after being told, fall of 2021, that I had a leak in my coolant system, and to have it repaired in the spring... I began calling "the other company" over 15 times in March and April, without a return call... my friend had had a very good experience with B and B, and suggested I give them a call.... I called B and B this morning, May 5, and they were out at one in the afternoon... (209 474-8100) after a complete evaluation, which included pressures, exchange temp rates, and much much more... I was informed that I did not have a leak in the system, I do not need any refrigerant, and in fact my system is working optimally. Bobbie was GREAT. Thorough, efficient, and informative. He could easily have "upsold" some type of repair or part.... This family owned business understands the importance of good service and customer loyalty. Over the years our aging system has had a few issues ranging from problems with the control board to clogs in hoses. They even cleaned up a mess made by another company (whose name I don't recall). Everytime I call them I'm afraid it's going to be really expensive and most times it turns out my worries are unfounded. They aren't necessarily the cheapest, but they do the work right the first time. Their repairs stick. And that, actually, winds up saving us money. HVAC systems are going to break down. I had an appointment for an estimate to buy a whole new HVAC system. Receptionist was very attentive and professional. September 7th was my appointment. Bob was about an hour late for the appointment, but no big deal. Was told I would receive an estimate by the 9th, still haven't heard back. Also sent this company to my moms house the same day for an estimate for new system as well. She hasn't heard back either. I knew going into it that B&B was going to be more expensive, but I wanted to ensure a quality company. I can't speak to how their work measures up, as I never got that far. I'm not sure if they just didn't want to do the work, but there was pretty good money to be made and I couldn't get a call back. Seems like a common theme with this company. Disappointed! read more

I found B&B from Yelp and they were recommended to me by a co-worker. My air conditioner was only blowing hot air and I was melting in my house! Bob came out this morning to take a look. I was expecting it to be a big issue, but it turns out I just needed to change the filter as the compressor had frozen over from the full filter! I had changed it at the beginning of summer but I guess it needed changes again! Bob was so nice and just told me to change my filter and didn't even charge me for diagnosing the issue!! A true family run business with pride of ownership and good work ethic. I installed a split unit ductless air conditioner into my 1917 home. They assisted me from choosing the correct system to finding the rebates I needed to afford it. In the end I got a much better system (with heat as well) for a lower price due to their knowledge of rebates and discounts. The work was quick, the employees friendly and they cleaned up after. They are the best and the most professional ones I have ever seen. There was something wrong with my furnace and I couldn't turn it on. Another company came here and didn't give me the right diagnosis and suggest me change the whole units which will cost almost $2800. Requested a quote via Yelp to get the AC running again at my mother's home, explaining/describing what the issue was, and what we usually encounter every season. The visit wasn't urgent but they were able to get me in about 3-4 days later. Technician they sent out was Brent, who also called 10-15 minutes before his arrival, and promptly started troubleshooting. This gentleman took his time, and explained everything he was planning to do, what he does to test this/that and what he was looking for that showed pass/fail. Once issues were pinpointed, he gave part pricing before each replacement and waited on my approval. Essentially ended up getting a "Kick-Start" capacitor to our AC unit cause the compressor wasn't kicking on, repaired a shorted line that led upstairs to the thermostat, and a new "thermoresistor" unit in the garage cause the old one practically melted (probably due to the wiring short) which in turn kept the blower/handler from ever shutting off. Brent was thorough, polite, and was able to put things in layman's terms for a non-educated HVAC person. Recommend this family run local company. Final total repair cost was lower than i anticipated, and much lower than our usual company that we go to that probably would have charged me double, and spent a quarter of the time there. My AC died in the middle of the Stockton summer, a dead blower fan. B&B ordered the part for me and installed it quickly and for a VERY reasonable rate. Almost a year later I noticed my fan was on constantly despite the thermostat not being switched to "on" and I gave them a call. Bobby came out and noticed a shorted wire (had nothing to do with last year's install) and fixed it for free for me. I would highly recommend them as both honest and proficient work. The city was fining me for existing violations on a foreclosed home I purchased. I had taken them on with the understanding that my final payment would arrive with the completion of the job (and relief from the city violations). They allowed it to drag on without resolving the issue, all the while I was getting fined every few months, and when I finally found someone else to finish it up, they ended up referring me to a debt collector!
