Pipes frozen. Arrived promptly to review. Told me we need a thawing machine which they didn't have. Gave me 3 other plumbers to try

My plumber retired and he had recommended BMC so I made the mistake of trusting them and didn't ask for an estimate. Their work looks fine but they charged me more than twice what they should have and I was in such shock that I paid it. I paid $2,000 for a little over 4 hours work. Maybe they used to be good but now they are excessively pricey. Stay away unless you have a lot of money you want to get rid of. read more

Comically awful: Our utterly reliable and responsive plumber of 30 years retired so we tried BMC. A plumber drained our radiators on a Friday, left, and we inexplicably had no heat for the entire (November) weekend. We left two messages with their service, who each time promised a quick response once they texted the owner, but none came: We finally called the owner's cell phone: no response. When we called again on Monday, the owner said, Whoops, I never heard from the service. And Whoops: I didn't see your message on my cell phone--sorry! The plumber returned, declared--whoops--I must have accidentally turned off your pilot light before I left Friday. Never again. read more

Our old boiler finally died. Sean came out the next morning, quoted a very fair price to replace it and said he'd install it in only 2 days. John arrived early, removed the old boiler and installed the new one . He also replaced some piping and spigots that weren't part of the original quote - no extra charge. After cleaning up he presented the bill. It was exactly the amount Sean quoted. No hidden extras added. This is the second time I've used BMC and won consider using anyone else now. Excellent! Family owned and operated, which is what I prefer. Came when my heat went out during a very cold spell. Let me borrow a space heater until my heat was fixed. Have used them in the past for both plumbing and heating work in my home as well as my mother-in-laws home. The work was good. Recently I found myself in need of a plumber and contacted them. I called three times over 2 days and spoke to their answering service during normal business hours as was told that the owner would get back to me. They never called me back. Very disappointed with the follow up. read more

A friend recommended them and couldn't say enough good things, so we had them Install a new water heater for us last year. We called them again recently and had new toilets installed & the bathroom sink snaked. A little pricey (they all are, right?), but the work was excellent and the guys were great. BMC is small but they come right away, on time, and give good advice & very personal service. read more

job consisted of a simple disconnecting and reconnecting water and gas in 3 kitchen appliances- the job was done adequately but the cost was outrageous and exploitative- and disproportionate to the work- original bill was 1040 dollars for three hours of work and three valves- owner of the plumbing company assisted for I/2 hour , 15 minutes of which was devoted to calculating the bill. consumer beware of ethics of bmc. read more

I have dealt with BMC several times over the last five years or so. I have always been satisfied with their service and find the pricing to be fair. I trust these guys implicitly, to the extent that I feel comfortable having them in my home whether or not I am present. Good, competent folks. Definitely recommend. read more
