My favorite place to pick up boiled crawfish! So grateful I live close by! Salty and spicy every time!

    Open on Sunday, woo hoo

Dennis' is a family run seafood market that has been in business since 1975. These neighborhood seafood markets are very special, and I hope the locals appreciate them. The stores are unique to coastal towns, but in New Orleans, they are at another level. Dennis' offer the fresh seafood you would expect, plus many authentic Louisiana specialties. Seafood gumbo, corn crab soup, crawfish pies, and stuffed artichokes are just a few examples. I especially like the way Dennis' prepares the boiled crawfish. They have the best seasoning; salty and flavored with just the right amount of spices. Dennis' is open on Sundays during crawfish season (January thru May), and they will package the goods to-go if you are traveling. I also tried their homemade tamales, and I thought they were excellent. The meat is a dense mixture that had good flavor and texture. It is wrapped in a thin layer of cornmeal. The sauce is tasty and has a little spiciness. I recommend giving the tamales a try.

I ordered for the first time today and I won't be back. I had heard good things about Dennis' Seafood. So I picked up a few pounds of boiled crawfish, potatoes, corn and sausage. They do not cook their potatoes, corn or sausage in the same boil - so not much flavor there. The corn was boiled in just water but it was good. I could've done without the bland potatoes. The crawfish we're awful. Most of them were dead (before they cooked them) and I found myself spitting them out. They don't use much seasoning, most of them tasted bland. It's the second time I've had them this season and I couldn't even finish them because they were so terrible. I wouldn't recommend getting them from here!

Consistently one of the best spots for boiled crawfish. I go out of my way for their seafood-the seasoning is salty but good.

The food here is pretty good, but don't try to split your bill cause it is a 20% charge and then 3% credit card charge so beware.

It teaches knife skills, safety, and you get to take your fresh fish home and cook a delicious meal with it. They also have a bar inside, of course it is New Orleans, and I got an espresso martini and it was quite good! So great fresh fish and cocktails! The fish class came with two large fish, you got to keep the knife, and learned skills. The lady monger demonstrated on her fish, and then watches you carefully, guiding you to ensure the best technique. There was about 4 people per cutting table and they also required use to wear apron and gloves. Don't feel intimidated because they are right there guiding, ensuring safety. It was a fun unique experience. Even if you know how to gut a fish, you may still learn something new! I have to come back and try some these fresh sandwiches or poboys. There is so much greatness here, you just have to swing by and check it out yourself!

The Good: The Staff was lovely and the Tostada was AMAZING!…read more The Bad: Everything else... Outside of the Tostadas, the food we had was shockingly bad. The fried "Captain's Platter" is $35, it's worth maybe $12. It was 4 shrimp, 4 oysters, and a decent sized piece of fish, all considerably over-fried, with fairly plain coleslaw and hushpuppies that looked like they had been cooking since the shift the day before. --- I honestly couldn't believe this was brought to the table, but it seemed normal so apparently that is how it is served there. It was VERY small and fairly overcooked. The boiled crabs were mush. Decent flavor, not great. Would not recommend. The charbroiled oysters again seemed to have been cooking for 3-4 times longer than they should have. They were rubber, flavorless and unappetizing to look at. They were pretty bad. - At least they were clean. I didn't get any shell. But I also didn't get any oyster in 1 of the 6 oysters served at $18. Then we got a Sausage Poboy. The sausage was decent, but the sandwich wasn't good. WHY WOULD YOU TOAST THE BREAD? NO ONE WANTS SAUSAGE BETWEEN TWO CROUTONS. Just kind of a weird mistake that makes you wonder if anyone there has tried to eat any of their own food. Because it's not easy... Honestly 90% of the food we got there was pretty bad. But we will be back for Tostada alone. That was phenomenal. 10/10 Delicious.

I was ready to cook Louisiana-style But the only places in San Diego where I could buy live crawfish and blue crabs in bulk were local Asian markets, which I tried, but I found that they generally carry tiny, hard-shelled crawfish and what in other places are referred to as "soup" crabs, ones so small that they add good flavor to stocks, but don't provide much of a meal. Then I called Louisiana's Best Seafood. This distributor, like many in the New Orleans area, has relationships with local shrimpers, crabbers and crawfish suppliers. What distinguishes Louisiana's Best Seafood is their willingness to work with long-distance customers on selection (not all shellfish are created equal, in size or "fullness"), price and the logistics of delivering dozens of pounds of perishable seafood. My "guy" at Louisiana's Best Seafood is Val Sevin, an old-school New Orleans gentleman and raconteur who will advise you, arrange a fair price with you, and ensure your seafood reaches you in the best possible condition. Need a sack of crawfish, some big, sweet shrimp or a few dozen live blue crabs? Let Louisiana's Best Seafood send you the best the Gulf Coast has to offer, overnight, for pickup at the Southwest Cargo Terminal at Lindbergh Field. There's just one thing they can't help with: you'll need a really big pot.

The crabs are very nice and fresh however the volume of the oysters was not acceptable, about 1/3 full at best. I texted them and spoke to John. John said to text a picture and he would discuss it with his manager. I did that and emailed John but the email address on the website doesn't work. I then emailed using the address on FaceBook and got no response. I posted on their FB page but they removed my post. The oysters are supplied to them by Genevieve's and the volume does not compare with the volume that I received from Terry's in Sulphur Springs.
