Love this little spot in Boutte. I am a fan of grabbing something I need quickly, efficiently, and having it be of high quality. Hebert's checks all those boxes for me. Normally grab some stuff for the house but on this day just grabbed a couple hot boudin for a car ride. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful, and the price was just what I'd expect. Grabbed a pork boudin and a shrimp boudin. Both of them were cased perfectly and had excellent flavor. Both had a bit of a bite to them as far as spiciness, but I personally enjoy that. The pork had a great depth of flavor and the shrimp just tasted fresh and clean. I would get those again any day of the week. For hot food to go or seafood to make yourself at home, Hebert's is a winner. Extremely rude people working here that don't mind insulting their customers. Last time i came in this place, years ago, i asked if I could taste a crawfish to make sure it wasn't too salty. the response by the cashier was " absolutely not. If I let everyone who came in here, have a taste, I wouldn't have anything to sell!" I'm talking about ONE crawfish!! I was completely shocked at the rudeness and the tone of her response. completely uncalled for. I see other posts here more or less saying this is common rudeness by the management here. These are the most helpful and professional folks in the business. I am never disappointed with their seafood. I bought a hamper of live crabs 2 weekends in a row. They are my go to for live seafood. Their prices are competitive but the quality and freshness of the seafood is impeccable and impressive. I'll never buy seafood anywhere else. Traveled from New Iberia to Covington this past Saturday, 3/13/2021 to attend a crawfish boil. Wanted to bring a half sack of oysters to shuck as appetizers. My usual source in Berwick were out and my next source in Houma is closed on Saturday. Found Hebert's Seafood searching the internet along my path of travel and turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. Located just past the 310 turn off on HWY 90, so I didn't even have to detour! Some of the prettiest and tastiest oysters I have had in years. Primarily medium size, but a nice mix of small and large to satisfy everyone's preference. Will definitely be back!!! read more

Last weekend went into Hebert to order seafood, and cashier working the register intervened into a conversation between me and the person I was with. She totally butted into a conversation that she knew nothing about nor, was asked for her opinion. She was loud and abrupt, and made comments that were totally irrelevant to the conversation. This where I go for all my seafood needs! You can get boiled and/or live. The boiled crawfish are amazing. They have a bit of spice to them which is fine by me! The potatoes, corn, sausage and mushrooms are sold separately and are well worth it. The crabs are always full and every time I ask for a female it is full of eggs. What's better than that? The crawfish boudin is out of this world. They also have coolers with crabmeat, different types of sausage, tamales, and much more. It's family owned and operated which makes it even more inviting. I must mention that if you're in the area and someone suggests that you get seafood at Irene's, this is where they're sending you. Mrs. Irene, who has now passed on, is they lady that ran it. The locals know Hebert's as Irene's. There are no table's at Irene's, so all orders are to go. Also, be careful in the parking lot. The parking lot is small and the place stays busy. My boyfriend & I are new to the area, so we are always visiting local eateries to get to know our new city. We've been to Hebert's twice, on a whim, to get 10-15 lbs. of boiled crawfish on a Friday night. Sometimes the urge to have crawfish hits, and Hebert's was the only one had some fresh boiled & hot crawfish available right then. Both times, they were sooo delicious! Salty like I like them and spicy like my boyfriend likes them. Parking can be hard on a popular night, but otherwise, we have no complaints. The people working have been so nice & accommodating! Long line but moved quickly. Boiled Crawfish small/medium for $5.49 lb. best price I found. Crawfish were seasoned good but the sides-corn, potatoes, and garlic were all a little bland. When I called for pricing, they recommended I put in an order to be ready when I arrived to make sure I would get what I wanted. I also ordered two links of alligator sausage that was ok, again, it seems like the sides aren't seasoned well. We ordered 2 dozen medium priced crabs for Friday. Place was very crowded with a long line, after waiting in line about 25 minutes we noticed that a lady got out of line and went to the counter to be waited on. My wife asked why she broke line and the person behind the counter who said that she was the owner hollered that "it's my business and I can wait on who I want". I don't think that the other people waiting in line appreciated this attitude, I didn't. Also when we asked about the crabs we were told that they were full, this was not the case. Out of the 14 crabs eaten 10 were "Floaters". Not only did we have to endure bad service, we were misled about the seafood. I won't be going back. read more

5/29 I haven't been here in over a year, I remember Hebert's had one of the best most flavorful boils I've ever had. NOT TODAY !!! I bought 15#'s of crawfish and 2#'s of boiled shrimp, the shrimp were over cooked, mostly mushy and impossible to peel, and the crawfish were some of the worst I've ever had, it tasted like over salted mud with a hint of spice. I don't know if they changed owners or the younger generation just ain't got the same passion for boiling, but it was terrible! Not even mediocre. sorry folks won't be back, on 5/29/2016 at 3:50 pm your efforts were not up to expectations and I'm sorry to say that we're breaking up for good.
