I usually go to True Automotive for oil changes because I like the coupon. I do not like the upsale that I generally receive. During my oil change today, I learned that the coupon price does not include "shop fees" or the fee to manage the used oil which were added to my bill. They also quoted me $20 to change a license plant light bulb which I agreed to do but charged me an additional $5 for the light bulb. They also quoted me $300 for a new serintine belt due to the lack of mention on my history. I called Six Star who performs work on my car and they said last inspection showed I did not need one and if I did, they charge around $135. In summary, their coupon prices are not real and I don't plan to go there again. read more

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE. This was, without exaggeration, one of the WORST customer service experiences I have ever had. About two weeks ago I went to the shop in need of a repair for which a part needed to be ordered for my car. Wesley at the front desk informed me that I would need to pay half of the total price for deposit which was fine, then proceeded to enter into the computer the full price of the job for work that had not been rendered. He told me verbally that he would make sure it was voided, however later in the evening he informed me that his manager Spencer made a change to which I was charged the full price of 600$ for a job that had not been completed. Over the next two weeks I called and texted and reached out about updates on the part being delivered for my car to which responses were slow and dismissive (probably because they already had all my money) . Some individuals I spoke to over the phone about the order were not even aware of the timeline of my order. Ultimately, I went in on Saturday to just pick up the part and take my business elsewhere and obtain a refund for services not rendered to which Wesley told me a refund can not be done until Monday when Spencer is present despite me being wrongly charged for two weeks. As someone who hates to leave negative reviews, please take it from me you are better off taking your business elsewhere if you value accountability, accuracy, and basic respect delivered to you as a paying customer. read more

Today I took my car there to deal with a check engine light issue related to coolant level. They checked the issue, confirmed I did not have a coolant leak and added coolant. All with no charge! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIRS. I'd rate a zero if I could. Brought my car in for an oil change (was told they had plenty of times available when I called in) to be told it would be an hour and a half wait since they include a "free" diagnostic. Upon completion, I was told I had over $4200 worth of work that needed to be done asap including CV Axle replacement & Suspension shock replacement. After bringing to my private mechanic, he explained the axle crack was tiny and wouldn't need replacement for quite some time and the suspension shock replacement was total BS charge. There prices are ridiculously high-I was quoted $1159 for CV axle removal/replacement and my private mechanic told me it would be under $450! Find a private mechanic who is honest and fair like I did. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They tried to massively overcharge me on two separate occasions. Two years ago, I took my car in to have the serpentine belt on my car replaced. It was an arm and a leg, but I paid it anyway despite my suspicions.The squealing noise was even worse when I went to pick it up. I took it back in after two days because the noise was unbearable. I got a call a few hours later, the guy on the phone told me very solemnly that it was my alternator was shot and I would need to have it replaced to the tune of over $1000. I called bullshit, there were no electrical issues and I knew it wasn't an alternator problem. I told him to check the serpentine belt his men installed and call me back because that there was no way I was paying for an alternator. He called me back an hour later very sheepishly to tell me the belt had been installed wrong and that they would use the warranty on it to replace it again for free. Obviously I was pretty upset because if I had known less about the model of car I had, they would have charged me over a grand to "fix" a non existent problem while ignoring the problem they created by doing the job wrong. I picked my car up and swore never to go back. This past week, I was hearing some weird noises under the hood and decided it was time to take it in. It was the week of Christmas, so the shop I usually went to was closed. I was concerned enough that I decided to go back to True Automotive because it is within walking distance of my house and I didn't have a good alternative at the time. They told me I had a coolant leak and that they needed to replace one of the hoses. For $800. I told them there was absolutely no way I was paying $800 for one hose and came to get my car. I waited until my usual mechanic opened up and took it in there. After parts and labor he charged me $250. I spoke to a number of my friends who live in the same neighborhood and I found two other people who had similar experiences with them - massive over charging and poor service. As far as I can tell, True Automotive's business model seems to rely on their customers not knowing enough about cars to realize they are being massively ripped off. Do not go here at any cost. They will invent problems that don't exist, do the job wrong, and try to up-charge you like crazy. read more

Oil service and inspection. Technician Brandon revealed the left rear CV Joint had boots on both ends that had worn through and were slinging grease. This was rectified, with orginal parts after the oil service was completed. I am happy. I've had my car serviced there a number of times and each time I found the people genuine, sincere in making the customer happy and fixing the issues to a high professional standard. Every time I come here, the service is great and super quick. I always feel that the shop is very reliable and honest.

