Really large clothing store with separate areas for men and women. Some touristy stuff, and as usual, eleventy billion shirts with the words Ocean and City on it so you, in fact, remember that you are in Ocean City. Some of the clothing was surprisingly cute. Included a nice selection of beachwear like swimsuits, cover ups, beach bags, etc. Bonus - HUGE parking lot (though not free) behind the store. read more

I walked around the store gathering overpriced dresses and tops totaling hundreds of dollars ( thought I'd treat myself today while supporting local business) to find that the fitting room has not been opened. Okay, due to Covid I've gotten used to trying clothes on at home. And here comes the SCAM. NO RETURNS!!You can only exchange or get store credit. So basically they are taking full advantage of the Covid 19 situation and giving a giant F-you to their customers. You can't try on clothes. You can't return the clothes if you don't like them on. I guess they are coasting along with the money they make this way from summer tourists. Never again will I step foot in this store. Have been coming to OC since 1950. My wife's cousins had 3 ladies stores on Asbury and 1 on the boardwalk. Over time they have closed but we still come to OC and try to support the businesses. My recent experience at B and B. wasn't a good one and we will NEVER purchase anything from them again. We purchase a sweatshirt for a Christmas present, and was aware of the return date. The week we were able to get back to OC there were two snow storms and OC got hit bad. (I bet they were even closed on one of those days if not both) Came down on Sunday ONE day past the return date. I understand not giving a refund but they wouldn't even exchange or give a store credit. Unbelievable. read more

I give this store four stars because it had so much stuff selling, nothing I was interested in particularly, but tons of tee shirts for the BF to choose from. I stand here writing this review as he painstakingly looks through every Hurley, Rip Curl, Quick Silver, O'Neill and Billabong shirt in fricking gray, black or blue in a size medium. Literally. Anyway, everything seems neat and tidy. The store is very clean. The teenagers working here seem very genial with each other. I will say that they (the kid workers) could use a class in speaking to customers they make eye contact with. Having walked the entire store and only got a hello from a young man called Clark, this is what my key takeaway is. He gets all the points today! read more

The worst! they have no available fitting room to try on clothes. Yet do not offer to return your money if the clothes do not fit and have been never worn AND WITH TAGS ATTACHED!! Also within the 14 day return restriction. However, they do have an available fitting room for trying on swimsuits? If you don't care for the swimsuit you can return it to the sales floor! I told them I did not live in the area and was a beast cancer patient just having gone through my 11th surgery. Trying to find clothes to fit my body is difficult. The sales manager told me "these are changing times" and could not do anything. I spent $250 plus dollars. Store credit was the ONLY OPTION. THEY HANDED ME A PAPER RECEIPT AS A FORM OF THAT CREDIT. The clothing selection is very good, but gave them one star because of a recent experience with their return policy. I purchased presents for my wife in mid-December and when she went to exchange some of the items recently they told her there was a 7 day exchange policy. I purposely bought full price items so they can be returned. If you are buying for yourself and you are 100% you don't want to return then shop here. Otherwise try some of the other stores in OC that are more understanding. read more

We have been coming to this store for 50 years. We have always found prices and quality to be decent. However, due to a medical condition my family member now needs XL or even 1X. I purchased two pairs of sandals, swim trunks and a Billabong men's shirt. The cashier that rang me up told me that the swim trunks and sandals were final sales and the shirt could be exchanged within 14 days. So, the shirt did not fit and I tried to exchange one week later and was told that it was a final sale. This was not an item that was on sale. I paid full price. And the item that I was exchanging it for was more money. So they would have gotten more money from me. When I asked why, he said "because of the type of material, it's "like a rash guard " and it's UPF protection". I was truly shocked. Sad thing is, I love the items in this store but this was so ridiculous to me that I will no longer shop there. Plenty of other places to shop with better customer service. read more

I have been coming here every summer for years, but this trip will b the last time ! I have the same story as others on here. Was with my daughter and she had a pair of Jean joggers and a white shirt in two sizes because you can't try anything on (which at this point is just plain ridiculous!) . When we got to the register I heard the return policy given to the girl in front of us . So I asked to be sure that they are not allowing us to try stuff on but no money back, only a exchange or store credit. Doesn't make sense at all total bullshit ! I left the store w it's no items and we went down to island Gypsy and the place was hopping !! So B & B clothing store in Ocean City, NJ. Let me start with my crazy trip so far. I just came down the shore last night with my crazy gay step dad and cool hippie chick, my mom. Both when together "sparks fly" (they were married for over fifteen years). Anyway after a night at the Trump Taj Mahal to see Ringo Starr and his "All-Starr" band, which was amusing to see so many people young and old. Certainly these guys don't rock out with their cocks out as they once did, now using supplements like "Viagra" to get the job done. Either way fun to watch with a few cocktails to chase. Or at least to see whatever happened to the lead singer of "Men at Work" and yes he did sing his famous song "I come from the land down under...". He even said to the crowd "I have no shame" and said he was once asked if he was the singer for "Flocks of Seagulls" and he replied "I wish, they had great cocaine". Anyway... Today we made our way to this department store before arriving at the beach earlier this afternoon. I must say great deals on some cool clothes. As usual I scored some brown and other earth-tone attire. My new cargo shorts are pretty nifty. For "down the shore" prices it is "mos def" a bargain. Shop here first before wasting a good couple of Franklin's on the boardwalk. Especially if you find shirts that say "Dad! I'm blogging here!" or "Silly Queer, we men drink beer!" amusing. When you can get a decent shirt that will make you less "trash" and more "dash". Well we're about to leave and I still have a good couple of hours ahead with my wonderful dysfunctional family, but I love them and they inspire me every minute... to write a book about them. I'm not sure what to think of B&B. My Mom always talked about it so my first time I wasn't sure what to expect. Department store...mixed with who knows what. We went at the end of the summer (Labor Day weekend) so they had a lot of sales going on which was pretty neat. My arms were loaded with goodies as I made my way into the fitting room (with a HUGE long forming). The clothing was not of any brands I had heard of (except the Sperry brand of shoes) so of course the fit wasn't great...most of what I brought into try on went right back on the racks. The store is chaotic - they do have trendy styles which made a lot of the younger girls go crazy for which made my shopping experience a little more frustrating..but not bad. I only ended up shopping half of the store as time was running low and we needed to leave. I got a couple finds...used some store credit and left. I wouldn't be upset if I didn't go in here next time we're in the city, but if you need something quick that you forgot to pack..check it out. read more

