A power steering leak they advised me of that I fixed for $18. This shop is honest!

This shop performed a timing chain and VTC actuator job for me at the price quoted ahead of time and didn't try to upsell me on any extra services. I did greatly appreciate the courtesy of being advised of some issues they found with my power steering pump leaking fluid but at no point did they make it seem like doom and gloom and try to upsell the job. It is for that reason that I will be back to have them do more work on my import cars. 11 out of 10 experience!

They have 10 stations, but for oil change it's just couple of them in use. While the service was quick, place is little congested. Being my first time, I entered the parking lot not realizing where to wait in line. I was very promptly and kindly told to drive to the other side and wait in line. There was no line, no sign, and nobody to direct me, so I juts waited till they called me. A little pricey, but these guys definitely take care of you. They stated multiple times over the years that their "classic car guy" was an expert and could handle a classic car. For the first 5 years of living in atlanta, I took my classic mercedes here until they finally told me their classic car guy was leaving and they wouldn't touch my car going forward. Frankly, they did 5 years of changing my oil and nothing else but they'd charge me for what they called "regular maintenance". Regular maintenance on a classic car should include a lot more than just topping up the oil and calling it a day, but every time I'd mention knocking noises or brake issues or anything else to them, they wouldn't address it at all so I had no idea if they thought it was an issue or didn't. Finally 5 years later, thank god their classic car guy left, because I took it over to a place in Decatur and all of the things I had been worried about, they found a reason, they gave me a full breakdown online of what they recommended and why, they answered all of my questions, and I could pay the invoice online and feel good about it. Update: As of 9:30 p.m., Jacob, the owner, repeatedly called and texted me after my review. He first falsely claimed I'd only visited once four years ago, then offered to pay me, which I refused. After that, he pulled up what he claimed were years of invoices that were not real, despite the fact that I have the original receipts for my own transactions. Even after I repeatedly told him to stop contacting me, he continued until I had to block his number. Based on both my experience and his behavior afterward, I would never recommend this business.

Our 18-year-old son was six hours from home when his 2003 BMW overheated. He was alone, scared, and devastated at the thought of losing a car he had worked hard for. Anthem gave him a $4,172.60 estimate. This wasn't simply a list of optional preventative maintenance. Their written technician report states that they pressure-tested the cooling system and "FOUND RADIATOR + EXPANSION TANK HAVE FAILED." Their proposed cooling-system work alone totaled $3,665 and included replacing the radiator, expansion tank, water pump, thermostat, hoses and numerous associated components. Because this estimate was more than the car was worth, an 18-year-old kid was left believing he might have to scrap his car hundreds of miles from home. Thank God we did not accept that conclusion. We found Marcus at AutoPro Training & Repair Services -- (404) 599-8121. Marcus drove approximately 25 minutes to meet our son that evening. He helped arrange a nearby location where AAA could tow the BMW, used his commercial parts access to keep potential costs down, diagnosed the car, and even took the time to teach our son about his own vehicle and involve him in the repair. And Marcus found something rather extraordinary: THE RADIATOR WAS FINE. The coolant cap had blown off. They even found the cap. Marcus addressed the coolant issue and got the car going. His total charge? $175. That included $50 to come out to the car, $75 for his diagnostic work, and approximately $50 for the actual repair. Anthem: $4,172.60. Marcus: $175. I understand that mechanics can disagree. I understand that a 23-year-old BMW has aging components and that a shop may reasonably recommend preventative replacement. What I cannot reconcile is a written diagnosis stating that a pressure test found that the radiator had failed, followed by another mechanic examining the vehicle and finding the radiator intact and resolving the immediate problem for $175. The most painful part was watching an 18-year-old kid six hours from home become scared and depressed because he believed the car he worked for was essentially gone. Had we not questioned this estimate, he could have given up on a functioning car based on what he was told. Marcus's kindness and integrity restored some of our faith in humankind while simultaneously making the contrast with our experience at Anthem glaring. I can only describe what happened to our family and let prospective customers draw their own conclusions. But after our experience, I would never authorize a major repair here without first obtaining an independent diagnosis. And frankly, if you're anywhere around Atlanta, I wouldn't wait until you need a second opinion. Call Marcus first. Marcus -- AutoPro Training & Repair Services (404) 599-8121 For our family, that phone call was the difference between an $4,172.60 estimate and a $175 solution -- and between an 18-year-old believing he'd lost his car and getting it back.

1 out of 5 stars WARNING: Dangerous workmanship, fraudulent…read morecharges, and zero accountability. Read before trusting this shop with your vehicle. I paid $2,590 in January for brake service, including a brake fluid flush. The noise I brought my vehicle in for returned immediately upon leaving the lot. When I came back, a technician admitted they had simply greased the rotors as a temporary fix -- without telling me -- and told me to return when the noise came back. That is not a repair. When the noise returned in April, I took my vehicle elsewhere for a routine oil change. That shop showed me my brake fluid, which was nearly black and sludge-like. The fluid flush I paid for in January was never performed. I was charged for a service that was never rendered. I returned to Pep Boys in April. Over the course of four days, I received no proactive communication despite my vehicle sitting in their possession. I had to show up in person and call multiple times just to get updates. Every promise of a callback went unfulfilled. When they finally called on the day of pickup, I was told the parts they had agreed to use were out of stock -- after my vehicle had been there for days -- and I was asked to pay an additional $65 per wheel for upgraded parts just to get my car back. That is not a customer's problem to absorb. When I picked up my vehicle, the clock was wrong -- consistent with the battery having been drained. When I opened the hood at home to verify whether the brake fluid flush had actually been performed this time, I found a jumper cable clamp left loose in my engine compartment near the battery. When I returned to the shop the next morning, the assistant manager confirmed the battery had likely been jump-started and that the clamp belonged to the shop. He acknowledged it posed a serious risk of engine damage or a traffic accident had it come loose while driving. I was informed by staff that at least one service coordinator and one master technician were terminated or left the job during my experience. Every commitment made by departing staff was denied or ignored by whoever replaced them. I had to re-explain my entire history from scratch at each encounter. Total paid across both visits: $3,454.44. Problems fully resolved timely: zero. Hazards introduced: at least one. I have documented everything -- invoices, photographs, and a written record of every interaction. I am currently pursuing a full refund with corporate. Do not bring your vehicle here.

On top of that, they tried to convince me that I needed to purchase three additional new tires. They kept insisting that I did so, but I wanted to get another opinion. Both places told me that the replacement tire Pep Boys installed was already at about half life and that the recommendation to replace three other tires are not needed. So frustrating and so scammy.