They kept our car for four months outside in the sun. They quoted us for $1200 and two months into the service. They called us and said that it's another issue then "told us" about this issue and how it could potentially cost more, but they actually never did. They threatened to pull the call records and once they did, they called us back, apologizing, saying they were in the wrong We agreed to the payment increase of $250 even though they said on paper it would cost $1200. They also would never call us. We would have to call just to check on the car EVERY single week! very poor customer service very poor management. The kicker? The problem still exists, and our car is sun damaged and has roots and what looks to be rat shiz or something dirty in the engine bay? They cleaned the engine bay before giving us the car back? TRUE Automotive was the very nicest experience I've had in all of my years of car ownership, and I've had a few very good mechanics over the years! This is literally the cleanest car repair shop I've ever found, the front entrance and waiting area is really nice and comfortable. I was greeted by Eric, who is very friendly and communicative, and during the time I was there, I met another staff member who was also really warm and friendly. There was great music playing, and no blaring TV (hate those!), in this room. My car will be needing some new things as it's getting older, and Eric went over those with me, along with recommendations of timing, plus sent me the list by email for future reference. I also met another customer, who told me how much she really likes this place, and how healing it is to go to a business that does this kind of service and have such a great experience. When I checked out I was so aggravated I forgot the coupon and they sure didn't mention it! My Equinox needed front end suspension work done and True Automotive did a great job. They also recharged the Freon in the A/C system. It now works great. However, I was told I needed a new battery and the mechanic put in the wrong type of battery. The battery bracket was also damaged causing the electronic control module to fit improperly on top of the battery. I had to take the Equinox to a local Chevrolet Dealer in order to have the battery problem repaired. Basically, the service writers do not ensure the repairs are performed properly. You have to do that yourself. It is a very busy garage and the average wait time for repairs is one week. Remember, you have to check out your car yourself to make sure the repairs are done correctly. read more

I reached out to TRUE a little over a month ago online, requesting a price for an oil change, automatic transmission drain and refill, and front and rear differential drain and refills. This was for a vehicle I recently purchased and didn't have all of its service history, so I assumed the fluids hadn't been replaced. Most owners don't do the transmission and definitely not the differentials. I got a reply back asking me to bring it in so they can schedule a time to do a diagnostic. I replied back asking what they meant, there's nothing to diagnose, I just wanted the fluids replaced. That went unanswered for a little over a week so I responded again, asking if this was work that they even did or if they were interested in doing it because I was ready to have it done. No reply. I can understand that this may not be work that they do, but they could have responded that they didn't do that kind of work or weren't interested in it, or even a 'go to hell', any kind of response other than just ignoring me. Went to True Automotive 8/31/2022 on DeKalb Industrial Way. My advisor was Eric McGuire and the Tech was Chris Hovatler according to paperwork. Was advised that I need a power steering pump on my 2009 Mercedes ML 350 this shop was closer to my office than Mercedes in Roswell I took it to them. *I had a maintenance warranty and they were supposed to replace the power steering pump another shop had recommended I replace it. I thought they made new parts replacement, at least that is what they charged my warranty company for in 2022. *Shortly afterwards my ac started blowing hot air the next summer 2023 I took it to two AC companies for diagnosis they said I needed to clean the area and they ensured me it needed a compressor. I kept having to purchase power steering fluid because I kept hearing a noise when I tried to turn steering. *Went to a shop recently to get oil change and they recommended a diagnostic and actually showed me the leak they discovered it revealed there was power steering fluid leaking from the pump on the AC which killed the compressor. They looked up my car fax and told me to take it back to TRUE. I did they wanted me to pay them for a diagnosis after they had the car on the lift instead of seeing if the power steering pump was leaking telling me that the other shop was probably wrong. The shop EURO FED only looked up what repairs I had after their diagnosis. My part is under warranty and TRUE AUTOMOTIVE does not want to warrant their work. *I just make a compliant even though they (TRUE) is not on the BBB and they have other complaints on the site by frustrated clients two this year don't know if they had mechanic problems or management problems but they have become irresponsible looks like it is hit or miss with them and their values with their work since 2021. The way they are treating me me is crazy I thought they would become my shop but never now and I advise anyone else to beware. Being I am still under warranty for their work makes me afraid to go back to them to correct their damage because now they are responsible for the power steering and they need to also repair my ac which had no problems prior to them getting under my hood. I took my car to Mercedes Benz prior to trying to have them become my selected repair facility as I tried to not drive as far from my job. I am also calling better call Harry on them. Posting their treatment to every site I can and calling the attorney general's office and my warranty company in case they want to sue True Automotive DeKalb because I am not going to continue to let them run me around in circles because they do not want to accept responsibility and tear my car completely up in the meantime. This simple procedure led me to having one of the most positive experiences working with mechanics in my entire life! The clear documentation of what was wrong with my car along with pictures made it clear why some additional services were needed. Not "oh this is dirty" but rather, "look there's a hole in a coupling in the exhaust." Eric M was incredibly easy to work with and the mechanics clear documentation of findings instilled a lot of confidence in the employees and their work. I was told that I would be receiving a rundown of the inspection that was given to my vehicle, however I received nothing. I was charged $170 to run a test on my air conditioning unit just to say it was broken, I'm new to the city, and when I took it to a second place they couldn't believe I was charged what I was to have the diagnostic run. They did it for free for a second opinion and actually gave me a list of information for maintenance my vehicle needed. Quantum Mechanics has a nice shop, they even gave me a ride around the corner to my office, however they were no real help when it came to my vehicle. read more

