that I can machine wash most of their stuff, and it still looks like new after 7 months of use has me coming back. Most of the garments were very well-tailored and would fulfill the promise for ease of wear and care. I was disappointed by the inconsistency of sizes. I ranged three sizes for dresses as well as for trousers. For a company that requires only on-line purchases, sizing should be consistent across the board. The fabric quality on everything I got was SO cheap, super disappointing given the price range! I've honestly found better shopping at Nordstrom Rack or Calvin Klein dresses at Ross Dress For Less. The stuff was weird fitting too, most of the items were both too loose and too tight in different areas. The only good thing from this experience was that I didn't pay for the Bento Box and it's free shipping to send everything back. I am a fan of most of the clothing. The styles are great staple pieces for work. And I love that many of the pieces are machine washable. Great customer services. I had some issues with a piece I bought and they resolved it, even after I had already worn the item. A little expensive, and I wish they wouldn't sell out as often as they do. After creating an account and sitting on it for several months, I started building a wish list based on my personal preferences. I was unsure on how a certain top would look on me so I reached out to one of their stylists to find out. Audrey hunted down someone with my exact measurements and had her try on the top on both sizes I was considering - we had ourselves a winner! Finally, I bit the bullet and ordered a Bento box. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about spending so much on work clothing, or if the clothing would even be worth it but I figured I'd give it a shot. I gave very specific instructions on what I wanted to see in the box (dark colors, comfortable clothing, machine washable when possible etc) and what I didn't (jewelry). I advise booking an appointment with a girlfriend and going together. That's what we did. A glass of Prosecco each and an hour later we both had elegant, timeless pieces that we'll have in our wardrobe for decades. What MM LaFleur creates are perfectly tailored, comfortable timeless silhouettes that are canvases for belts, jewelry, scarves and anything else that gives it your own, personal flourish. I wear their dresses with combat boots and patterned tights. My friend, who is more conservative, stays with skinny belts and pumps. The same dress DOES NOT look the same on anyone. They create silhouette magic. My friend is a pear, I"m an hourglass with big boobs. The same dress accented her booty and my hour glass perfectly. Online their clothes are meh, but you have to see them on your body. The fabrics are soft, stretchy and durable. You can wear these clothes on a 4 hour flight, get off the plane, and look as fresh as if you were styled, not sandwiched in coach. But, what's most appealing about our shopping experience was the service. OMG! True customer service. Our stylist Melanie, completely understood both our needs, fits, bodytypes and styles. She made me try on something I"d never, ever consider, yet it worked! We had an amazing day, got staples for both our wardrobes and can now go "kill it" in the business world without worrying about what pants to wear. Keep in mind, this clothes will last. You can probably get something sort of like it elsewhere, but it will not be this well made and the fit will not be as tailored. I have a very funky style and found loads there. My friend was looking for a more conservative look. So, just grab your girlfriends, book an appointment, and make it a girl's day. O, and have a freaking glass of Prosecco...because you should. I've tried one Bento box in January and one personal styling session at the Austin pop-up location in March. I browse the website once a week. **MM Lafleur items don't go on sale and the colors/prints change often.** Bento box Answer a questionnaire as I signed-up on the website. Based on my responses, MM Lafleur sent me a Bento Box. The stylist who prepared the box, Sara, emailed daily to check in. Pros: Everything fit! I'm not sure how they got the fit right because there weren't lots of size questions on the questionnaire. The items arrived quickly and with high quality. (The stylist is very responsive via email.) Cons: There is no opportunity to re-visit or update your style questionnaire. Three of the five bento box items were in colors the I don't prefer. (All beige items, I prefer charcoal grays.) There was a very short three day trial period. I really needed five to seven days to consider for these high-priced items. There was a paper form to use to give item feedback, very low tech. (I emailed Sara instead of mailing paper forms to exchange items.) please move to an online form! Daily emails are too much. Pop-up Follow the link on the website or social media ad to find a pop-up location. Fill out a style survey (different from the bento box questionnaire) and select a fitting time. The pop-up locations provide try on sessions; you don't leave with items in-hand. (Neither positive or negative, just a fact.) Pros: Everything was on time at a convenience downtown Austin location. The session did not feel rushed. The staff offered water and wine. There were try-on heels to get a good sense of each item/outfit. The stylist, Shelby, had a rack of 30+ clothing items for me to try in one hour. Because the survey was differ from the bento box survey, I was concerned that the pop-up stylist hasn't seen my bento box selections; I was wrong. All of the items at the pop-up session matched my color palette. She did a good job of picking items that I'd instantly like and a few unique items. I purchased four items. All four items shipped within five days and were delivered about five days after shipping. (Three of these items are my typical colors, and one item is something that I would not have selected. The stylist helped me pick an outfit, including shoe recommendations. I get compliments on the outfit, esp. the unique top.) My bento stylist now makes recommendations based on what I purchased at the pop-up location too. Cons: The session was in a hotel suite. The "fitting room" was a partition within the hotel room; it was a bit cramped. I was worried that I would knock over the faux wall while changing tops. It felt a bit overwhelming deciding what to buy at the end of session. My advice would be to note what items (size and color/print) you like, go home, and purchase a few days later. There were no discounts for purchasing on-the-spot. Overall, I've add a positive Mm Lafleur experience. When we get to the next season, I may try another bento box. read more

