By this point I've fully accepted that I'm just trying to hit every H&M in the city for reasons I cannot explain. This is what my life has become. In my defense, I do like their cheap clothes, but you absolutely get what you pay for. Give it one or two washes and watch your new shirt change shape and quality before your eyes. Disposable fashion in the most literal sense. Honestly, I mostly ducked in here to escape the sights, sounds, and wall-to-wall tourists of the Theater District for a few minutes. On that measure, it succeeded. As a clothing store, it's the same as all the others. Three stars, a running theme. read more

The pro for me is the stores hours. It was after 10pm the other night and I popped in to look at a few things. It's nice to have the option to shop that late at night. But, while it's a big location it does seem that I hardly ever find anything. On this trip they had phone cases marked down to $2 and a few accessories on sale. Seems they can't compete with other H&Ms I've been to that have many clearance racks. Service leaves something to be desired. No one's ever asked me if I need any assistance and no one ever seems to be in a good mood. Bottom line for me is it's nice to have somewhere to browse late at night but I wish there was more to see. read more

I have mixed feelings about H&M because it always seems like they never have exactly what I'm looking for. However, I do like a lot of their shirts. The pricing is always good being that I always change up my style quite frequently. The only thing I don't like is the fact that they don't print any receipts. You have to put your email in so you can't choose to print it. I feel this is just another way to get your email address and sell it and bombard you with unwanted email. This one is a nice big one opened late. Saw a few sweaters I liked my son told me online they had 40%off so we waited online to see if they price match online prices like other stores and the ladies said no. One sweater was a difference of $10 so I left that one took one sweater and bought some socks. The girls asked if I needed a bag I told her no then I see her put items in bag and when I looked at the receipt I was charged. I mean it's only 5cent but I clearly stated I did not need a bag. My pregnant wife just spent an hour at this store, purchased bags full of clothes, and when she asked to use the restroom, she was rudely told that the restrooms aren't for customers. After politely expressing the urgency of the situation she was told "i the manager, t's not happening" this person claimed to Go by "Alexis". The store itself is huge and 3 levels! The bottom level is for fitting rooms and checkout. The second level is women's clothing, and the top is men's. I love how spacious it is being in the heart of Time's Square. The actual variety of clothes is a little lacking however. Not as many options as other H&M stores. read more

I made my way here and started to search but could not locate them. I asked an employee and he was not very helpful. I then noticed a pair of pants but could not find the size I needed-- the employee informed whatever I saw was whatever they had, which I found hard to believe. It's great bc this particular store by Times Square was open late till @ 11:00 pm. My wife needed some dress slacks for her work meeting. We ate dinner & took a nice brisk walk while it lightly drizzled. The prices are always very reasonable & the dressing rooms were all kept up & clean. H&M. Sure, it's known for cheap, low-quality clothes that are produced unethically. But, it's more than just an emblem of mindless materialism. It's also infamous for theft of intellectual property! Its corporate HQ is a garish blight on the NYC skyline. And its Times Square store is chock full of hella rude employees. So I admit, my visit my have been under slight duress. Let me share the important bits though. They do not have a restroom "for the public." So yes, they do have a restroom, they just won't let your child use it, no matter how many climate-change-causing crop tops you plan to buy. Although I was just hanging out with family and along for the ride, unfortunately I still had to experience check-out, which was the cherry on the sundae. According to one employee, I wasn't moving quickly enough through the cattle drive to the cash register, which prompted them to actually heckle me, which in turn has lead to me making this review. To have the misfortune of interacting with someone so miserable really sealed the deal for me and how I feel about this brand. Garbage from the ground floor up to their skyscrapers. read more

As someone who works in customer service, I'm very disappointed by the customer service at this location. I came in today and cashier "Luis" was super rude. I stepped down to his register when I saw the prior customer was finish, Luis was obviously not ready for me but rather then communicate that and let me know that I need to wait for him to call "next" he just let me stand there and ignored me. When I noticed he wasn't going to acknowledge me, I simply stepped back and waited for the following cashier to be done. Luis should've communicated that he wasn't ready to take me, and to wait for the following cashier rather then ignore me which was completely rude/unprofessional. Advise... keep employees that are/look miserable at the job away from guest facing areas... At the end of the day, the customer service is a crucial part of anyone's experience when going into retail space, not just the product that's being purchase. read more

