Game Day Spot with Good Vibes At first, the welcome wasn't as warm as we hoped -- but once we got settled in, the energy completely shifted. The staff loosened up, the food came out hot and flavorful, and the whole place started buzzing with that game-day vibe. By the time the big plays hit the screen, it felt like everyone in the restaurant was rooting together. It's a minority-owned spot that brings the community together, and once the vibe kicks in, you'll want to stay until the final whistle. Bar food, plenty of TVs, and a fun place to enjoy the game.

This place is located in Accokeek near Clinton versus Indian Head. Think hole in the wall. Not sure the best days or times to go as when we arrived a little after 7 on a Friday the dance floor was empty and we were told the DJ was about to stop. The food is straight forward and seasoned wonderfully by Mr. Mike. $15 for a porkchop sandwich and fries is not bad, however I can get that same meal from Levi's for $12. Each drink was $10. The energy and atmosphere was a little stiff for my liking but I do want to check out the all you can eat crabs in the summer. One thing I will say is the bartenders seem to notice men and regulars here more for service. There were several times we caught ourselves desperately trying to flag down a bartender for a new drink versus them recognizing.

This is a bar right across the border in Accokeek. This was a lot of people's first choice for a watering hole during covid19. So I would call it a staple and it's been a constant ever since. They always have dj's during the week and weekends. All of the bartenders there treat you well enough. Stephanie is spicy! It's never too crowded and the drinks are always right. . It's a change of pace from the busier spots and the kitchen has some low key half decent food. But the wings I had that night were too salty. They also have a maryland lottery register if you feel like gambling. Good off the beaten path bar!

Most of the time fish is a hit. But every now and then ( last night) to be precise, my fish was over cooked. I had to bite and pull with my teeth. By the time I started eating and realized it was overcooked, the kitchen was closed. The drinks don't always taste like what you asked for but they are strong if that's what you like. They have a police officer at the door most nights, which makes it feel a bit safer. It's definitely a cheers type of bar, everyone knows everyone. Music is old school for the most part, but they have a jukebox so the music can be adjusted. It's a nice hole in the wall. The bathroom really sucks. You have to dam near turn sideways and use the stall with the door opened. That's the one thing I hate about this spot. Seems like they tried to turn one unisex bathroom into 2 stalls. I'm pretty sure the men's room looks the same.

The bar is fairly small and that can fill up too during peak hours, so making a reservation a few days beforehand is the best. I like to order their veggie burger, buffalo chicken wings, chicken tenders, or steak frites. The salad that comes with the steak frites has an amazing, lite dressing that I wish I knew how to make. The food has always been great and the service is extremely attentive. Within the last couple of months they've added mocktails to their bar menu which is great if you're sober or under 21 and want something more than water, lemonade (which is good there!), or a non-alcoholic beer. A pro move is to order the arcade tokens with your meal so you can close out your tab all at once. I love playing their pinball machines after the meal as a fun way to end the night. They've also got two skee ball lanes, two racing games, and a few shooters. A lot of it is nostalgic and great for kids and adults alike. It should be noted they have some "adult swim" nights where customers under 21 are not allowed. However, those typically don't start until 8 PM. They'll post these nights ahead of time on their website, social media, and front door. I've never had a bad meal, bad service, bad drink, or bad time in the arcade area. The only negative experience to note was the TV sound volume during the World Cup third place match. It was almost deafeningly loud, and pretty safe to say everyone knew it including the staff due to how everyone had to almost yell to be heard. I guess it was so kitchen and backroom staff could hear. The TV volume or music has never been that loud on any other visit, so I write it off as a one-off.

The lack of a fun barcade feels a bit depressing. That's why I love that GameOn is in DC on U St and especially that Continues Arcade in Alexandria exists!!! Continues Arcade is fairly new and it's been a wonderful edition to the suite of bars in the DC Metro region. The owners are active on the business' TikTok page and I enjoy it a lot. You can tell they really enjoy video games. As a former full time reporter that worked at The Verge and IGN it's always refreshing to see business owners so engaged and passionate about gaming and turn that passion into an arcade to celebrate the games of yesteryear. Especially given the ongoing memory shortage that's causing gaming consoles to spike up to unprecedented numbers and no signs of the price of hardware going down. Nevertheless, Continues Arcade offers community gaming fun. With an expansive menu of food and drinks, solid hours, parking nearby, and an 8-10 min walk from the Braddock Rd metro station, this location is ideal for multiple options of travel whether you're driving, rideshare or public transit. I really enjoyed their selection of arcade machines. Space Invaders, Crazy Taxi, Dance Dance Revolution, even the The House of the Dead 2 is on-site!! I like that they are also taking feedback on arcade machines they want customers to look into tracking down with a form to complete and all! Seriously I can't recommend this place enough. If they ever feel compelled to expand I pray to god they look into opening a location in Arlington!!

Overall, we had a generally good experience, but admittedly there were a few things that kept it from being a great one. For me, the biggest issue was the very start of the visit. It wasn't clear whether guests were supposed to seat themselves or wait to be seated. I hate standing around aimlessly and looking lost while we figure out what protocol is. We eventually sat down but then went quite a while without a server, which made for an awkward first impression. Once someone did help us, however, the service was very friendly and welcoming. The young lady was truly helpful and friendly but also very busy. The drinks were very good, but I wish the menu did a better job describing them. Many of the listings focus on the alcohol being used, which is great if you're already familiar with those spirits. I enjoy having new drinks but I was not familiar with these, so for those of us trying to decide what something will actually taste like, a little more detail would go a long way. We also tried the bourbon flight, which was fun and gave us the opportunity to sample several different bourbons. That said, the price was incredibly high. I enjoy tastings and flights when I visit new places, but at that cost it's difficult to justify doing again. As far as the food goes, the highlights were definitely the flatbreads and wings. Both were delicious and easily the standout items we tried. Their food is 100% worth trying. I wish we could have eaten more but we simply couldn't! To us, The RAD House had a friendly atmosphere, good drinks, and excellent food. While it may not be quite my scene, I think it's worth a visit and we may return just to try more of their delicious food. I still miss the little fish market but I'm glad a good establishment took its place!

The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area.
