I was having trouble with my old Mazda farm truck. B&E Auto was highly recommended as I was looking for an honest service place that wouldn't take advantage of an older lady. I have been taken advantage many times by other businesses in the past. So I took the jump. I was very impressed with the lobby, very homey and comfortable, and, the very courteous greeting I received from the front desk. I explained my problem and the mechanic took it for a test drive to see what was wrong. My problem was fixed and I was on my way. This is my first time using B&E, however my sister has raved about them for years. Was told by another mechanic I needed an alternator. So I took the vehicle to B&E. They tested it and told me I did not need an alternator that I needed to drive the car more. The car hadn't been driven in 2 months. I appreciate the honesty and integrity this company has. I get to Tucker a few times a month. After visiting friends one night, my 95 T-Bird wouldn't start. Thought it was the starter. I had someone take a look at it the next day; engine was turning over but wouldn't start. Suggested I contact a local repair shop. I came across great B&E reviews through Yelp, and after dealing with 45 years of car repairs, I had a good feeling about the shop. Had it towed in late in the afternoon. Spoke with Eddie, who said that they would most likely get to the car the next morning. Got a call at 9:30 am. Engine had gotten flooded (through not running it long enough after a cold start on a very cold day). Eddie thoroughly explained the repair (all sensors were good, no computer codes stored), even looked at a spark plug (which was not wet). Now starts as good as it did beforehand. An "unethical" shop could have up sold me a sensor or two, or more. B&E is definitely my go-to shop when I'm in the area. Knowledgeable and friendly service! read more

Hard to find a good mechanic, but this place seems legit. I've had my wife's car serviced here numerous times, and it 's always cheaper than the dealership. The owner pays to have his mechanics certified and it shows. This mechanic came recommended by one of my neighbors who is from the area, and just today he had his wife's car towed there when he couldn't fix the problem. This business is well respected in the neighborhood. No pressure here to get services that are not immediately needed. We've been recommended to have service when we need it, and not necessarily when we are doing other service here. I respect that. Honest people with honest prices and a gem for the community. They are not open on the weekends, which is a bummer, but if you can schedule it ahead of time during the week, it's worth the hassle. This is a business that respects it's customers, and it's employees. Pretty rare in this day and age. read more

I was having an issue and posted a message on a neighborhood message board asking where I should go. This place got a couple of recommendations. At first, I was going to give them 3 stars because while they were what I considered a fair price (hey, I know enough about cars to not get screwed), I didn't like that they charged me $80 to hook the computer up to get the error code when I had already been to Advance Auto who does it for FREE. Besides that, most places waive that fee if you get your car fixed there...so, that was annoying. Then 2 days later, the check engine light comes on again. I was about to lose my mind because I had just been there but they ended up only charging me for the part for that and not any of the labor. It was not the same issue as it had been a couple of days previous so they redeemed themselves. The drawbacks are that they are not open very late (6) and aren't open on the weekends so you need to coordinate rides and what not which is not that big of a deal but a lot of people are used to places that are open longer or on Saturdays. read more

This place was recommended by my neighbor when I told him I needed a good mechanic that wouldn't nickle and dime me and could take care of regular maintenance for my 2005 Hyundai. I've been burned by a lot of mechanics in the past, so I was skeptical. I was really impressed with the service and price I got for my first service, so I've been going back since - for a year now. The only thing I don't like is that they are not open on weekends and they don't offer a shuttle, so when I need work done I have to spend another $50 for a rental car because I can't be without a car for an entire day. It helps to get a lot of work done at one time because of this. read more

June/ July 2012- Had some work done elsewhere (more convenient) B&E verified some of the work and not others. They fixed outstanding issues with awesomeness. July- my car was almost overheating in the 107 degree heat and AC just wasn't doing it. Got my car checked out and I had the oddest issue they had encountered in a a while. They got it fixed and running in no time flat and the fees were totally reasonable. July 2011 -I was sent here by a friend who found them via Angie's List after I was burned by a couple of other shops. They were brusque, but told me what was wrong. They explained what needed to be done in a non-condescending way. The actual cost ended up being $1029.00, I was quoted closer to $1100.00. I was happy with that. I've NEEVR had the actual come in lower than the quote. They found parts for less than they thought and passed it on to me. They had to keep the car overnight, but kept me updated as to estimated time of finishing- that part DID take a few hours longer than anticipated. They aren't open evenings or weekends, which is too bad, but I get it. Neither is my job. The shop is neat and clean. The waiting room is open, but isn't anything to write home about. I'd walk next door to Shorty's for a beer and a slice of pizza. All in all, I am happy with my experience and will be going back. So will my husband. read more

I got referred here when looking for a good mechanic for my 85 El Camino. This guys are awesome. they've fix my car up and kept her going for a few years now and they've always done a great job. They've never tried to upsell me on any unnecessary parts unlike a few other shops i went to, who upon seeing a chick with an old car starting making stuff up thing we were idiots.
