I want to replace my roof, although it is 14 yrs old because I have a leak. I called this company, spoke to their answering service. Was told I would receive a call to schedule an appointment for an estimate. I guess I should have asked "when will I receive a call back?" I never received a call, so after waiting one month, I called again but once again they didn't call me back for a few days. I called a third time today just to ensure they were really still in business and to let them know how they treat potential customers was disrespectful. The person who answered the phone said, (this is a near quote) "you can leave another message to let them know you called before.'" I told her no, because the way they behave prior to getting my business is a signal of how they will respond after they have my business. I guess they have enough jobs and don't need anymore. It has been three years since Welsh Roofing did a full roof replacement in one day for your standard single-level property. They were not only able to trace a slow leak but Jack even brought shingle sample books to give me time to research before moving forward. The company has always been responsive and fairly priced for gutter repairs needs as well. Best part about dealing with the company is not only the current ownership but all of the trade professionals that come out to do the work. Welsh Roofing does not sub-contract and quite frankly, I hesitate to allow any other company onto my roof unless I reach out to Welsh to find out of they offer that same service first. read more

We found Welsh Roofing to be very professional and efficient, and we love our new roof! We got quotes from three companies, and found Welsh to be by far the best deal. They were great about answering all our questions during our initial consult and the day of our roof replacement. We were also blown away by their efficiency - while our house is not large, we were shocked that they were done by noon. Finally, we were very impressed with the clean-up process; we have a dog, and we were a little nervous about sending her into the yard with the potential for rusty nails and other debris. However, clean-up was probably half of the process! They went over the same spots again and again with different tools to insure they picked up all the nails and debris, so I felt very safe letting my dog out afterwards. Welsh Roofing did my roof and several of my neighbors' roofs over the years. Just completed my roof and was pleasantly surprised at how fast, efficient and thorough they are. The owner of the company, Mr. Welsh, came onsite at start to ensure everything was setup correctly with all the staff. Unlike other roofers, they brought along these massive plastic tarps to cover the landscaping/flowers/bushes as well as anything else to protect them from debris of removing the old roof. For anyone that has had a roof done, this is a BIG deal. After job was completed, the staff literally scoured entire surrounding area for any debris and picked it up to clean up. By the time they left, other than foot marks, you could not tell there had been a major roof job done. Not a single nail, wrapper, shingle part or anything could be found by me after they left. The price was a slight (marginally) higher than other estimates but, as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". read more

After all the windstorms and rainstorms of this past summer my roof had taken a real beating and it was time to look into replacing it when leaks appear on the interior. I had received the Montgomery County Best Picks Referral book and looked up roofers and started calling for estimate appointments. Several said they were not taking anymore business, others didn't even return my call. I called Welsh Roofing and the gentleman on the phone said that he had got a cancellation and was I available to see that day. Considering my luck with the others I said yes. Jack, who is the owner's son came out to meet me and inspected the roof and gave me a quote. He thoroughly explain all that he recommended and suggested things that I would never have known were needed. I then went through the process of getting my insurance agent to assess the situation. He suggested if possible that the roofing representative be there at the time of the inspection. I asked Jack and he agreed to be present. Between the two they determined what had to be done including bring the roof up to code. My insurance agent gave me the amount that the would be paying which was only a couple hundred dollars different from the Welsh proposal. My insurance agent also informed me that I was given a very fair price for the materials that they would be using. Jack gave me a start date and time of Dec.14 at 7AM. He and his team of workers were there at 6:59AM! Talk about on time. I was not home to observe the work but with the amount of trucks and material that arrived, I wondered what my yard would looked like. When I arrived home I could not believe how pristine clean the yard and driveway area looked, and of course the roof was great. I could not have asked for a more streamline professional job! Most of my neighbors have had their roofs replaced and had used Welsh Roofing and had recommended them. Everyone has been very pleased. Still, I thought I should get estimates and evaluations from other companies. Jack Welsh, the owner, has been terrific from my first phone call. After talking to a few other companies, I felt most comfortable with Welsh. The price was good, the scheduling was easy, 3 trucks and at least 7 workers arrived promptly at 7 a.m. and by 4 p.m. I had a beautiful new roof! They cleaned up meticulously and no paint was scratched and none of my landscaping was disturbed. The process could not have been smoother! Aside from the excellent job, Jack Welsh deserves a special mention for his advice, expertise, kindness and patience. I was anxious about getting a new roof and I must have asked a million questions about the type of shingles, whether or not I needed new gutters too, what color I should choose, what exactly is a ridge vent and on and on. Jack answered every question and was calm and reassuring. I guess an important note is that I trust him and I trust his company and his workers. Great job on our roof patch! I was getting worried about the "hole" in our roof after a recent windstorm and subsequent downpour that caused some leaking from the ceiling and inside the house, so Wednesday (4/25) I called several places only to be told I'd have to wait for months just to get an estimate, let alone a fix. Then I found Welsh Roofing after doing some searching online. I called and left a voicemail message and within hours Jack called me back and told me that he could come out on Tuesday (5/1) and given the small size of the roof damage could just fix it on the spot. I was quoted $375 for the job. I couldn't be home on the day he said, but no problem! He said I didn't even need to be home...he would just fix it and slip a bill under the door. If the damage was more extensive, then he would call me before moving forward with anything. Well, today, I came home to a roof that looked as good as it had before the storm!
