Went across the street to Cub Wine & Spirits and was given boxes with a smile, and they had a bunch because they must be selling product at a higher rate with their friendly customer service. This interaction could have been friendly and handled better instead of losing a customer. Just best to go somewhere else that has respect for people.

Very odd. I've been to this location 3 times over the last 3 months. I'm drawn to this particular…read morestore because it carries a brand of beer which I can not locate elsewhere. I am a 75 year old male who was required to provide my licence each time as proof of eligibility to make the purchase. This particular clerk even took a picture of the bar code on the back of the licence on each occasion. The first time it happened, I thought it odd because the woman in front of me who was probably half my age was not required to provide any proof, whatsoever. The second time it occurred, the exact same scenario played out only this time I lingered behind the checkout to see if the young man behind me was carded.....and neither of them were. Yesterday, the same scenario occurred once again, only this time I lingered long enough to see the patron in front of me and the two behind me pass through the checkout; I was the only one carded. In each case the same clerk was involved. I'm not one to claim discrimination but clearly there is a policy here which allows their personnel to apply higher standards in an arbitrary and capricious manner. I suggest that they either card everyone or card no one and take their chances with the state liqueur control board. I'll be back again and the next time I'll have someone taking pictures.

I drove from a neighboring suburb. When I arrived the counter person brought out two similar yet different wines. I was told, "the inventory online is not always correct." "But I called to confirm it," I said. "Well did you want to wait while I checked? Duh, yes! I'd wanted the specific wine to give as a late Christmas gift. Disappointing, for a shop that likes to tout its expertise.
