We had wanted to stop by The RAD House for some time since it took over the retail spot a wonderful little fish market we used to love used to be in. Overall, we had a generally good experience, but admittedly there were a few things that kept it from being a great one. For me, the biggest issue was the very start of the visit. It wasn't clear whether guests were supposed to seat themselves or wait to be seated. I hate standing around aimlessly and looking lost while we figure out what protocol is. We eventually sat down but then went quite a while without a server, which made for an awkward first impression. Once someone did help us, however, the service was very friendly and welcoming. The young lady was truly helpful and friendly but also very busy. The drinks were very good, but I wish the menu did a better job describing them. Many of the listings focus on the alcohol being used, which is great if you're already familiar with those spirits. I enjoy having new drinks but I was not familiar with these, so for those of us trying to decide what something will actually taste like, a little more detail would go a long way. We also tried the bourbon flight, which was fun and gave us the opportunity to sample several different bourbons. That said, the price was incredibly high. I enjoy tastings and flights when I visit new places, but at that cost it's difficult to justify doing again. As far as the food goes, the highlights were definitely the flatbreads and wings. Both were delicious and easily the standout items we tried. Their food is 100% worth trying. I wish we could have eaten more but we simply couldn't! To us, The RAD House had a friendly atmosphere, good drinks, and excellent food. While it may not be quite my scene, I think it's worth a visit and we may return just to try more of their delicious food. I still miss the little fish market but I'm glad a good establishment took its place! read more

The RAD House has some real potential -- the drinks were tasty and the menu offers a nice variety that gives you plenty to choose from. It's clear they're trying to bring something different to the Waldorf area, and that's appreciated. That said, a few things kept this from being a great experience. The prices feel a bit steep for the area -- you'd expect that price point to come with a higher quality product, but the wings fell short. The wings were small and soggy, giving off major frozen-from-a-bag vibes rather than something made with care. For the cost, that's a letdown. To top it off, they ran out of wine during our visit, which is a pretty basic inventory miss for a bar and restaurant. Again, the drink menu is solid and the variety on the food menu is a plus. With some tweaks to food quality, portion value, and stock management, this place could really shine. For now, it's a "maybe next time" from me. read more

I'm not at all familiar with this area, but needed a place to stop for some food and Rad house popped up with some good reviews and recommendations, so we gave it a try. It's kind of a sports bar, but also has some cute/unique decorative touches which elevates the space a little. The drink menu had some great sounding cocktails, so we ordered a round of drinks to start. For food, we went with the BBQ chicken Flatbread, and 2 orders of wings. The food was good, but the drinks stole the show! Kate, was our server and bartender and she was so sweet and friendly. I've been here twice in a month and it was amazing both times. The first time the co-owner was our waitress and she was so knowledgeable and friendly. The other time I sat at the bar and both bartenders took perfect care of us. The lemon pepper wings are good. The ranch and bleu cheese is delicious. I've tried a few cocktails and the red wine. Came to La Plata to go to Lowe's and found this spot. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the lovely Cierra who was our server and bartender. She made some great recommendations for us to try. We tried a new tequila instead of the usual brands, this one was from a woman run brand. I got the house salad with blue cheese and a side of shrimp. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly. I then got the wings with sesame teriyaki flavor. They were cooked just right and the flavor was a perfect blend. All the food is fresh not frozen and it shows in the quality and taste of everything we had. Bae got the Tri Trip steak sandwich with no cheese and also loved his food. read more

Stopped by on a random Tuesday and loved it so much that we came back tonight (Thursday)--and the vibes are just as amazing! The pizza and atmosphere are top-notch, making it the perfect chill spot in La Plata to hang out and catch a game. The owner was fantastic--he even gave our friend an awesome birthday pour! They show great support for the military, law enforcement, police, and fire department. Highly recommend--10/10! We'll definitely be regulars! read more

This place was super good! We went a few weeks ago. Some of the best wings in the area. I am in a wheelchair and they only had high tops but I can get up and move around some, so I could get up and move around the manager or owner (I'm not sure which he was but he was doing something with the books) moved from the table he was at so I could be there and put my wheelchair out of the way since they had an event coming in. Found out this place opened up fairly recently through some coworkers. La Plata doesn't have many bars, so it definitely got talked about. The Rad House has pulled in some top talent of bartenders. From what I heard, they get pretty busy later in the day. There's a few TVs setup to watch sports and what not. It's definitely got a cool vibe going on. The cocktails had incredible flavour depth going on. Maybe I'm not cultured enough, but the way the drinks were prepared was pretty amazing. I saw them torch rosemary before placing it in my drink. They got out some sort of wooden board and torched it to infuse the bourbon mix with smoke. The guy doing it was particular about the wood. The appetizers are nothing to scoff at either. I got the crab balls, and they were delicious. All-in-all it's rather expensive, but for what it's worth... it's worth. Can't recommend this place enough. Just what La Plata needed. read more

Stopped by the RAD House on a Saturday afternoon. It was only one other person there when we arrived. Our server - Zack was very nice and attentive. I got the Old Bay Wings and my friend got the Street Tacos. He really liked the chicken ones with the flour tortilla. Also, Zack made me a mocktail that was yummy. The ambiance was really chill. The music gave me island vibes and they had a few screens where you could watch College Football. Also, I loved the fact that the chef personally brought out the food he prepared. Came here to check out the vibes. Music is pop punk but if it's slow apparently they take music request. John was super knowledgeable about the menu and even brought the sous chef, Bethany, to answer my question about ingredients. Both were super nice and accommodating. I highly recommend the crab balls and ask for rad sauce. Rad sauce is their in house sauce that has a Buffalo sauce, maplely, old bay flavor. The bartenders, Zach & Dre were super helpful and super nice with the drinks. I highly recommend the Zac's drink, "Can You Feel My Gin?", it's on the secret menu (it's a gin old fashion. Very smooth). I love this place. I definitely will be back. Great place to hang out after work for a good drink, a laugh and some great food! read more

My hubby and i enjoy going here once a week. Good cocktails, great food and good service. Last night was horrible. Many customers vaping (illegal in charles county). Major intoxication and loud profanity all night. Worse than a redneck bar. I saw good customers get up and walk out. Mgmt needs to do something about this. We wont be back. read more
