I took my husbands '97 4runner to inspect his broken AC (he had taken it to a major chain auto shop and was quoted almost $2k because his "entire AC system needed to be replaced"). From the initial setting up of the appointment to being shown what the problem of the car actually was and getting quoted for it, everything was smooth, easy, and really professional. Bryon made me feel like our car was in good hands, and he took the time to show me exactly what the problem was (well enough that I was able to explain it to my husband when I got home!). The quote he gave us was only about a quarter of what the major chain quoted us! He ordered the parts for us and we set an appt for a few days later when the parts would come in, and the car's AC was restored to its beautiful chilliness. Greatest customer service and honesty - did repairs to fix check engine light and after 3 months the check engine light came back on - rechecked and stated that they may have found the problem but since they were not 100% sure it would resolve issue - installed the new sensor- said to drive the car for a couple of weeks to make sure it resolved the problem before paying and if it did not fix the problem- would be No charge The fix resolved the problem but it shows how much they really care about customers-any places would have charged and not wait until the issue was fully resolved Best place to take your vehicle for service - repairs read more

Had some more work done on my car today. I brought my own parts for the repair; motors for my power windows I ordered on Amazon because they were literally 20% the cost of what Bryon could get them for. So I just paid the labor, but that's the only way they make their money anyway, so it makes no difference to them, as long as you bring good parts of course. I also had new brake pads installed for the front, and the rear brakes adjusted. So nice they don't squeak anymore! And my windows are so nice and smooth now, kinda feels like driving a new car after everything they did today, ha. It always sucks to have a repair done on your car, since it's never an anticipated expense, and including the parts I brought I spent a total of $478 today, kind of a bummer, but I'm glad it was at a mechanic I trust to do the job right. My front bumper was recently caught on a rock between a curb and it caused damage to the bottom of my front bumper, like the plastic underneath you can't see, totally cosmetic, except that bent plastic was going to keep catching, and I really wanted to find a solution to keep that from happening. Me and Bryon brainstormed and he ended up drilling a hole in the plastic underneath and using a zip tie to secure the plastic so it won't be hanging down! It only took him a few minutes, but I greatly appreciate that they do things like this, it really makes all the difference in the world. A few months ago I had my door check replaced because my driver door kept swinging open and it was a huge pain in the ass worrying if it was going to swing into the car next to me, especially when my hands were full! While they did that work they took the liberty of attempting to glue part of my door where the plastic had cracked, and I was thrilled about that too. Because it would rattle when I would have my music up loud due to the bass! It was such a simple and thoughtful gesture. These guys really go above and beyond, and I'm so thankful to have found them. They really earn their customer loyalty and all these glowing reviews. I told someone about where I take my car and they were like "that's far".... ha... half hour drive for an amazing mechanic? That's NOTHING. I would drive two hours if I had to, but then I wouldn't be able to bug them as often, ha. People taking their car to the random guy around the corner, now that's stupid. Still the best place. I came here for an oil change and to find out if something was wrong with my car because when I stepped on the gas sometimes it wouldn't go. He was honest. He drove it around. Didn't find any problem so he didn't charge me. He has good communication and calls you to let you know what's going on. He is very nice man. Reasonable prices. Honest work. I brought my wife's car in too for an oil change and to find out about the AC. It was blowing out hot air. He found 2 leaks. Fixed it and refilled it for a good price. WOW. I have always had a negative perspective on mechanics because I felt they always wanted to cheat me, over charge and be dishonest. B and D Auto Repair has changed that. From the timeliness, to how courteous, and fair priced the work they did. I cannot praised them enough. I was having issues with my car, sent them a message through Yelp and received a response not 10 minutes later. Then Bryon allowed me to bring in my car the same day after 1pm, I informed him that was a bit of a tight timeline for me as I had to go to work. HE said no worries, bring it in earlier so you do not have to stress having to be at work on time ! (I KNOW, super nice !) Sooo I brought my car in a bit early, he explained what steps he was going to take to find my cars issue and proceeded to to inform me that he would call me later that SAME day. (Again, I know. Awesome) So then, I further complicate communication for him because I travel for work and asked him to maintain communication with my boyfriend because I would be on a work trip for the next 3 days. He called me on my way to the airport at about 2:45 THAT SAME DAY with the issue my car had and what my options were to fix it. ( I KNOW, I KNOW. AWESOME) He also called me AND my boyfriend. So, basically my cars issue was fixed with $50.00 within 2 days. I informed Bryon my plans to drive the car up to SF and he said they would inspect the car and informed me of what they thought should be fixed, could be fixed, and no pressure on any of it. Sooo I proceeded to additionally fixed my windshield wipers, serpentine belt and my cabin filter aside from my cars issue. ALL that work, for $200.00 and done within 2 days. AND they topped off ALL of my car fluids at no additional cost, ( I KNOW, super awesome) So all in all, my experience with B and D auto and the owner Bryon was exceptional. OK, so first I called and asked for some quotes on some services that the dealership recommended I perform. The nice guy at B&D, after giving me the quotes (which btw, were practically half of what Toyota quoted me, even with their "specials"), asked me my mileage and recommended 1) that I didn't even need those services yet based on the manufacturer's recommendations and 2) to just wait until the next major scheduled service and have them rolled into that b/c most of them were included! That was certainly welcome news. They were about to close on a Saturday afternoon so I said I'd call back to schedule a look at my squeaky brakes b/c they told me they might just need to be cleaned, not replaced. So today, almost a month later, I finally got a chance to call back and ask when would be a good time to bring my car in. They said, "How about now?" So I threw both kids in the car w/bubble wands and they checked the brakes (turned out I did need the rear brakes & rotors) while I used their free wi-fi and the kids played w/bubbles and watched their satellite TV. AND they only charged me $245+tax instead of the $490 Toyota quoted me. All the mechanics were very courteous and helpful and I really felt like I wasn't get ripped off...I'll be back! read more
