In search of certain clothing items brought me to Nordstrom Rack, which by the way my be the second store in the city. What happened to all the other locations? Moving along, went to the store on a busy Saturday afternoon, and there was indeed a great selection of clothes that i was in search of. The downside is that the dressing rooms don't have a seat inside and due to a knee injury i had to wait a long time for the only stall to become available. The dressing room area is extremely busy and the staff appeared overwhelm with the consumption of clothes left behind by customers. The space in the store is good, nothing appears cluttered or scattered and the floors are kept clean. Needed to use the restroom and that is also an area that only has one per gender and the lines become a bit much. Due to the restrooms overuse it definitely requires additional cleaning to maintain it clean and stocked with toiletries. Overall ok experience, I was not asked if I needed assistance by a staff member. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've visited this store and the one on 14th Street Union Square. Even if I leave empty handed I love checking out the clothes and handbags. It's like a treasure hunt when you never know what you're gonna find! I'm recommending any location near you. read more

If I could give zero stars on Yelp, I would give it to this Nordstrom Rack location. I usually love shopping at Nordstrom Rack, but the customer service here was terrible. I wanted to use a coupon that was sent to my account, but the store associate insisted that I must present a government ID in order to use it, however, I did not have one on me at that moment. Nowhere in the coupon fine print does it mention government ID. I also asked if I could show my physical work ID that had my name and picture or a picture of my government ID, but she said no with absolutely terrible attitude. I am appalled that the associates were enforcing rules that did NOT exist. Absolutely terrible service. I did not end up buying anything because I was very upset. Zero stars. read more

I usually shop at Nordstrom Rack for deals, but this location (W 30th-31st) really disappointed me. The store is huge it takes up a whole block and they even sell children's clothes, but they don't have a single public restroom for customers. As a parent, this is frustrating and honestly unacceptable. Families with kids (and even elderly shoppers) need restroom access, especially in such a big store. It's very inconvenient to shop here knowing you'll have to leave the building and search for a bathroom somewhere else in Midtown. For a store of this size and reputation, I expected better customer service and basic amenities. The lack of restrooms makes shopping here stressful, and I'll be rethinking coming back read more

I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon so you could imagine how busy it was. Although there was a long line and only 4 registers opened, it moved quickly and I was in and out! Great customer service and cleanliness of the store was on point ! Gabriel is a sales associate's who worked on the floor who deserves a raise!!! He was finding orders and scanning. I interrupted him because I was seeking a xxl jacket for my mom. He saw there was one in the store by checking the system and searched the racks with me. He couldn't find it then we both gave up. This location has a great selection of designer shoes and handbags. I wish they had more seating areas available in the shoe section for when you try on shoes. It is quite uncomfortable trying on shoes while standing. I like to come here specifically for their sneakers as the prices are extremely reasonable compared to purchasing elsewhere. If you're into skin care products, this place also has a good selection of cosmetics. You can also recycle your old beauty products here. I don't have the patience to sort through the clothing, but my advice is if you see something you like, just buy it. They usually only have 1 or 2 pieces of each article. On my last visit, I spotted a cute summer dress in my size but I decided to check out the shoes and then come back for the dress, when I went back a few minutes later it was already gone. read more

Deciding to escalate the issue, I asked to speak with a manager, hoping it would help. Lavasih, black woman, came over and only made things worse, treating me even more dismissively than the staff had. It was honestly mind-boggling how unprofessional and disrespectful everyone was. I usually never really find much at this rack store but I always walk in to see what's trending.. This location has the BeautyCycle bin for all your empties which I do appreciate. Select Nordstrom/rack stores are currently accepting empty beauty product containers for recycling which is great to minimize the piles of waste in the landfill! I'm really unhappy with the brand because I do think they need to offer public restrooms. Back in the day, the clothing here used to be so exciting. Now the only designer items I find are shoes and purses, many of which are plastic now. Online offers such better selection, but I want to shop in store because my delivery items keep getting stolen, and the brand does not cover theft, even if it happens within an hour of delivery. (Gotta love nyc - professional theives get my stuff before I can even run downstairs!) but seriously, I gave this store MANY chances. I vowed not to go back after my last visit because all I saw was extremely tacky polyester clothing. There may have been a few redeemable denim options but I was looking for a wedding guest dress and all merchandise was ridiculously out of season. Even sneakers were the lowest possible quality. The brands were simply obviously designed for nordstrom rack and not regular nordstrom. Never again. It used to be our routine to shop at the Union Square Rack whenever we visited NYC from California. On a recent visit we decided to check out this store which's only a few blocks walking distance from our hotel on 37th instead. Walking down bustling 6th Ave. to 34th was an experience! Subjectively, we found the ambience at this store more austere and less cheerful. It was clean and well-organized, however, and we did find some higher end brands that we did not see back home. This store is a hit or miss. Don't expect any amazing deals, and if something happens to be on sale it's at a price that's a lot cheaper then it's intended retail price. Double check your items to see if they are missing anything or if there are any scratches or marks. I brought a designer bag that was missing the strap and got 10% off. read more

