Leaking drain valve after flashing drain service.

I'm never do business with J&J heating again. I wanted water gas heater drain service. I had service guy come out and the whole hour he trying selling me their service on HVAC or plumbing needs. Long story short he finally started drain service on my gas water heater tank and he broke the drain valve on it. Whated to change $300 for the easy fix. I talk to the manager he was ok price down to $75 which basically service man fault. So next day other service employee come out from their company who did the fix, say that I shouldn't be charged for it since he broke it. so $89 drain service for water heater cost me almost double. In the end they have salesmen want to sell you services then being technician who provide you services. zero star service...

They needed access to our attic to make a repair to our AC unit, so I set up a catwalk and lights in our attic to make it more accessible for them, and they still stepped between the rafters and fell through our ceiling right in the middle of our kitchen. now our new freshly painted house has a huge repair patch in the center of our living space. On top of that, they didn't even notify us that this incident happened, we didn't get a service report showing that the repair was even made, they didn't clean up all the attic insulation that fell into our house and the mess from the drywall they cut in our driveway, and our AC unit won't even connect to the thermostat now so we can even use it! And now they're fighting with us because they don't want to pay our painter to retexture and repaint our ceiling that they damaged. It also took them over a month to even make the repair to our AC in the first place, supposedly because the part was on back order, but then they got the part in and never notified us until we called asking what was taking so long. Be careful who you hire

We regret that we must inform others of the service failure we experienced with J & J Services. On October 1st we had a representative from J & J Services to our home to replace a part on our hot water heater they had deemed broken at a past visit. To change out the part, the hot water heater had to first be drained. Their service provider set up his equipment and extended his hose out to our lawn where he had planned to empty the water from the heater. A few moments after he began, I started hearing water dripping, but thought it must be coming from the actual hot water heater and since the repair person was there with it, everything must be going as planned. Unfortunately, I realized that the water was no longer a drip, but a pour and it had to be coming from somewhere other then the closet that holds the heater. Upon inspection I noticed water in the hallway on the opposite side of the house which led me to find the source. Once I entered one of the bedrooms, which we use as an office, I realized the gravity of the situation. Water was draining from the air conditioner vent, as well as the ceiling fan and down through the light switch on the wall. I ran outside to let the gentleman know what was happening and he immediately turned something off that stopped the flow of water coming from the ceiling except for the remnant trickle remaining in the attic. J & J Services representative and I rushed to get buckets to catch the dripping water, and I put towels down in the hall where the water was pooling. I then started removing items from my office that were not directly under the flowing water, to prevent them from getting ruined. While I was trying to salvage my things, J & J started to collect his equipment before he even wanted to see what the reason for the flooding might be. Once he got guidance from his company, he asked to go into the attic to investigate. The entrance is in one of the bedroom closets, so I had to empty it hastily before he could even set up his ladder. Once he poked his head into the opening of the attic, he said that he was going to have the repair crew come out and take a look, because he was too big to fit through the small opening and too old to crawl around up there. I did not question him about that knowing that he is a qualified hot water heater service provider and I know nothing of the sort. He did inform me before his abrupt departure, that we would be without hot water for the entire weekend because it was Friday afternoon, and he wouldn't be back until at the earliest Monday. An inconvenience for sure, but after watching the water that had just poured from my ceiling, I wasn't sure we would even be able to stay in the house let alone shower. Not long after the first J & J employee bolted from our home, the repair team arrived. They were extremely nice and empathic to our predicament. They got right up into the attic, looked for the reason of the flood, inspected the damage it had caused, and even made sure we had hot water again. At no point had we heard from the owner of J & J or a manager, we simply worked with the representatives that were there. Lucky for all involved we know someone who is a Restoration Specialist who deals with flood and fire damage as a profession. He came out that evening with water moisture readers and took readings of every area of the room, including places that we were sure were not affected just to get an accurate idea of where the damage is located. He also started placing air mover fans and dehumidifiers throughout the hallway and room to try and prevent mold from growing. We lived with the fans going 24/7 for a week and a half and had moisture readings daily to track the progress. All of this to ensure that the room was not a total loss, and still no one from J & J reached out. We are so fortunate that so much was salvaged, but of course not everything could be saved. We finally had to contact the owner of J & J Services ourselves to see how they wanted to proceed, either privately, or if they wanted to make an insurance claim. Unfortunately, our request to get their help has been met with complete denial of any wrongdoing. It is unacceptable and disappointing that now we must take additional steps to try and resolve this problem. We are simply seeking replacement of the damaged items, such as carpet, the now bowing ceiling, the still wet wall, etc. We now feel as though we are left with no choice but to seek assistance from the Contractor's Licensing Board, Better Business Bureau, perhaps legal advice, and social media.