MM is such a game changer and they have THE BEST service of any clothing line, brand, or just organization in general that I have ever experienced. Not only are the clothes gorgeous, demure, work appropriate and fun, but they are so well made and last the test of a busy city professional. Recently when I went for a styling appointment, one of my dresses that I love had ripped, and they allowed me to bring it in and repaired it special for me, shipping it back to my house free of charge. My stylist knows me by name, understands my tastes and style choices, and always checks to see what I have already when pulling new looks. The brand itself has made every effort to consult my opinion regarding the plus sizing, fabrics, etc. and truly takes the feedback to heart. I'm slowly working myself up to ten dresses and some tops and pants, and each purchase I love more than the last, getting tons of compliments from my co-workers whenever I'm in my MM. I purchased a $240 long cardigan at one of the pop-up stores, and the attached developed. I'm no designer, but if someone spends $240 on a sweater, you would think it wouldn't have holes develop over very very few wears. I inquired with customer service and was given the "sorry, we can't help you". Not what I would have thought from a luxury brand. Shop with caution regarding product quality. I bought a couple of different items online. Out of the blue, I received a collection notice from a collection agency stating I owed a debt to MM LaFleur and they were attempting to collect it etc. I owed them nothing and so the letter was a total mistake. Their clothes are fine- not spectacular but fine- but there are so many other options out there with companies who have better business practices so I would avoid the headache of shopping at MM LaFleur. read more

Full disclosure: I have some friends who work here so I've heard about MM long before their social media campaigns and positive word-of-mouth rep earned them their first waves of loyal customers. I liked the concept from the beginning and even met the founder over Christmas during a holiday break a few years ago. She was lovely. I work in tech in San Francisco so my day to day work uniform is not as dressy as that of a working professional in New York City who works in, say, fashion, banking, legal, or professional services. But my startup s in the insurtech and fintech space so there are times where my level of dress needs to match the suits and biz casual dress of the decision-makers on the other side of the table. Earlier this Spring, I dropped by anyway to check out MM's showroom, try some things on, and see if there was anything I could integrate into my wardrobe for these occasions. I had an appointment with Rachel who was wonderful and so very patient in helping me try on multiple pieces. She was very receptive to my asks, one of which was machine-washable pieces because I prefer to leave having to pick up and drop off any dry-cleaning out of my routine. Bummer that she was an intern because I would have liked to have her for my next visit. The showroom dressing area is gorgeous, with lots of light and flattering ombré wallpaper for those IG photos :) There was another stylist who was helping take photos for me and recommending different ways to wear accessories or dresses. For instance, I had a belt on the wrong way but she kindly pointed out how to wear it properly. I ended up buying an aubergine V-cut dress which I adore but admittedly haven't worn yet. The pros - my stylist was so sweet, patient and helpful. The shopping experience was delightful but the tailoring and fit of the clothing missed the mark for me unfortunately. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this place. (I give the customer experience a 5 and the clothing a 3, hence a 4) The major issue I had was fit. While the tailoring of the smallest sizes of other brands like Theory, Alice + Olivia, DVF, Rebecca Taylor, Carven, Isabel Marant, Vivienne Westwood, Laure de Sagazan, etc fit me perfectly, everything (even the 0P size) was way too big (the skirts would mostly require bringing in the waist but most of the dresses would require a way more serious & involved tailoring job). The dresses had a few inches of excess fabric and a ballooning effect around the stomach & extra hanging fabric around the neckline. (It shouldn't be that far off considering 0P normally fits a 24 inch waistline and I'm only slightly under that). I ended up buying things anyway because I was drawn to their dark blue jacquard fabric type. When I asked my tailor later how much she would need to take in on the skirt, she said a little over 1.25 inches! (Something doesn't add up in MM's sizing because this skirt is supposed to be a 0P aka 24 inch waist) read more

While I have a few dresses from MM LaFleur that I do enjoy, I can no longer support the company because of their elitist and unapologetic customer service. The most recent (and culminating) incident involved a return that I made. The return (totaling over $800) was never credited to my credit card. When I contacted MM LaFleur's customer service, their response was to provide me with a digital receipt of the return. After I reasserted that the refund never went through and provided my own digital support that it had not, they informed me there was nothing to be done on their end, and I should take the issue up with my credit card company. I am very frustrated that MM Lafleur made no attempt to resolve the issue and instead left me on my own to deal with it, offering only a hollow apology. As an extremely busy working woman, I am disappointed that a presumably high-end company selling very expensive products would offer such poor customer service. read more

