I saw this deli on Yelp and knew I had to give it a whirl. Bob's Deli did not disappoint. The deli is next door to Level Up Frozen Yogurt. I read there are new owners as of January 2023. They are doing a great job to make good food. They also have brought in specialty beers that are hard to find in Roseburg from Germany and Scotland as well as New York, Virginia and Portland. You come in the front door and see the menu boards and someone greeting you & ready to help. There are lots of special sandwiches and, also, build your own. There is a wooden box with two forms for you to fill out. The first for a Build your Own with choices of bread, meat, cheese, condiments, etc. The second is for paninis with choice for what kind you want. Luckily, the person behind the counter was kind enough to help me decide. The sandwiches came out on a dark pumpernickel rye with a good portion of pastrami. It's not NYC thick but prices are gray and it's plenty for me. Besides, if it's too thick, I would always remove half to make another sandwich. And, it came with a pickle. Is it even a deli of it doesn't serve a pickle with a sandwich?? Ambiance is a deli meets c-store. They have a small selection of food items to buy as well as drinks. They've reorganized to keep the traditional stock, as well as, to hold more out-of-town style products. I didn't look but it would be great if they sold their dark bread there! Wow, wish I could give this place 10 stars. Been coming here decades and always amazing. They understand, that people do not mind paying a tad more. To get more for what you pay for. This place reminds me of old sandwich shops. If they ever changed the way the operate, Id stop going as they are the best. Because they stay true to their customers and go there. Another great meal @ Bob's Deli ! It was great to see several new & beautiful wooden tables with comfortable cushioned chairs that replaced two seater bar tables and stools! They can now fit more than double what they were able to before. I haven't been here for a while so it was also nice to see Morgan again! She's been working here since I've enjoyed their hot breakfast and lunch meals for over a year now. Dine in or take out. If you're dining in, they bring your order to your table. They use the freshest ingredients to make their unique sandwiches and paninis. I switched it up today and ordered a simple salad with tasty Caesar dressing. Solid lunch spot. Only giving this a 3 instead of a 4 cause it's my first time and the cowboy was just ok when I was hoping for a yee-ha..killer sando. Would def give them another try. I look forward to eating here about as much as the taco truck. (That's for another day). Yummy! We came on a whim to have a little something to hold us over until dinner and we're so happy we did. I had the club which was exquisite, it had tons of Turkey and the bacon was perfectly crispy. I ordered it on sourdough and gave only 4 stars because the bread was a bit hard, like day old bread. My husband had the bomb digity panini which was great and had the right amount of horseradish. My MIL had the Hawaiian and she loved it! She said ot was creamy and delicious. I'm probably going to get it next because she raved! Service was excellent. Very nice local deli. Easy to get to from I-5. I had the grinder, basically an Italian sub, but add pesto. Thought that was a nice twist! They have amazing pickles and will give you extra if you ask nice! My sub was messy bc they stuffed it full of meats and cheese and veggies......well done! They also have a bunch of chips (bigger bags than you would expect) and candy and as many drinks as a convience store. Good bathroom (in case this is your food and pit stop while transiting I-5).