This store is one of those places you somewhat feel compelled to visit when you are in town. There is a huge amount of apparel, but it misses the mark. There's the proverbial screen-printed t-shirts that say "OCNJ" on sale all the way to Vineyard Vines apparel. Two totally different price points catering to two totally different markets. However, the layout of the store is totally obscene. There are sections of the store in which you can't navigate because the racks are so close together. Honestly, someone in a wheelchair could not navigate the store. Sure, there's something for everyone here in this store. Good luck trying to find it. read more

I've gone to B&B dozens of times over the years, and decided to pop by today on my way to the beach. We parked outside and realized we had no change, so I left the boyfriend in the car while I went inside. I explained to the cashier my situation, and that I was coming here TO SHOP AT B&B and asked him to change $1 for me. I was told that he could not provide me with change, since he'd 'have to call a manager over.' I walked out and announced that I would take my business elsewhere. The cashier was just following terrible protocol, but could have offered to call a manager over instead of trying to dissuade me from bugging him further. It was suggested that I go to a restaurant next door and ask for change...but why would I enter a business that I was not planning on patronizing for change? Seems strange. I bought two bathing suits for my husband in the store and while looking I asked the sales representative if they were mens or young mens and she specifically told me they were mens. I picked out two bathing suits and took them to the cash register and again asked the sales girl if they were men or young mens because he couldn't try them on because of the Covid and they were not returnable. I paid for them $44.00 and left. We got home and my husband tried them on and couldn't get them over his hips. I called the manager at the store and he said even though she told me they were young mens there was nothing he could do about it. Even though I was lied to he would not exchange or give me back my money so now I have two bathing suits I paid $44.00 for and he can't wear them. The manager was not understanding at all and in other words told me to bad!! I would never shop in that store again and think they would tell you anything to make a sale. I've been a resident of Ocean City for years. I love frequenting and supporting the local shops downtown. I have found most of the places friendly, appreciative and polite. Unfortunately, my experience with B & B is the opposite of friendly, courteous and polite. B&B is one of the larger stores downtown and the store has a mixture of high end and slightly overpriced items and really cheap items of poor quality. I stopped by often just to browse and occasionally bought an item. However, my personal interactions with the store and its employees has been nothing but frustrating. Several times, instead of customer service, I have been met with indifference at best and moments of immense stupidity and dissatisfaction at worst. I am a resident of Ocean City and have taken many family and guests to B and B over the years. I was recently appalled that they do not have a public bathroom facility for paying customers!!! Handicapped people, little children, pregnant mothers and all paying customers should have a facility in the store. I was told to go across the street to another store to use their facility. (Wonder how that store likes paying for OC expensive water if you are not their customer) Secondly, I paid cash for several items and should have been warned that if I returned an item, I would not get cash back, only store credit. I would have used my credit card if I had known the policy. I will not shop at B and B and will not recommend it to friends until a "public bathroom" is reinstated. The excuse of Hurricane Sandy causing damage to the original restroom is absurd! All the other establishments on the "avenue" repaired their restrooms and I repaired all the damage to my home and rental properties. (I assume that flood insurance paid for a new one.) If you value my business, a restroom will quickly be furnished for paying customers. read more

To get the low prices the quality is very poor. There is only a 15 day return policy so if the clothing fails after that your stuck with it. If you are looking for souvenirs no deals but lots of stuff with Ocean City on it. Won't be going back. read more

I recently had a good review about B&B but after my experience today, I will gladly change my opinion. I was at B&B today and after having looked at all the different sandals, I chose a pair. I was waiting behind a man that was paying when I heard, "i'll take the next customer, please!" I went around where I was met with some female employee who asked me if I was next in line. I responded by saying "no" and that I was around the side. There were no other customers waiting around, mind you. All the people that were standing near the desk were people that were already into their transactions. This is why this seemed so strange to me. The girl tells me, "sorry you have to go around because i'm here for the next customer." I put the sandals down and left because clearly there was something else happening that this girl though I was too stupid to understand. I will never go back and will certainly discourage people associated with my rental properties as well as inform others I am associated with in real estate as to what happened to me, and could happen to anyone else. I am thoroughly disgusted at such snobby, reprehensible behavior and I really hope someday somebody makes that disgusting person feel like they made me feel. read more

I had the best experience at B & B department store over the weekend. My sister was looking for a dress for her 21st birthday and wasn't finding anything that was fitting her right. The two ladies at the fitting room, Nellie and Shirley, took it upon themselves to go onto the sales floor and find her dresses that would compliment her body shape and that she would love. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience at the store and that we walked out of the store with something we loved. I have never been treated this way before in a department store. We were all beyond satisfied with the employees and store overall. Otherwise, great selection and fair prices for the clothes. We will definitely be returning on our next trip down to OCNJ! read more
