Came here with a friend to pick up some crawfish - they have to-go cooked crawfish only, in two different sizes (standard and premium), in one spice level. They also have all the sides including potatoes, sausages, mushrooms, garlic, corn, etc. Everyone behind the counter was so friendly and patient. We ended up ordering 8lbs of the premium size. Great crawfish! They were huge and spiced to perfection. Not so hot that the kids can't eat them, but enough to build a nice burn. I'm very picky that crawfish be purged well, which seems like a dying art these days, but these are well purged and boiled to absolute perfection. Sausage and potatoes also excellent--again, great flavor, but not overwhelmingly spicy like some places that leave the potatoes in forever. Easy to peel, very fresh, totally enjoyable! I gave one star because I had boiled crawfish shipped out twice, both times the shipments never made it to their destination, addresses given were correct. It was a Sunday a couple weeks back. I was on my way to get lunch and I saw a sign that said lobster dinner. I went in and inquired and the girl said I would have to order an hour in advance and it was too late today. It was 12;30 and they are open until 2. I think what she was saying if I want something that is easy to serve, like drop into in a bag and go she might be interested in serving me. I live right here in Ponchartrain Shores and I usually go to Michael's in Jefferson because they have a good product and more importantly will bend over backwards to serve the customer. The food here is pretty good,but don't try to split your bill cause it is a 20% charge and then 3% credit card charge so beware.

I try to support local, but I'm not a fan. Crawfish were subpar. Pretty dirty and a lot of heads only. On the salty side. Corn and potatoes were bland. Dennis' is a family run seafood market that has been in business since 1975. These neighborhood seafood markets are very special, and I hope the locals appreciate them. The stores are unique to coastal towns, but in New Orleans, they are at another level. Dennis' offer the fresh seafood you would expect, plus many authentic Louisiana specialties. Seafood gumbo, corn crab soup, crawfish pies, and stuffed artichokes are just a few examples. I especially like the way Dennis' prepares the boiled crawfish. They have the best seasoning; salty and flavored with just the right amount of spices. Dennis' is open on Sundays during crawfish season (January thru May), and they will package the goods to-go if you are traveling. I also tried their homemade tamales, and I thought they were excellent. The meat is a dense mixture that had good flavor and texture. It is wrapped in a thin layer of cornmeal. The sauce is tasty and has a little spiciness. I recommend giving the tamales a try. read more

I ordered for the first time today and I won't be back. I had heard good things about Dennis' Seafood. So I picked up a few pounds of boiled crawfish, potatoes, corn and sausage. They do not cook their potatoes, corn or sausage in the same boil - so not much flavor there. The corn was boiled in just water but it was good. I could've done without the bland potatoes. The crawfish we're awful. Most of them were dead (before they cooked them) and I found myself spitting them out. They don't use much seasoning, most of them tasted bland. It's the second time I've had them this season and I couldn't even finish them because they were so terrible. I wouldn't recommend getting them from here! read more

I picked up some crawfish, shrimp and corn on Friday afternoon, simply delicious! The crawfish were big and spiced perfectly! Not one had a straight tale! The shrimp so tasty and easy to peel. Both crawfish and shrimp had a hint of lemon (just enough). The corn not overly spicy and wonder combination of sweet corn and slight spice. Incredible! They know what they are doing! Dennis's also caters if you need an on site cater they will either boil or fry on site or bring the prepared seafood or fish to you. Stuffed artichoke are available by size. I absolutely love this seafood shop in the heart of Metairie. I ordered some crawfish on a Friday in Lent and the place was packed. They were super well organized and had maybe 6 people working behind the counter taking orders. You walk in and the fresh smell of seafood hits you with good feelings. You take a number that is located on the left of the store and wait. They have all kinds of stuff for sale like seafood gumbo, artichokes, raw fish, raw shrimp, etc. I purchased 5lbs of crawfish, sides of sausage, garlic, corn, mushrooms and a stuffed artichoke. I took it to go and ate near the Lakefront. The price is not the cheapest nor the most expensive. The size of the crawfish were a good size and had a spicy but not overly spicy flavor. None were small not did they have that fishy, unclean taste like Rouses crawfish does. I LOVED the sausage and the fact that you can purchase the garlic separately. It is alot of garlic, which makes me a happy girl! The stuffed artichoke was overly stuff and good, but a little too cumbly for my taste, I prefer a more moist stuffed artichoke, but it was still very good and I ate the whole thing. Love this seafood market. They have delicious already boiled crawfish and crabs. They have raw and cooked items. Everything tastes super fresh. Bought trout to make at home and they filet it for you. If i could ZERO stars i would. This was by FAR the most disgusting crawfish i have ever had in my life. First strike was alll of the food was cold. Fine, whatever. Next the crawfish was seasoned terribly. To best describe it it taste like Vienna sausages and hot sauce . We also ordered corn potatoes and sausage allllllllllll of it was trash. My favorite seafood place! Whether it is prepared foods or raw, I LOVE Dennis's seafood! I always get fish fillets, stuffed artichokes, shrimp salad, and a few frozen goodies. I wish the price of crawfish wasn't so high right now, but that isn't their fault. Dennis' has a pretty good mix of fresh seafood: shrimp, crabs, oysters, softshell crabs, a few different fish, scallops and crawfish. You can also get the crawfish, shrimp, and crabs already boiled. They also have a bunch of stuff premade: stuffed artichoke, gumbo, soups, tamales, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful, just make sure you take a number if it is crowded. When I went on Saturday, they were out of trout. I was really looking forward to trout and was disappointed, but I got red snapper and that suited me fine. The location is convenient because I can walk there from my gf's house. But the prices are a little high for my liking. I guess being from da parish made used to cheaper fresh seafood. read more

Great seafood market! We were told that everything is delivered in the morning so it's nice and fresh. They had a decent selection of fish/crabs/shrimp as well as premade soups and sides to buy to go. They also had boiled shrimp when we came. The boiled shrimp was a hit- lots of flavor and the shrimp were GIANT! The potato salad was also really good- I don't like my potato salad swimming in mayo and there was a good potato/mayo ratio plus boiled egg in there too! My dad loved the stuffed crab that we bought and then baked at home! The price for everything was super reasonable especially for the quality... the fish was anywhere from $7-12 a pound and big raw shrimp were $5-6 a pound. We will be back! read more

I go to Dennis' Seafood a few times a year, usually during crawfish season, as it is not close to me. Crawfish are delicious, well seasoned and boiled to perfection! The fixins are fabulous... ESPECIALLY the sausage!!!! I tried the shrimp salad this season for the first time and OMG!!!!! It was to die for!!! Tried the seafood gumbo. It was good, but not particularly how I like gumbo. I like a darker/richer roux. Had a good taste, though. Corn/crab soup was excellent!! Everything else I've tried was great! Definitely worth going out of your way for! Best crawfish in the Kenner/Metairie area hands down. Their crawfish are always seasoned to perfection. I love that they leave bits of celery from the boil in with the crawfish, it adds such a nice flavor profile. The crawfish deserves 5 Stars, the customer service however is a 4. They're usually pretty friendly here but sometimes I walk in and almost get the feeling that I'm either not welcomed, possibly being sized up, or there's a little attitude. There are always locals and regulars in here and I feel as though the staff will easily cater to & offer more attention to these versus new customers. I get it, after all, they've been here for years in a residential area. Other than that, if you want some of the best crawfish of your life, this is where it's at. read more