My favorite H&M by far. Understandably the best selection of clothing. Two levels of neatly arranged racks. No piles, nothing on the floors and everything is spaced out so you can browse comfortably without being on top of your fellow shopper. The staff is friendly and courteous too. read more

Surprisingly this store actually isn't the biggest branch in New York, that title goes to their branch on Fifth Avenue but that doesn't mean the multi-story H&M store isn't a large, cool store in the heart of Times Square on Broadway, opposite the Hilton Garden Inn and Knickerbocker (both of those being hotels). The upper floor has nice views of the city and Times Square and some seating too, perhaps if you wanted to sit back and relax for a few minutes taking in views of a terrific part of the city. I was upset to hear the store has no bathrooms, a store this size should surely have bathrooms, especially considering other similar type stores of similar size do, including M&M's Store. Prices are a little high and of course, you can get better fashion in other parts of the city, the lifts also seemed too slow for the size and how busy the store was, albeit this is still a pretty decent cool store in a great location with great views so still warrants three-stars! read more

I love to shop at H&M but this location is dreadfully cold in the winter because they keep their front doors open. Customers shouldn't be uncomfortable while patronizing a business and that's how I felt and I noticed that other customers were as well. I will never come back here to shop in the winter months. People were sneezing and coughing all over the place...... disgusting! I feel so bad for the employees that have to ring up customers on the first floor, they look like they were about to turn into Frosty the Snowman last night. One employee said that he was cold because of the temperature conditions of the store. I wrote a complaint to the corporate office about this matter. Nice store, three levels, very clean and well organized. The few times I needed help, I found the personnel to be very accomodating.

I always struggled with sizes, most of the time they have my size at the mannequin, so I raised my concern at the staff because this time the dress is available but the belt is missing . Therefore , they cannot take it off the mannequin. I've spoken with 2 floor associates and asked to see the manager Claudia . She was nice enough to let me know that the belt was left in the dressing room . It's amazing for such a big store she knew where it was . All associates I came across yesterday Labor Day was very attentive and professional for listening to my complaints ....I recommend this H&M to everyone .... read more

Giant H&M superstore. 3 levels of shopping. Nice views of Time Square. The staff on hand in the men's department were somewhat friendly and helpful. On the downside, there are no public bathrooms for customers. I understand you need to protect your property and staff by keeping out the riffraff, but paying customers should be able to use a bathroom. That is disappointing. Clothes are good and inexpensive but the customer service is awful. Fawaz on the first register was very rude, literally threw my clothes in the bag and got upset when I took one dress that I wanted to wear that night and folded it so that it would not need ironing. He yelled at me and then when he rung me up the register didn't print a receipt and he said it happens all the time. I said I am being charged twice and he said I wouldn't be, that one charge would drop off. And if it doesn't I could always come back. Really? Like I'd ever want to go back to Times Square to wait in line and correct my bill: I walked away uncomfortable because he was so rude but a very friendly sweet African American man who works there confirmed that this register has issues and that it would not bill me twice. What should've been a simple shopping trip ended up being a headache. I got to the register and had rude cashier who didn't even acknowledge me, partially because she was too busy talking to everyone else around her, but the worst part was waiting 15 MINUTES for my damn receipt! For some reason it didn't print. I think it was the "manager" came over and for some reason needed to go to the back office to print my receipt??? WHY?? She said she would be right back in a couple of minutes, we were standing there for 15 minutes, Literally. No apology just some weird 2 page receipt printed on what looks like generic full page invoice I could print at home. And I agree with the other reviews about the loud, offensive music, they were playing a song that kept repeating ..."Time to have sex". This location is the best location in the city. With multilevel floors centered on men, women's and kids clothing as well as access to spacious fitting rooms, you'll be able to shop with no problems. You can find some unique pieces that aren't available in other stores. Last time I came I found this awesome Maxi dress from the Conscious collection. It fit just right but I wanted to size up. Unfortunately, it was the only one on the floor. Errrgh! There can be long lines depending on the day. Once, I had a quick question and went to the front to ask an associate and she was able to answer once she finished checking out a customer. There is also a digital runway where you can be featured as you catwalk it down to the crowds outside! Absolutely love this bustling location. read more

