I had a Bacon Lettuce Tomato sandwich(BLT)with pickle and pepper on the side, it was the best BLT I have had in a long time and came with soda and chips for $9 can't beat that. I stopped for gas in Southerlin, and realized that I was hungry. I always enjoy trying local places, and this place was almost directly across the road from the gas station. What the heck, let's give it a try. They have a large menu, with hot sammiches and cold sammiches, soups, wraps, what have you. They also had a good beer selection but since I was on the scoot I grabbed a Coke instead to go with my ham and salami sammich. It was good. Really good. The pickle that came with it was that old-school deli pickle, and it also came with a bag of chips. Staff was friendly and the food came out quick. No TVs, the place was clean and bright, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Great place to stop in if you're on the road. read more

We stopped here on the way to Medford from Portland for a soccer game. I had the Rueben, my kid had turkey and cheddar. DON'T GO INTO THE MINI MART. SERIOUSLY. See why after the review of the Deli. The sandwiches are really good. The deli staff was courteous and efficient. We had the BBQ beef and a Rueben. The side pickles are a bit thicker than what you'd get by running a potato peeler. I'd recommend they shift to a single quarter or sixth pickle instead of two to 3 shavings. Had to take off one star for the pickles and no AC. It was a 100 degree day, and it had to be 86 degrees waiting for our food. We shifted from dining in to taking it to our hotel room. Now for what you came for. I went in to the mini mart to grab some snacks and drinks for our continued travels tomorrow. While I was in there, the kid behind the counter allowed two people without masks to patronize the establishment. One gave a weak ass excuse. It's the law, people. Get your shit together. What a blast from the past! Business meeting with a friend/former co-worker and we decided to come back to one of our old stomping ground locations.....so glad we did! Same look and is an excellent sandwich joint. No if and or but about it they have a great selection and quality ingredients. I had the club and it was awesome! Great flavor and made to order just how I liked it. Sides can be a good variety of chips or they have fries, soups, etc. Plenty of drinks to choose from including a selection of fountain drinks to all sorts of bottled beverages. One of the stand out new features they have about a half dozen different types of beer on tap. Awesome addition to an already great establishment. Of course we had to go with our old stand by and pick a set of Keno #'s to play while we were sitting there. We were quickly reminded as to why we always left so fast once our final Keno draw came up...it's really painful watching your numbers come up the next draw that you aren't playing. So glad we stopped back in here....and so glad to see that same dedication to customer service and quality. Just driving through town and wanted to support local. This place did not disappoint! We were wondering what was taking so long (waited about 15 min) but then we found out... Fresh hot sandwich (my daughter got a fresh cold one) with fab ingredients (amazing bread, just the right ratios, they even peeled the cucumbers!) made with love! As I pulled into the parking lot of McDonald's to satisfy the cry's of starvation from the kids while on our road trip, I was excited to see this Deli on the opposite side of the lot! I was so tired of McDonald's on this vacation. While 5 or our group went into McDonald's, two of us went to this Deli. I ordered a tuna sandwich and onion rings and my mother ordered a French dip and onion rings, to go. What a mistake! We should have gone to McDonald's. The ordering process was easy, but the cashier seemed to being have a bad day from the onset of our exchange. Sadly, her behavior was so rude when I had the temerity to verify the order. Sorry for ensuring the food I ordered was in the bag... The Tuna was sweet, otherwise fine. Both orders of onion rings were uncooked, doughy and tasteless. Seemed the orders of onion rings were thrown into the deep fryer for 30 seconds. Had to Throw both orders in the trash. The French dip meat was over cooked and dry. Incidentally the dipping sauce was missing from the bag... Very disappointing read more

Stopped through this town to get some food and gas. My food options were all fast food (Taco hell) Considering my options I Was pleasantly surprised. The food was good. I ordered the Reuben on marbled rye. Everything comes with a pickle and bag of chips. Its a local spot. Would definitely recommend eating here rather then the other options! read more

We were on the road and stopped in this town to find gas, fast food, and a bathroom. This deli is located in the same parking lot area as McDs. We NEVER do fast food unless we are on the road.. get in and get out. Yet, there was this wonderful little deli with REAL type food vs. McDs. And, it was local. We really like to do the local thing whenever we can. So we did. We ordered a great chicken sandwich in a ciabatta type roll. They DID have some different choices on fries so we got their waffle fries. And it was quick and the price was competitive with McDs. Frankly, it was the least guilty thing I ate on the road, not to mention supporting a local mom and pop deli. Tasted even better because of that. read more

I may have moved out of Sutherlin close to 10 years ago, but I still crave the chicken sandwich at Smitty's! It's really a very simple sandwich and something I feel I should be able to make at home, but no matter how many times I try to, I can't even come close. The bread is perfectly toasted and buttery, the chicken is moist, and the swiss is like the holy priest who marries these two gastronomic lovebirds. It's perfect. Just thinking about it now makes me look forward to my upcoming trip. Horrible customer service! I came in today for the first time and asked the short heavy set lady if they have any spicy subs to which she just kept saying look at the menu. I said well do you have anything like a spicy italian(like Subway has) and she said again to look at the menu. So I said ok never mind and left.
