No, they don't have a beautiful waiting room like a dealership; and yes, you often do need to leave your car or wait (if you have to wait, just go across the street to the Sweet Hut - have coffee or tea and a great pastry, open up your laptop for a while and the time will fly by). OK Auto has quickly become my favorite repair shop. In the past I've always used the national chains but I saw the reviews for this place on Yelp and gave them a try. I've taken all 3 vehicles for different things over the last 6 months and have been amazed at the great service, quality repairs, and honesty. When I take my car to most places, I always expect them to come back with a laundry list of other things they say we need. OK Auto has actually done the opposite. There have been 2 times that I've gone in, requested a service, and when they call me they let me know that it wasn't what I thought initially and it has come out hundreds of dollars less each time. I won't take my car anywhere other than Ok Auto from now on!! They're experts, they're reasonably priced (more like the best prices around), they're fast, and most importantly, they are honest! I'm a girl on the go, so having a mechanic I can trust is a huge deal for me! They've done work on my car a few times, and each time I've been pleased/relieved! Cons - You have to walk through the work space to get to the cashier, which doesn't seem too safe. Note: You should be prepared to drop off your car, because there isn't really a waiting area. If I could knock off half of a star, I would have given it a 4.5, but for the awesome service they provide and unbeatable prices, I couldn't drop them to four stars. I live all the way downtown and after experiencing price gauging, long wait times, and poor customer service for the one mechanic location nearby, someone swore it was worth driving to this place. After spending thousands previously to maintain my Honda Pilot, something was still wrong. Ok Auto checked my car out quickly, told me it was a known problem that Honda would fix for free, printed out the documentation for me to take to Honda, and even advised me on the process that Honda would take so I was fully aware, and just charged $80 for the standard diagnostic test. Great fast service!! I went to a local Toyota dealership to get an oil change. Of course they found issues with me car. FREAKING BREAKS!! I'm not a tree lol Anyway, my Toyota has been good to me for almost 12 years. It's time for a new car, I know@_@ Lol Ok Auto saved me $115. OK Auto Service is just Ok. I've been to them before, but a few months ago, I had them install new brake pads and rotors (that I purchased myself), and they did a fine job with that, at the best price in Atlanta. At the same time though, I had them change my oil. They didn't tighten the filter on and I leaked oil for a week. Plus, their full synthetic is cheap Napa Autoparts brand. It also took them like 30 minutes to just change the oil. I should have gone to Ming's instead. :-( read more

Alright, so I took my car to Nissan for oil change and they did their regular check up to ensure if everything else was doing fine. Unfortunately, there were cracks in the alternator belt and the rear brakes needed some work too. They told me that I would have to pay around 6-700$ to get everything fixed. Of course I was unhappy and didn't want to leave my car there before getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Next stop was Precision Auto something something. The front desk lady was not very friendly and full of attitude and they were charging to do only a check up too. I just didn't have a good feeling about that place. Last and a very happy stop was OK Auto Service! VERY glad that I went there! Very happy and satisfied customer! Mr. Kim told that both the belt and brakes would cost me $220 and my car would be ready in 1 hour and 30 mins!! I was like whatttt!! Then I asked him if he needs to change break oil/fluid/whatever and he said no need to as not enough mileage - I mean he could have made money when I was insisting on changing that but he assured me that there isn't any need! My car was actually ready in 1-1/2 hours with a year parts and 6 months labor warranty!! What else do you want... :):):) read more

I checked prices and they do mark up the parts but I believe most places do. They don't appear to have a waiting room so it might be best if you can leave your vehicle. Absolutely the BEST! Consistently thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and honest service. If some one doesn't appreciate this place, something is DEFINITELY wrong with THEM. There is an air conditioned sitting area with a television and magazines. They treat us like family. I can't brag on them enough. We only go a couple of times a year for oil changes and emissions and a periodic repair, but they know my name...they know my car. They have WiFi in their waiting room which is convenient. They have taken care of all of our cars from Nissans, Hondas, Chryslers, Jeep, and on and on. All of our adult kids take their cars to OK Auto. I have tried the dealerships a few times after we moved outside of the Atlanta area and I have regretted it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have driven 2 plus hours to get to OK Auto because they are the BEST in the business. They do not charge for diagnostics, they do NOT price gouge ( Dealer wanted to charge me $280.00 to put in a $20 part, OK auto put in the part and fixed another issue for $100!!!!). I went to this auto shop to proactively perform maintenance on my Honda CRV after read good reviews in yelp. My experience with this shop was a nightmare. My car was in a very good shape before I took it over for maintenance, but they completely destroyed my Honda after they did a maintenance within several months. Transmission was completely broken after they did transmission fluid drain and engine oil is leaking after they did my car's valve adjustment and cleaning. Costed me extra over $3000 to fix above issues Shop owners (a couple) did not speak much English. Owner's daughter is completely unfriendly, rude and unwelcome. I will never take my car anywhere else. They are extremely knowledgeable and, most of all, honest. I had an oil leak and they changed out some seals to fix the problem. When I went to pay they informed me that my rear main seal seemed to be leaking oil as well but rather than changing it straight away he recommended I drive my car around for a week and bring it back so he could see how bad the leak was. When I brought it back they checked the seal (for free) and told me it wasn't worth the money to change it as it's a common problem with my car and the minor leak won't do any damage.