I shopped in a Chicago pop-up store on Sunday, June 18th and I am so glad I did. I had already a Bento box in the works and was supposed to receive on June 19th (a day after). I loved a lot of the items that the pop up store had and I made sure that I knew what my actual size was in their clothing. I had no intention of buying dresses and I ended up with two! They are phenomenal and fit me so well. I also loved several summer tops. Rachael Horton was my personal stylist and she gets five stars as well! She was polite, non judgmental and super helpful in choosing what I wanted, what I should consider and she also advised me to think outside of the box. I ended up taking a "take away" item because I wanted to wear it that night. I received my Bento box as well and returned everything because it was not my fit or what I wanted but now that I know my size and what I want and the fit - I will definitely try again in a few months once I buy my wish list items and am shopping for my fall wardrobe. Rachael even went as far as to put all the items I liked and didn't purchase that day on my wish list for easy access. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be attending another pop up when they come to Chicago. My wish is that they have a showroom in Chicago. Hope my wish comes true! Ladies...if you want an elegant work wardrobe please consider a Bento box - you won't be sorry. It may take you a few tries if you don't go in person to a pop up location but it's well worth trying to develop a relationship with a personal stylist. And it's fun too! read more

I just had the best experience at the MM LaFleur pop-up boutique in LA this weekend. Private appointment with a personal stylist, trying on lots of fun outfits, some of which I selected and some which were hand-picked for me by the stylist. It was held in a private suite in the London hotel (gorgeous) and all the staff went above and beyond to make it an excellent shopping experience (coffee, champange, etc...) I purchased multiple pieces, some of which I had asked them to show me in advance, and some surprises which were chosen by the stylist that I'd never have picked off the rack myself but which I loved on! The entire experience was fantastic, and I felt completely pampered and taken care of. MMLaFleur is a fantastic company, owned and run by women professionals for women professionals. I can't say enough about their quality, style, and commitment to women in general. oh, and definitely try the Bento Box sometime! So much fun to have gorgeous selected pieces surprise you on your doorstep! I'm hooked! read more

MM LaFleur has helped me transform my work wardrobe! I am not very fashionable, and I like all of my clothes to match each other so that I can get dressed without a lot of stress in my already stressful morning. I found MM LaFleur online last year and ordered a Bento Box. I wanted to keep everything!! Then, I heard about a pop-up near me. I've been to two pop-ups now and I've had a great time at both. Jenny is an amazing stylist! She had clothes ready for me that I asked to try on, plus other option that fit my needs, but I had not considered. I am a fan of capsule wardrobe, so she helped me match my new items with things I already owned. I knew the pop-up was going to be amazing, so I worked it into my birthday celebration (hair, nails, retail therapy!!) Online, I frequently work with Sarah, who is equally amazing! She has helped me with so many questions and with returns. I had a bit of an issue with a belt size. I had to exchange 3 times!! Sarah didn't bat an eye. My belt would arrive in a few days, no additional shipping for the new belts or the returns. So amazing! An important part of why I like MM LaFleur is the company itself. They are women owned and make a large number of their (machine washable!!) clothes in the US. I can go on their site and filter for clothes made in NYC, machine washable and tall/full-hip friendly and have a great selection of items that I love and feel good about wearing. I am infatuated. MM.LaFleur was introduced to me by Sarah LaFleur*, the namesake founder, at an event they put on for my company. I immediately took a liking to the polished, no nonsense, yet sophisticated looks of MM.LaFleur. In all honesty it has been a bit of a godsend because I've had so much trouble finding unique pieces that are work appropriate AND flattering. The ones made of well constructed materials tend to be astronomically priced (I'm looking at you, Akris). Alas, the struggle is real. Fortunately, while there are lots of boxes here to be checked, MM.LaFleur ticks every one. Their pieces are versatile, understated, yet flattering. Not sure if there's some sort of magic formula here, but I want to purge my entire closet in a Maria Kondo-esque rampage and replace it with the MM.LaFleur dress collection. My favs so far: - The Etsuko Dress Holy bananas, talk about FIT. This dress looks super simple on the rack. Don't let it fool you, it fits like a glove. The long sleeves make it very versatile. I can wear this to a 9am meeting or 8pm drinks at Brandy Library. $195 is reasonable, methinks, considering how many times I'm going to trot in this workhorse. They have this in 0P in black. I sent like 5 requests to be notified of petite availability in other colors. In the meantime I'll keep refreshing the page. REFRESH REFRESH. - The Akiko Dress The genius is in the structural design. The draping remind me of those Bernini statues in the Borghese. Elegant, but not overly elaborate. I have this in regular 0, but I really, really wish they made it in 0P. See a pattern here?** *A note on the company: I genuinely like the brand and the people behind the brand, perhaps because I can relate. That makes me want to support MM.LaFleur, not only because their clothes are insanely well made and sold at reasonable price points, but also because the folks here are actual ex-corporate/design world chicks who have a crystal clear vision of what a modern XX chromosome needs---and then consistently deliver. **A note on petite sizing: Methinks higher end petite semiformal workwear is an underserved area of the market. I've had great experience during my 60 minute personal appointments with a stylist this weekend. My stylist was very knowledgeable about fabrics and different styles. She had a selection of styles for me to try based on my preference expressed prior to the appointment but she also added some other items I would have not thought of trying in my own. My only criticism would be about tiny fitting space they allocate you. My space had a clothe rail and a bar stool which had to be taken outside so I could actually move in a room. Guests would be more comfortable is fitting space was a little bigger and cozy. read more