Very disappointing service my first visit. I cannot speak for the work they do or their technicians competency but I can say I received very poor service. Had to make an appointment for a simple oil change a few days out. As promised I brought the car in as agree about 830 am. The front desk people seem nice but pulled in many directions. The gent wanted me to leave the car which I agreed but I needed a pick up time estimate. He said "no later than noon". But he would call me when ready. Perfect I thought. At 1pm. No call yet so I called the office. No answer. You cannot leave a message. I called again over the next 90 minutes 6 times. Same thing. I went the to web site and submitted 2 requests for car status via the personal agent. Nothing. So I decided to show up thinking car had to be ready as it was now after 3pm. On my way the service manager called and said they had been delayed and we're just working on my car right now. I said ok I'm on my way anyhow. When I arrived 15 mins later the car was still sitting in same spot. Was NOT being worked on. When I went in the other service manager sensed I was upset. I told him all this. He offered to get my keys Versus me waiting. I said probably a good idea. Then he offered and suggested the manager of the shop call me next day. I really hesitated but finally agreed sure I'm happy to give the feedback. No one called or followed up. So never really had a chance to try these guys and too bad they botched an opportunity to win a new customer. They wasted my time. read more

First I cannot say enough about how awesome Bobby and his crew are. We were on a church trip up from Florida and the AC went out on the van. Not wanting to drive back home without AC we called around looking for someone to fix the van on a Friday afternoon since we left the next day. I figured it was unlikely but worth a try. When I spoke to Bobby he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and told me to bring it in. Not only did he fix the AC on our van but he stayed a few hours late after closing time on a Friday afternoon to do it. He went far above and beyond what was expected. I don't know many people willing to do that but I thank God for sending us to him. He has since even followed up with me to make sure the AC worked on the drive home. If I could give him a 6 star review I would but I truly feel like I have a friend in the area now if I'm ever back. They are very knowledgeable and fairly priced and I highly recommend going to them with your car needs. I can not say enough about how great this repair place has been. We have used them for years, but this Thanksgiving my family was traveling from Pennsylvania and started to have problems halfway here. They not only fit my dad's in last minute, but had it ready in the short time frame we needed so they could get back home. As a woman (and also a Scottish person in the US) I was a bit nervous looking for a mechanic for my Mini Cooper, which is my pride and joy. I've always driven Minis, and back in Scotland I had a great guy I went to, so I was looking for something similar over here. I had taken it to Quantum a couple of years ago for a battery replacement and they did an amazing job, so when my brake pads needed replacing, I went back to Quantum and they were awesome and super welcoming. Samantha was really friendly and helpful and even took me back to the shop floor to meet the mechanic, who was very knowledgeable and transparent, he showed me exactly what needed done on the car and explained everything really well. Samantha got me a great deal on my brake pads and rotors and the cost including the car's service was extremely reasonable. Great service, honest and reliable; I would recommend Quantum to anyone in the Atlanta area who needs a mechanic. read more

They also brought up some other Issues that either could wait or I could do myself. They are honest, and I have to say their waiting area was cleaner then some restaurants I have eaten at.