My experience was beyond amazing here. This is not my first time shopping at this location as I always travel here when I come to NYC. However, this was my first time shopping here since the pandemic. We came here after visiting the new Nordstrom as an employee told us we could find some amazing things. I have to be honest, I did not think I would find what I found! A few years ago I found a St. John blazer but that was it. Well on August 5, we walked in and immediately we saw the Gucci, MCM, Mansur Graviel, etc bags! We could not even make our way out of the bag section! I next made my way to the jewelry section..... Oh my gosh! So many cool Gucci pieces. From there I went to shoes. Now I will say that the shoe section for sizes 41.5/42 is hit or miss because they probably do not get too many of those sizes if any but I didn't mind because I found so many other gems. We ended by going upstairs....DESIGNER CLOTHING!!! I think we spent 3 hours in this store. We got in line maybe 3 times. I also want to talk about the employee Jose (not sure if he is a manager or sales associate)! If he is not a manager then please give this man a raise and promote him! My experience is due to him. This man provided EXCELLENT customer service. To sit on the phone for at least 20/30 minutes to work out an issue. He did not have to do that but he did! He remained calm and was so nice about it. My review is for Nordstrom Rack as a company as a whole. I ordered an item and it decided to ship half of it to a store 6 hours away from me but the other half to a store less than an hour away from me. I called to try to see what could be done and was told the following: 1. Wait for it to get to the store (over a week from now because it has NOT even shipped) 6 hours away, call them, and have them ship it to the store that is less than an hour away. She sounded very happy that this was even an option. I told her that was not an acceptable option because I needed the dress for an event and it would definitely not be here in time if I had to have it shipped a second time when it hasn't even shipped the first time. She then told me the only other option was: 2. I would need to wait for it to get to the wrong store and do nothing. The store would send it back to the warehouse for a "non-pickup" and then I could be refunded. This is the most ridiculous process and I absolutely will never order anything on their website again. I repeat, my order hasn't even shipped yet, and they will not do anything to cancel it. Customer service is fucking bullshit. read more

I came here on a Wednesday at around 11am. I always head straight to the sunglasses first since their near the entrance. They had tons of Ray-Bans. Too many in my opinion. I'm not a Ray-Ban fan, and instead prefer brands like Raen, Westwood, or Quay. My favorite pair of sunglasses I got here are the Raen Kettler sunglasses. I had never heard of Raen sunglasses before I saw them here. This is a decent place to discover some new brands. I also like to check out the shoes here. They have a decent assortment of designer, and moderate brand shoes. They always have tons of Nike shoes, and some Adidas. This trip, they had lots of Ted Baker shoes The bag selection is ok, and is near the entrance. Some great top-notch brands. I found a black studded MCM backpack that was stellar. The have a decent selection of beauty and hair products. They are much cleaner and more organized than places like TJ Maxx or Marshall's, where the beauty products are always already opened and half used. But their prices definitely reflect their unopened nature. read more

If you want to return something you're better off going to Nordstrom's because they have fast checkout. The checkout return counter at this location is always close it's a front! Bigger, better organized and less crowded than the Nordstrom Rack in Union Square. You won't have to wait on line for 15 minutes to make an online return like you do in US. Because of the additional space, there is a much larger selection of items, including a small kids and home section. Why didn't I know about this location sooner?! read more

I work nearby so I come often to shop after work. I came today on a weekend because my boyfriend wanted pants and we discovered that the basement has men's and home. (I previously never knew that there was a basement...) The first floor is women's shoes, purses, and accessories. The second floor is women's clothing. All the sections are well organized by type of item and/or by size, and they also differentiate between "designer" and non-"designer" sections (higher end and lower end). I have never had to wait for a fitting room as there are many stalls and am generally quite satisfied with their selection, although, come to think of it, I have never successfully made a purchase. read more

10 months ago, I had gastric bypass surgery, losing over 100 pounds to date. There was nothing in my closet that fit. Additionally, we are heading across to London, Paris, and Rome for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation in a couple of weeks. Needless to say, I needed clothes ASAP. I literally had nothing in my closet for the cooler weather. Shopping for clothes has always been overwhelming since I was a much bigger size. This was my first experience shopping for my new sizes, and I was terrified to say the least. Luckily, I came across Bob on the mens sales floor and Nicholas as my tailor. I am 5'1'', 180#, and still stocky as I am in the thick of my weight loss journey. I told Bob my price points and he immediately dove into the racks and pulled out a wide variety of sport coats, pants, shirts, jeans, everything I needed to fit my new body and my budget. It was like he could look at me and know exactly what would fit me best and make me look the most sharp in my smaller size. I was delighted! Bob made me feel so comfortable, it was like shopping with my best friend. He was kind and sensitive, and the consummate professional. And then I had the pleasure of meeting Nicholas. Because of my short stature and body type, everything I buy needs to be altered to fit properly. Nicholas had a big job ahead of him. He tackled every garment with ease and made me feel wonderful about my choices. In all, Nicholas tailored 4 pairs of dress pants, 2 pairs of jeans, and a sport coat that practically needed to be torn apart and rebuilt to fit me. He even went as far as to cut me some deals on some of the smaller alterations. I have had other tailors nickel and dime me for every stitch, but not Nicholas! Like his colleague, he was efficient, professional, and deeply sensitive to my needs. I would not take the time to write this lengthy review unless I felt these two men truly deserved the highest praise for going above and beyond my expectations. I felt like I was the only customer in the store. If you have ever felt self-conscious in a clothing store, you know exactly what a treasure an experience like this can be. I live in NJ and, despite our plethora of malls, will only shop at the Nordstrom Rack 6th Avenue moving forward. Thank you, Bob and Nicholas. You truly are a dynamic duo. Somebody give these guys a raise. Whatever Nordstrom Rack is paying does not do them justice. I could not be more happy with my shopping experience. Now I'm ready to look fashionable in Europe and I have a fall wardrobe for when I return home. Could not ask for more! Men (and those who shop for the men they love)...Go to the mens store and look for Bob and Nicholas. You will not be disappointed. New location that just opened up end of October. It occupies multiple floors so it feels more spacious than the one by Union Square. Love its wide selection and some of the prices are very reasonable. It was packed the day I went which was after the grand opening. Registrar line was long but it moved quickly. Restrooms are now unisex so men and women wait in the same line. read more