Jason and his team were fabulous: 1) Super timely - they got our job in less than a week end-to-end, including permits!

Chris was the person who came this time. Chris is a gentle giant, very friendly and approachable. Greeted me with a big smile and has great conversations. Very informative and taught me something new, how to save money on my bill with the fans. Also wanted to throw in there, he seems like a good driver. Haha

Outrageous pricing and gaslighting…read more I'll leave it to the reader to look at my quote images for just the HVAC Goodman components, and google their prices. On average I found it was at least half of what Sierra wanted to charge me. The need: Last winter I had gotten several quotes for replacing my aging furnace and adding AC. Most of the quotes were in the $14k range, with one quote dropping down to the $8k range. These were all homewise quotes (seems to be standard) I just wasn't ready at the time, since I needed my electrical panel replaced. The Draw: Saw the "$20,000? No way." ad on Facebook. Saw other ads saying, "Get it online just by answering a few questions!" Problem is you never get an instant quote. Instead you get someone calling your number in the next few days. I figured it'd be in range of the other quotes. I told the ladies on the phone what I would be looking to pay. Pulling the wool: Well besides no "instant online quote" someone was dispatched to my house. They were pleasant enough, but they kept trying to gaslight me. It's not easy to gaslight me. I know what these things cost from my day career in IT and Facilities work. I've had to get this type of equipment installed several times. I know the approximate cost of materials, labor, and what it *should* cost. The unexpected: Despite all of this expertise the guy sent to my house presented me with an offensively bad quote. They wanted to tear out all of my duct work, replacing it with flex duct. (Just last year it was camera inspected and I was shown it was fine) to the tune of $5,000. The Condenser, air handler, and furnace was $13k (as shown in the quote screenshot) The Gaslighting: This is where things too a big turn. I plainly told him, "We are not at the same place here, I'll have to pass" and I would expect at least some level of negotiation. "Well, I can drop the price to X" Instead it was "It's only $250 a month!" with no explanation of the terms/number of payments. $250@mo for 52 months? $250@mo until the balance is paid? My wife and I both have credit scores in the 800's. We're very good with our finances. "I had a guy quote me $8k last year" was passed off as impossible. No, it's not impossible in the dead of winter when AC installers are starved for work. Dear Reader, just google these components: 1-3 Ton 14.3 SEER2 R-32 single stage condenser unit-Goodman GLXS4BA3610 1-3 Ton 14.3 SEER2 R-32 upflow/horizontal evaporator coil-Aspen DE36D4D175R530 1-80% 60,000 BTU Up flow/horizontal single stage Low Nox gas furnace-Goodman GR9S800604BX Add up the price. It's not $13k. I also question the expertise here, as Low Nox is no longer acceptable for installs. BAAQMB has mandated Ultra Low Nox. Bad price, gaslighting, unnecessary work, and lacked knowledge of local regulations. I dodged a bullet. **Edit** Shortly after this review I got a call from Sierra, arguing over my review. I just hung up, then got a harassing text stating this was over "feelings" before blocking the number. The gist of my experience is there was expectations that were setup by the ads that were not met by the prices, expertise, or lack of professionalism.
