I obtained six bids for contractors to paint it again. I was impressed with Richard right from the start. He was very knowledgeable, so I hired him to pain one of my houses in Winnetka, CA. There are so many good things to say about Richard and his team. Where do I start? He seeks perfection. We are talking straight lines, clean lines, and the best material possible. His price includes Dunn-Edward or Sherwin William paint. You have 1,000+ color options to choose from. Because my house is frequently beaten by the 100+ degrees San Fernando Valley sun, I opted to upgrade to Life Paint's Cool life product for a lifetime warranty. The paint keeps my house cooler. It is thick, like yogurt - we are talking amazing quality. Their preparation to the house was perfection. They dug ditches around the entire perimeter, repaired a million cracks, sandblasted the exterior, sanded the windows, and replaced broken window panes (I don't need to replace them anymore!), and even cleaned up my neighbor's yard after the sandblasting job. Richard is not just a painter, he knows how to fix anything that is wrong with the exterior construction of your house, especially if it could negatively impact the painting results. He replaced multiple rotten wood beams on my back patio, the wood flashing on my side exterior door, removed the 1950's wood beams on my front porch, repaired window sill gaps, and replaced the entire wood siding on the side of my garage. He showed me where the previous painters even used Bondo to repair the rotten wood, rather than replace it. His price included the replacement of up to 20 feet of bad wood. He charged extra for the overage, at a very fair price. Truthfully, I was just happy that he knew how to repair everything and I didn't have to hire someone else. He is an absolute professional and extremely customer friendly. His team works quietly, music is kept to a minimum, they pick up their own trash, and discard your trash from the job at the end of the day. Their work area remains clean. He is present every day, supervising the workers. If something needs to be done, he jumps right in and appears to know how to do every part of the job. Speaking of customer friendly, I changed my mind about the paint colors so many times. He even repainted areas of my house just to make me happy. He was never frustrated with me, which I appreciate. As they say, a picture says a thousand words. Take a peek at the before and after pictures. The color is amazing - I'll take credit for that! However, I couldn't do it without Richard. He is an amazing consultant. He helped me to select the color, giving consideration to shaded areas and direct sun. So, I loved Richard's work so much that I have hired him to paint the inside of my house! Listen, if you are looking for a quality paint job, you need to hire Richard. He is the best. I found Pat after I called a local Benjamin Moore paint supplier and asked them who they would recommend. I called Pat up and he gave me a reasonable quote, but it did take a while before we were able to lock down a time to start the job. Pat's does have a busy schedule and he does great work, so if you want to work with him, you will need to plan ahead. He is not sitting around waiting for work, which is a good sign, but keep that in mind if you have a tight schedule. Pat had to fix some bad prep work done by a previous painter and more than exceeded expectations. I am looking forward to him being my go to guy for any future painting projects.

Michael, our main point of contact, was kind and communicative throughout, and I did appreciate his effort to bring in an extra person for cleanup on the last day. That said, the project was quoted to take about a week but ended up taking three months. While I expected it to go longer than a week due to substantial wallpaper removal and wall prep, three months was far beyond what they initially told us. As our move-in date approached, the crew rushed to finish, and the results showed. After moving in, we noticed many areas where fixtures, wall hooks, and other items were not removed before painting--some were painted or drywalled over entirely. They also did not use the correct sheens of paint we requested, which was frustrating given how clear we were about our preferences. On top of that, there were numerous careless mistakes and sloppy details that make the finished product look unprofessional. Even after bringing attention to the botched areas, he only worked on it for 3 hours and never came back to fix the rest. Lastly, they did not clean up after themselves after working on an area that isn't as visible as other areas. Looking at my pictures, it's hard to believe that they are "after" photos and not "before" photos .
