My son is fixated on blueberries, so he happily sat on the grass and picked berries from the low hanging bushes while the rest of us focused on the marionberries. The highlight for my son is that the family that owns this farm are serious Oregon Ducks fans, so they get bonus points from him. Compared to other farms, the pickings were a little slim, but the folks are very nice.

There were 2 different kinds of blueberries although we only picked 1 kind, but gave a nice variety between sweet and tart. The owner was very nice and had buckets lined with bags all ready for us so we could just pick into the bucket and take out the bag when done and ready to take home. You also cannot beat the price at $1.75 a pound! I believe we looked at the organic farm in Portland and it was about $3.50 a pound and I am sure a lot more crowded. The blackberries and Marionberries, my fave. They are big, plump, and bursting with flavor. Plus, they are so much easier to pick at a farm where the bushes are staked to a trellis vs. the wild ones I pick on the side of the road. Don't get me wrong, I do pick the wild ones, but I'm usually covered in juice and my hands and arms get all pricked. When I'm here, I pick a huge bucketful so I can make pies. The berries are so sweet I just add a little sugar and lemon juice and the pies are perfect. Also pick enough so I can enjoy some plain, by the handfuls. Their blueberries are sweet and delicious, too! I make space in my freezer so I can have them throughout the year. If you don't want to pick your own, no worries, they sell containers and flats in their cute country store along with other food and gift items. This family farm is so picturesque! It's a lovely setting and it's well run with friendly staff. If you are picking fruit, definitely go in the morning to avoid the sun beating down on your back. And wear a hat!
