The steaks we bought were excellent quality too, they were tender, fresh, and cooked up beautifully at home. I've seen the sign for B & D Custom Meats but I never had the chance to stop. I saw them at an event at the fairgrounds where they had the best jerky so I finally stopped in. Their pork chops are so good and ribeye steaks were delicious and tender-had to cut off a bit of fat but will do for the price. They have fun frozen seafood in small batches so you can use in one meal. Service is good, market is clean and well organized. Some things don't have prices which makes it hard to ask when it's busy. I like supporting our local meat market. Don't forget some jerky!! It's super tasty with tons of flavors. Will definitely be back. read more

I found B&D while walking around to see what was near the RV park besides other RV parks. While I don't have a cow waiting to be cut into steaks and chops, I was happy to peruse their selection of snackable meats, cheese and jerky. All very reasonably priced. I bought a few items and then asked for tastes on the spicy jerky. I expected the usual micro-tastes, the size of a nickel, but their samples were very substantial. I'm partial to hot, so I tried the habanero first - excellent. The sign said that Carolina Reaper was the hottest. Whoa! I had to buy a soda fast and it took an hour for the taste buds to calm down. I bought the habanero. This definitely is a few notches above the Trader Joe's and supermarket Jerk. At $20/lb, I'll be stocking up on the other flavors on the way out. read more

Cutest meat shop in Southern Oregon. Now, it's taken us over a year to get in here! Every time we're in Oregon, after visiting the safari, they're closed. But not this day! We parked and happily hopped in the socially distanced-enough line that snaked out the door. This day, we were getting jerky! Once inside, it was a flurry of meats and treats and sweet Oregonians ordering their holiday proteins. There was quite the selection of jerky to choose from so we did just that. Get the garlic pepper jalapeño teriyaki or whatever, sorry Bart if I "butchered" the name , but it's amazing. Want to hear the saddest part? The dog stole the bag when we weren't looking and ate what we had left, plastic and all! Guess I'll have to wait another year! This has happened twice now. I go in and ask for a certain poundage of tri tip "trimmed". So i expect fat to be trimmed off it. Today i went in and asked for a 4lb tri tip. I saw there was some fat on it when i purchased it thought, well it must be a thin layer since i asked then to trim it... i got home and seasoned it for tomorrow's dinner and there was 32oz if fat on a 4lb tri tip!!! (That's half the overall weight.... maybe they didn't hear me but when i pay for FOUR POUNDS of meat i expect there to be somewhere close to 4 lbs, maybe even 3.5 lbs but not TWO!!! Hoping this was an error or miscommunication will be calling tomorrow. read more
