The cheese grits was not cheesy and both it and regular grits were visibly undercooked. There also was no butter for the grits or biscuits available. The manager was told but visibly seemed annoyed when the young clerk in the kitchen inquired regarding the butter. The smirk paid to her and me set me back. I purchased the breakfast anyway. Upon my second bite of the grits and eggs I crunched on a significant piece of egg shell. Okay, I took another bite and bit into another piece. As I am filling out this review I am still spitting out pieces of the egg shell. I hated to take the breakfast back but at the price I paid for it I feel my money could be spent cheaper somewhere else. I love Piggly Wiggly but I will not pay for slop. I know they can do better because I have bought their breakfast many times before and have not had any issues with the quality. Portions can sometimes be lacking but not an issue for me. My main concern is cleanliness and quality of the food I purchase. Management attention to care and training of its new employees in the kitchen would be a plus. To act indifferent to the employee and the customer is not an acceptable business practice.

The people that run this place are good local folks that care about their community, and they deserve your patronage. Part grocery, part knick-knack shop, part sporting goods store, part tavern, part boat repair shop, and part anything-else-you-might-need-in-this-part-of-the-world, I think it's fair to day that this store has been keeping locals fed and afloat for a long time. And I hope they continue to for many years to come.

The sandwiches were extremely dry and had a strange taste that made them inedible. I ended up throwing away an entire untouched tray, which was a complete waste of money. When I called to speak with a manager, I was placed on hold for about five minutes before a young employee answered and told me the manager was "busy in the back" but that she could help me instead. I explained the issues with the sandwiches and that I was throwing away the entire tray. Her response was simply, "I'm sorry," followed by essentially nothing else. No offer to replace the product, no refund, and no concern for customer satisfaction. When I asked who the manager was, I was told one manager is Mason and the "big manager" is Angelle, but Angelle only comes in twice a week. The entire conversation felt unprofessional and dismissive. To make matters worse, when I picked up my order, employees in the deli area were openly talking and laughing about something rotten in the cooler, discussing how bad it smelled and who was going to clean it up--all within earshot of customers. That is not something customers should have to hear while purchasing food. Between the poor food quality, lack of customer service, and unprofessional behavior, I will not be returning.