I used to love this H&M but the staff is not friendly. Most of them look like they're not even interested in working. I went in there to purchase a shirt for a birthday party. I brought in a pie of pants I purchased earlier this year , that I lost the receipt to while moving. So I brought my card and ID and asked the cashier if I could receive a store credit or if I found something around the same cost was I able to exchange it for that. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes because there was one register opened. They said no because they no longer give store credit. Just to find out that they extended it or it's till August 1st. Okay great, so I went found a few items went to the changing room upstairs , just to wait in line again. For another person whom looked like they didn't like working to give me a room. As I was in the room changing my clothes, the cleaning person came and swept under the curtain as I was in the room changing touching my feet with the broom. The only person I encountered who was friendly was a femme presenting individual curly hair, brown, glasses on the second floor register. I wish I captured her name because she was the only person I saw smiling. This location is gorgeous but I rather go to King's Plaza have a smaller men's section and wait on a longer line then spend my money somewhere people don't even wanna show up to. Or are miserable at. Says a lot about the leadership there to me. They're obviously not making the team happy to be there. read more

I am generally not an H&M shopper. To me, their clothes are low quality, with a one season lifespan and very disposable. I also have to size up exponentially to fit into any of their poorly made designs - no thank you! Now that I have finished my diatribe, I will go on to describe my newly discovered affection for H&M clothes - the kids department. Summer dresses for $4.99. Fleece jackets for $12 - now we are talking! The styles are current and appealing to a child's taste. I don't expect the clothes from the kids line to go from one year to the next but when my kids spill paint, ink or God knows what on their clothes, I don't smile through gritted teeth, frustrated that a $20 dress got stained on its first wearing will now go into the garbage. A very aggressive Person Named " Tony" who works security detail approached me, I had a ice tea can which he was suspecting was alchol, I showed the can and told him it was not alchol but then he continued telling me that I am not suppose to drink beer even after I confirmed it was just tea. When I tried to reason with him he told me " go go" dismissing me like I was an Object. When I told him to get the manager he told me " go find him yourself" I am of African American decent so I can't accept this type of stereotypical treatment . There are SALES EVERY HOUR ALL DAY TODAY! $3 t-shirts (long-sleeved, short-sleeved) $5 dress shirts $7 sweaters LAYOUT: 1st & 2nd floors: Women's clothing & accessories 3rd floor: Men's and Children's CON: No public restrooms, not even for those who waited in line for hours in the freezing cold! Then again, it's Times Square so I suppose they don't want just anyone to have access? PROS: Everything within the store was replenished/handled well & all the staff was in good cheer: _ Greeters danced to music the DJ was pumping live as we entered, setting the party mood. _ They handed out samples of Dippin' Dots (too cold for ice cream!), and hot cider (very nice for the long, cold wait outside), curry nut mix, caramelized apples, and pretzels. Took a picture of the shoes displayed in the window after walking three stories for 15 minutes looking for sales associate. Was pointed by security guard to store manager (behind registers). Showed her picture of shoes, said I'd been to the floor with shoes, and all the other floors, and could find neither a sales associate nor the shoes. She told me- rather than looking up a style or price code, which I had- that if I couldn't find it (in the 4 story cavernous store) that they didn't have it. Terrible service and rude employees. Had to use the restroom and they told me it was closed. Their store was going to be open for 2 more hours and they said that it was closed. The employees gave me no reason why the restroom was closed...it was as if they could care less. Then they told me to ask the janitor/cleaning lady, which I did and she rudely said "no", with no explanation. I told her that I seriously needed to use the bathroom and it was as if I was invisible.
